Oh. My. Glob. This shit catchy as FUCK! I hope y'all are already as in love with this new song as I am because this shit slaps lol Follow me on twitter I will be posting about this show a LOT lol twitter.com/Le_Unorthodox Sub 2 the second channel btw: ru-vid.com/show-UCEG_QK5tOBsqyhBdIgv63Ug
i love how this show actually showed some of what the real world is like, knowing that kids who grew up with adventure time are grown now, and are probably trying to give them a feeling of nostalgia, while also relating to them
Dog. Yall are some lonely as* losers fr. It's a song to an animated show. This company made this so they can get paid. They don't give af about you. So stop with the parasocial comments.
0:43 Love how Cake doesn't know the context, she just assumes that the phone is what's making Fionna sad and swats it away to try to make her feel better.
Another character with depression.... I hope the story isn't going to be too gritty. Don't get me wrong, this needs representation too and Arcane, one of the saddest adult series is something I consider to be a masterpiece, but since most modern stories are dark and cynical I want to see some lighthearted fun sometimes. A lot of people praise Adventure time for its mature themes, myself included, just the thing a lot of people forget is that it was also a funny, surreal escapism. But maybe I'm just worried for the spin-off.
I feel like this is the best animation quality Adventure Time has seen. This first intro with Fionna and Cake is so awesome, cannot be for hype for the next episodes.
can not not, or can't not. sorry i dont mean to be a grammar police but what you typed is the opposite of how you feel. "You Can't not" means "you must" or " you have to". where as cannot means "can't" meaning "you wont" (sorry not trying to be a d*ck about it but there are people out there that will take it as you aren't hype and go after you for it, dumb i know)
I like how the intro is like a sitcom intro to represent how Fionna feels about her life. She finds it repetitive and boring but struggles with changing anything about it because, as the lyrics say "Cause I'm running from my feelings and my fear of sudden change". She wants to do something grand and adventurous but is terrified of it as well
CN is in a worse position than the were in 2009 with CN Real. Which is sad because we all thought they were never steeping that low ever again. Now they’re even LOWER
I adore the detail of there being one split second of the unfiltered setting before everything goes to pastels with the title card. The whole romcom vibes with the visuals really hammers down this strangely unique worldview Fionna has towards her life. Cant wait to watch the full thing
Yo! I didn't catch that until you mentioned it. I think it's kinda bleak in its own way. It's like Fiona is kinda forcing herself to see the world as way better than it is and for herself to be happier than she feels meanwhile the song is just straight up telling us how things really are while being upbeat and sticking with this pastel rom-com filter she's put over everything. Kinda morbid, but hey, this is the same creator that put hints of a nuclear holocaust in his kid's show, so I guess we all knew what to expect.
@thestranger954 It reminds me of Paramore's "Fake Happy" music video, where it FEELS like a happy and upbeat pop song until you hear Haylay singing about how she's hiding her true feelings from everyone. the people around her do the same by wearing a smiley mask and at the end of the video Hayley puts one on too as she starts to cry
As a person who turned 23 and feels lost in life....this song really hits home. Finding job security, wanting new relationships or maintaining old ones.... trying to figure out who you are as a person. This song really is the perfect representation
From the lofty peaks of 37 here, I have good news and bad news. Bad news: those feelings never go away. Good news: you can learn to deal with them. Y'all will be alright. Just don't take any of this too seriously. ❤
I saw a lot of people say they didn't like how adventure time became more mature when pendleton ward left the team, but I feel like that's exactly what the series as a whole needed.
Absolutely, and Pen’s new show is great! It even has its own way of embracing it’s surreal ness while also being down to earth and mature as well! It’s called The Midnight Gospel I believe?
@@FratoiuAlex I know but honestly pb and marcy shoudnt have gotten hooked anyway like pb and finn and marcy stays single but finn being a dam viking was awesome "I'm a buff baby and ima shaka my can!" Finn (baby) 2015
This song does the same thing as the OG adventure time theme (come along with me) in that it captures a hard-to-describe feeling but it does so in a very different way and is trying to capture a different feeling. They almost feel like siblings. Come Along With Me is very much about companionship and experience with others while this feels very introspective and focused on the self.
