it would end up being about a man working at a chocolate factory who mixes the blood and body of his victims into the chocolate. he crushes up the bones to make it seem like almonds or a cookie like crunch in the chocolate. then the muscles would be turned into a paste and used as a caramel like substance in the chocolate, etc. that's what the movie would probably be about.
lol yeah same it almost sounds like your floating away and your life is on a piece of thread, you slowly start to fade from reality, you scream as loud as you can and you hear someone says "come with me you'll be in a world of pure imagination " take a look" you see all your dreams but it all vanishes in a blink of an eye. You see children crying the animals dead from factories, the air quality is a slowly turning into a muderous poison for the human kind. You see your closets friends trying to change the world for the best you scream as loud as you can saying NO NO NO... you got all the wrong ideas- you hear gun shots and you realized the gunshot hit your crumbling heart ....
It's like this version is the adult version - like that darkness of knowing the world isn't as magical as it seemed when young and innocent - it feels like it's trying to recapture that youthful optimism but reality hits and it's back to being wistful of that energy
It’s not her, the original jean wilder version did that. The reason for this odd sounding sound is because of the minor chords on the keyboard in the beat.
Lyrics: [Verse 1] Come with me and you'll be In a world of pure imagination Take a look and you'll see Into your imagination We'll begin with a spin Traveling in a world of my creation What we'll see will defy Explanation [Chorus] If you want to view paradise Simply look around and view it Anything you want to, do it Want to change the world There's nothing to it [Verse 2] There is no life I know To compare with pure imagination Living there, you'll be free If you truly wish to be [Chorus] If you want to view paradise Simply look around and view it Anything you want to, do it Want to change the world There's nothing to it
every lyrics feels like I'm floating away from Earth that I'm reaching out my hand my life is on a string one single mistake I die in a blink of an eye. I scream for help trying to call for anybody I'm slowly fading away slowly, you see all those fragile moments you lived with you closets wons. You remember when you talked about changing the world but sooner realized There's nothing to it
I quite like all of them, but fiona remains unprecedented. Her lyrical genius cannot be understated, not to mention her aversion to voice alteration and her less mainstream approach to producing musical masterpieces. One day Fiona will be acknowledged for her genius once again, and be praised as one of the greats
Fiona Apple cover:reminds people of death, sadness, other... Maroon 5 cover:chill, reminds me kinda of Christmas, other... Willy wonka:happiness, joy, other... Idk just a random comment.
I don't believe sadness. I believe depth, a drop of dark potion, more musical instruments & creativity intertwined in this Fionna cover. To me, it's majestic.
sad and happy are really both the same emotion, sadness is a deep sort of happy, happiness is a pretty toxic emotion to have as we rely on others to make us happy but happiness can be found in deep sadness and reality
Lol, I like the way you phrased that. Have you ever heard of the Jazz trumpeteer Chet Baker? He sings like a trumpet sounds. Also he plays the trumpet. A lot of his music have a similarly peaceful melancholy to them, I think you'd like!
This song is what horror as a genre of fiction sounds like to me. Strange, yet powerful. You’re not as much frightened as you are enthralled by the worlds, characters, and stories of those amazing movies, books, poems, and video games.

I used to dream like that too. I'm 18 now, and pursuing a career in journalism and writing poetry and nonfiction on the side. I have many connections so my work should be published pretty soon
What i really love about this is the lyrics don't match up with the way the song sounds which leads it being seen in different ways 1: some sinister creature trying to lure you in with the promise of "a world of pure imagination" but its unable to hide its true intentions so the words it says don't match up with the vibe it gives off and at 0:52 something creepy happens with the music its almost like the monster droped its mask for a second almost showing it's true self 2: a person in a horrific situation is in denial and trying to lie to themselves, remembering better times to cope. but it's not the same, reality haunts the happy memories and turns them dark too 3: a person who used to believe in the original song, but has been hurt and lost their optimistic and innocent look on the world is now thinking back on the lyrics with their new view and reciting them with sarcasm feeling angry and lied to (kind of like the song "mad at Disney") Especially since 1:46 the way she says "compare" almost sounds like she's angry but trying to hold it in 2:39 want to change the world? "There's nothing to it..." That level of optimism sounds unfit and sarcastic in this version
Found this on chance. I was linking the original and saying how this song means so much to me to a friend. Then I heard this and it stopped me in my tracks....beautiful! Gene would have loved this !!
