*UPDATE Finviz likes to occasionally change the order that their data tables are listed. At the time of this video, you had to import table 7. It is now table 9 that should be imported. So the new formula will look something like this: =importhtml("finviz.com/quote.ashx?t="&A5,"table",9)

Great video, and thanks for the update. I had to figure it myself after I differentiated the snapshot from a random space above it while using the visuals with the console. Question: How do I remove the asterisks (ie. *38.77* --> 38.77) from the table in order to use the numbers thereafter?

Great question. You can remove the asterisk by using the substitute formula. I use this formula in many of my portfolio trackers. Go back and view some of my portfolio tracker videos to see how I use this.

How do you scrape the sector and industry names for stocks? For example, AAPL is Technology and Consumer Electronics respectively.

Any idea on how to create a real time Technical indicator/s signal to announce events? Like MV Cross over or MACD Histogram , etc. OR ROC value crossed above/below Zero. etc.?

In Googlesheets, does anyone know if it's possible to have more than one subtotal in a filter view? For example, i have several different investment accts, each of which has several individual investments. I'd like to have a subtotal for each of the inv acts in one filter view.

Isn't there any software, site specifically designed to be scraped, or Google Sheet extension to scrape technical and fundamental analysis information from reliable sites that doesn't require so much periodic manual adjustment? The content of financial sites is usually dynamically generated and is often encrypted. And that's why you have to go around modifying the sources and formulas or the XPath. The information is appreciated.

For this tutorial, only google sheets will work. I love google sheets because it’s free and easy for everyone to access. It also provides great finance tools.