@@redmoonrise6507 Yes, but this is still "the theme" of Fionna and Cake while Come Along With Me is "the theme" of Adventure time. This is also not the true intro but more of an cute opener for this EP specifically. The true intro is more...abstract.
It’s like the name of the word for the precise moment when you realize that you've actually forgotten how it felt to make love to somebody you really liked a long time ago
Ten years later and AdventureTime is still growing up with its audience. We related and had fun watching AdventureTime as kids, now we relate to Fiona who can't hold a job and lives alone with her cat, meanwhile Finn is still living that fun adventure filled life we miss and wish we could return to. This is probabmy going to be a big crossover, a visit to the world our younger selves grew up in once again, chasing that old adventure time This franchise is amazing I swear. I'm very glad to have grown up with it, and continue to do so
@@bongwatersharkWouldn't Steven U be more relatable than going from Finn to Fionna? Especially when the former touched on the subject a lot better than Adventure Time did.
@@emmanuelotiki1555 Hey, don't be an ass about it. If you don't like them saying that, then just don't respond to it. People can see things in their own way.
At first I was a bit sad that the opening song didn't follow the same structure and melody of the original series like the minisseries did, but in retrospect I think it makes the show have its own identity.
@@fork4207i mean the theme song changed as soon as Episode 2 so thats a pretty good guess!! now, is it gonna be just switching between these two theme songs, or will it have a theme song for every universe they visit for an episode's duration or something?
I think the first intro was just for the one episode, and the one from episode 2 will be the intro used from now on Or this one could be used for normal Fionna episodes (with almost no magic and focusing on the city) whereas the 2nd one is for magic stuff
This song isn't only about fionna, it's also about Simon and how he isn't used to the Magic World, how he hates his job and how everything is like the same (like he said in episode 2) Fionna's world takes place at simon's head and everything makes sense, Fionna's world was about magic because it was Ice king's immagination, now everything is normal because it's Simon's immagination, so she isn't used to it. It makes even more sense because of every channel on her TV is the same program and how there's pictures of betty and her statue at the city and also at the pappersnew we can see ice king's crown.
Another thing that proves this right is how in fionna's world we can see 3 human banana guards and right after that we see 2 skaters, wich probably this takes place when simon is making the magic, because cake gets outside of this world when simon finishes his magic. And on episode 2 WE SEE exactly the same 3 banana guards and 2 magic mosquitoes that are using skates when Simon is walking on the forest, BEFORE making the magic with the golb statue
So it might be a weird twist on the old (but always consistent throughout the different in house reboots) DC comics trope about the multiverse, where every comic someone read about superheroes, was it’s own unique universe people thought they were thinking up, but were really signals from another dimension and interpreting it through storytelling. But in Fionna and Simon’s case, their world and mind really does seem to be directly linked, and the changes and longing Simon feels for normalcy has either transported the mind of our Fionna we know and all her friends to a world where everything is mundane, linked all their minds together in dreams, or dramatically changed Aaa into an ordinary, if a bit sitcomy, world (which is why only Cheers reruns play on tv, it’s the only sitcom Simon remembers clearly).
Actually, Fionna and Cake universe is IN Simon's head. Prismo hid that world outside the multiverse, but he did not expect to be altered once Ice King became Simon.

Honestly as someone who grew up watching adventure time and is turning 17 this year nearing adulthood and how terrified i am of it this hits like a truck
Dude you are young! I've watched Adventure time since the first episode in 2010 and finished the series. I'm 21 and this just hurts because of the song and because us fans have wished for a series about these two 😢
“I’m not really feeling like myself today”. On some level, Fionna knows that she’s no longer who she was meant to be. So much could be said about that first line.
The contrast of everything being a good yet goofy bee and puppycat/steven universe happy shining vibes while she’s singing about her depression is awesome really gets that feeling of everything seemingly being okay, sometimes awesome around us, but inside there’s always something that’s off or empty.