I read a lot of comments saying; Gene Wilder produces joy, happiness with his song, Maroon 5 more chill relaxed feelings, while Miss Apple produces more darker sad feelings, but i disagree. Of course Apple's version is completely different from the original and sounds a little darker with the sad parts in her cover. But that doesn't mean her version is sad, she just captures a wider range of emotions in her version which also includes sadness, but just as much happiness.
Haunting, beautiful and hauntingly beautiful but then I'd expect nothing less from Fiona Apple. Thanks for doing such a great rendition of one of my very favorite songs.
You're falling to piece, you're not a human being anymore. And you finally understand there is nothing to change in the world. You finally understand you have been living in imagination all your life.
Who else is here from the chipotle game. I got it and when I opened it, it played the animated video for this song with the scarecrow and I thought it was some like high-budget errie horror game with really good graphics that was free for some reason and I thought the video was what the game was going to look like. Then I realized it was just an ad for chipotle and the game looked a lot worse, it was still kind of fun but no where near what I thought it was going to be. The game felt like a really really short Wii Game. I still liked the game and I was sad that it was removed from the App Store like a few months after it released but it was still cool and we still have the music video for it
When she starts to sing when you are about to sleep with your eyes closed at night and with the light off, it feels like the angels are talking to you, telling you that you are in God's paradise...it's just beautiful...
Who's here because of an incredibly fortuitous sequence of near infinite events stretching back to the big bang, each incrementally contributing to a slightly more complex form of life that slowly evolved into humans as we know them today, of which one among millions of lineages has survived to pass on its own variations of genetic information that contained the precise conditions that allowed you to interact with your environment in a way that concocted your complex brain and personality, ultimately ending up in you pressing your finger down on a mouse button while its digital correspondent pointer was resting on some pixels that would present this abstraction of a place we call website to your eyes and ears?
I knew this was going to be good because I loved her version of Sally's Song from Nightmare Before Christmas. A lot of artists covered this song but she kept the vibe that Gene Wilder brought but made it more current, in my opinion anyway.
I hate how this song isn't on Spotify, I just love it as much as the original song, I listened to this one everyday ever since I watched that Scarecrow animation.
Fiona does the best covers! but this one is truly a gem among gems 💎 for those of you who haven't heard/seen her do Jimi Hendrix Angel & Elvis Costello I Want You, ya don't know what you're missing. Definitely reccomend going & checking them out!
Come with me And you'll be In a world of pure imagination Take a look And you'll see Into your imagination We'll begin With a spin Traveling in The world of my creation What we'll see Will defy Explanation If you want to view paradise Simply look around and view it Anything you want to, do it Want to change the world? There's nothing to it There is no Life I know To compare with pure imagination Living there You'll be free If you truly wish to be If you want to see magic lands Close your eyes and you will see one Want to be a dreamer, be one Anytime you please and please save me one Come…
hearing this is like a scene from rattatoile when he eats the food, and theres sudden rush of memories back when he's a child didnt know why I really liked this piece as a kid, not even knowing what the lyrics meant, but fiona's rendetion of this pure imagination will always be my top pure imagination arrangement
I've been listening to this song rather obsessively for about a week. Today, it occurred to me that the lyric line "Want to change the world? There's nothing to it." could mean that not only is changing the world something we all can do without the struggle and suffering we've previously endured if only we move into a realm of Pure Imagination, but -- also -- that in creating that beautiful world, we can't forget to include the Nothing. By "Nothing" I'm thinking of the kind of space that Zen Buddhism, Taoism, & other spiritual practices offer. The Nothing is mystery and wonder and joyous excitement about what we are crafting together as human beings embodied on Earth. Here we are. Let's see what we can do and much fun we can have.
Who the hell cares about where you all came from, can we just acknowlegde that this is indeed a very good piece of music? I hoped that the comment section was about the song, sad.
The arrangement is very good, her voice is extraordinary. I didn't care for the maroon five version it lacked heart. The seth Macfarlane Barbra Streisand duet is magic.
Reminds me of someone turning away from trauma and choosing to step into madness. Picking the alternative landscape of the imagination to the reality before them.
I still remember exactly where I was in the music section of borders when I listened to her newest album at the time, Extraordinary Machine. I was just a kid, but it really shaped and matured my taste and love for music.
Fiona´s voice is so fine and free that...thinking in the right direction her body is floating in the floor against the strong weight air of the balloons...PURE IMAGINATION... :)