I love how Fionna gets the lollipop stuck in her hair, and in the immediate next shot she's apparently decided that she likes having her hair tied back. Funny.
dude i gotta say people are usually always looking into the negative side of stuff, but you can achieve your dreams of being an animatior if you so wish for, just make sure to look into the realistics of working in the industry versus freelance work and make sure to take care of yourself physically and mentally
@@biecieif he’s anything like Flame Princess, he probably broke up with her because he’s a mary sue control freak who’s like: “she made a mistake so she doesn’t deserve to be with a perfect god like me! Everyone should do exactly what I want, the way I want them to!”
@@eatinganemone89Flame princess don't broke up with Finn for that reason, Finn messed up really bad, insulting flame princess with personal things to provoke conflict with ice king for him to watch for the sake of personal pleasure was bad. Finn later matured and apologized sincerely with flame princess for what his done.
So much talent behind this. You know it had the potential to be a cringe reboot but they have the right people at the helm. And remember they are doing this show for us, the adults who were kids when AT was on. I couldn't be happier.

@@thisplatformsucksyeah I actually learned that from an English person and I was so excited to know what it meant when Fionna did it like I was part of the club or something lmao
The legend of why its seen as vulgar is because it's believed British Longbow-men back in the hundred year war had those fingers cut off by French soldiers when captured to prevent them from drawing the string of the bow. This lead to Longbow-men running off while showing the two fingers as if to say "I still got my fingers! Come and get me!" Unfortunately, there's no actual evidence for it, but its funny to think about it.
@@da_bomb_skits “off your not supposed to convey my feelings” you’re acting like your friends don’t matter to you at all yet you’re at such a young age this resentment is ridiculous
I love my friends, but since they are off to another school, I can only text them, and I barely make any friends from my school. I feel lonely, so that's why I said that hope you cna understand that
I have never heard a theme song thos catchy with lyrics this relatable. I love the part were Cake smacks Fionna's phone into the toilet after she gets dumped. Good looking out, Cake.
You can just tell by these lyrics that it is a more mature show: "Hated every job I've had what's wrong with me?" (Those who haven't figured out what career they want) "Every time I leave my room I want to die" (you know that would never be on a Disney cartoon) "Even when I'm with my friends I feel alone inside" (Feeling like no one understands you or unconnected to others)
Just the fact that it's coming from the child friendly adventure time franchise. For them to show more mature stuff, I'm happy but at the same time shocked. I still find Finn saying "suck deez nuts" hilarious
@@TheNamesArif While the resemblance was probably intentional, I'm pretty sure Finn said "suck these knucks". As in knuckles. Because he punches the bear right after saying it.
Many of us who watched Adventure Time are adults today, personally I feel very identified with the lyrics of the song, I really feel that the series grew along with the audience :")
Overall I like the shift this IP has taken, Its a noticeable shift "Okay ya'll aren't kids anymore, so we can really connect with ya'll" type vibe and that connection is ofc growing up and no longer being able to enjoy or stay in that realm of adolescence and innocence "Get a Job!" haha yeah this show will def be on my watchlist.
I am impressed on how the creators had the courage to make the show more adult like then adventure time, it was a crucial decision to pass the message they wanted
I love how this the beginning of the video starts out as like the opening to a classic sitcom intro, But then gives the audience more of an idea of what's to come in the series!
this is me everyday. not wanting to get out of bed, wanting to die, still feeling horrible with my friends even if im happy, intrusive thoughts of my life being meaningless. the cheerful tone to this song is the face i try to put on everyday. the lyrics are how i feel inside all the time. very relatable :)
Before: My life is boring i want to go on so many adventures. After going through horrible multiverses: ... I'd like my boring mundane life back please.
God I remember when the first episode when Finn had his birthday aired, it was so mind-blowing to have a cartoon character actually aging as the show went on. Now it's 10-ish years later and they've still been growing! Insanity! Now they're just like me fr fr!
i really hope the second season captures the slice of life feeling this opening captured for us its incredible i loved how the first season went through explaining stuff but id love if the full second season was just all this no magic no nothing just Fionna living her life as depicted here i think it would make a amazing show
@@z_znat he has stayed multiple times adam muto that he plans and is already writing season 2 it's waiting approval at hbo. super easy stuff to look up G
i genuinely adore this show. i haven't watched adventure time since i was a kid but one of the things i remember loving was the fun alternate universe with fionna, since i was too young to really get the whole storyline of the original and this world seemed so simple. i feel like this intro perfectly fits the comfort i found watching them in the real world now - it's not fantasy and i know they're not happy, but i really enjoy letting them have real-world problems for once. i hope that as the series goes on and they explore fantasy more we get to see fionna miss the painfully mundane!
I like how Prince Bubblegum is a baker/cafe-owner who Fionna helps to paint his hair pink and how Marshall Lee is a musician who has a mole on his neck like his bite-marks and a little bit of buckteeth to look like his fangs. Also how it's even showinf Fionna first dating and breaking up with Flame DJ and being heartbroken like Finn was over Flame Princess
I was fresh out of elementary school when Adventure Time came out and now I'm basically the same age as Fionna living in a big city, having to hold a 9 to 5 job, and living in a shitty apartment. Sound like my life but I at least enjoy my job. It gets me out of my shitty apartment.
It's sad how many of us relate to the song and it's painful to see how many of us aren't happy nor motivated in life. What's sadder is that many of those feelings are the default for many young adults
Given that the title card is "Fiona Campell" rather than "Fiona and Cake", I think this is only the intro for episode 1. Once we meet Simon and the multiverse, the intro will change to something more like Adventure Time's
i remember when i just started watching this show and this song went on like "~ everytime i leave my room i wanna die~" and i was like "what the HELL girl we're literally only 4 minutes in you're getting too real TOO FAST" like fr i just barely pressed play and this girl already laying on her young adult depression thick 😭😭 i get it girl but the show has barely started
Since the first appearance of Fiona and Cake on Adventure Time, I always wanted a spin off series of it. Although I imagined a parallel universe with the exact story, I’m glad they didn’t go this route. It looks fun, refreshing and in a way nostalgic without dragging the OG story. I still hope that they use OG story elements. Either way, I’m excited!
My first time seeing this and i’m wondering if Natasha Allegri worked on this at all?? Something about the colours and shading style just reminds me of bee and puppycat so much, it’s beautiful!!
Just did a little more research and while I can’t confirm for sure if she worked on it or not, I had no idea Allegri actually created the concept of fionna and cake!! She also worked on some comics for these guys, and on top of it all was a boarder for adventure time for 5 whole years. So even if she hasn’t worked on this at all it’d make sense for some of the style to come through as a sort of tribute! (Hopefully on purpose, that’d be much sweeter than on accident)
the way the lyrics already make sense to anyone that might hear them, but the information we get just a few episodes later casts them in a different light
Lyrics: I'm not really feeling like myself today Hated every job I've had what's wrong with me? Everyday's the same Painfully mundane 'Cause I'm running from my feelings and my fear of sudden change Everytime I leave my room I wanna die Even when I'm with my friends I'm alone inside 'Cause nothing really matters And I don't know what's sadder The fact I even try or that my hopes and dreams are shattered I'm not really feeling like myself today Heyyy
The intro was beautiful and awesome. Just when you thought the first two episodes were great, just wait till you see more. Cannot wait. Adventure Time is back and it’s bout to be better than ever!
@@midnari He's not the protagonist by any means but yeah he plays a pretty big role so far, mostly in his relationship with Simon. They don't do anything weird with him, it plays out pretty much exactly how you'd expect with him. Though that's only the first two episodes...
I like the detail that Cheers (or the universe equivalent of it) is playing on the TV in the final shot, as in one AT episode Simon sings the opening theme to the show when he has to use the crown to protect Marcy. Perhaps it was some form of coping, and he’s quite literally projecting that coping mechanism onto the characters of his psyche.
