Some women aren't looking for anything logical, they can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some women just want to watch the galaxy burn.
I like the fact that she is a prime example that not all people have a tragic past and sometimes they just want to see the world burn because they’re bored.
@@ajakakakak Destroying the world because you want to for no real reason is a pretty valid motive, its just like giving in to your intrusive thoughts but instead of once in a while its all the time
its a real reason thats what your point is, some people just enjoy being cheeky just not that destructive as the benefits or humanity that stays is still there. Trully people who allow their pride to take center stage is what causes it. I'd say part of dominator is a similar reason to hater, just actually backs up her pride. Still she is enterianly ridivolus and threating but theres a tendecy where villians just become plot device than characters leading to well another problem. Thats i prefer MCU thanos because he's a person, a Flawed person I love dominator as a challenge to Wander and charmingly hateable. They got what they work with and too much of the other can get repetive.
I like that Wander and Lord Hater answer her song at the end with a question mark. They're struggling to see her as "the bad guy" because she takes it too far. Sure, she's evil. I'm sure that part they understand. But they don't understand that a bad guy can be so *mean.*
That and as she sings at the end “or well, gurl”, implying that she’s probably dominated (no pun intended) a galaxy before Edit: that and I think that Lord Hater is Chaotic-Neutral while Lord Dominator is Chaotic-Evil like regular Doof and 2nd-Dimension Doof
@Kristopher Prime Hater is "evil" but he's also a massive dork. He's actually a lot like Doofenshmirtz, except he genuinely does want to destroy wander most of the time. But you get the feeling that if that ever happened he'd probably regret it and realize his life is kind of dull without him. And this whole episode goes to show that despite being "evil" he has room in his heart for love, and genuinely poored his heart out to dominator. Watching the whole show he always maintains that he is the greatest in the galaxy, so hearing him say "your the greatest" you know how much it means coming from him.
@@kristopherprime9837 Eh, Hater is a lot more competent than he LETS himself be. You can see it in some episodes when he decides to take his villainy seriously like when his territory or credibility is challenged by someone like Emperor Awesome, but he's so single mindedly obsessed with either catching Wander, or in this season, wooing Dominator, that he becomes predictable and easy to manipulate, so the other villains can swoop in and belittle his power or can't take him seriously.
@@thecheesefan543, I mean, Tara’s amazing in every cartoon she’s in, but Noel Wells is super underrated in the cartoon world. If wander over yonder does get a third season, she better be reprising her role as Dominator because Noel managed to make her a funny, stylish, intimidating, feminine, scary and incredibly likable cartoon villain all at the same time. #SaveWOY
@@Alia_555, finally, someone’s finally saying it! This show was JUST getting at its prime by the time it got cancelled. And the fact we didn’t get a season 3 after the season finale was a nail in the coffin for me as a WOY fan for me, dude. It really was.💔 #SaveWOY
@@thecheesefan543, I mean don’t get me wrong, Tara Strong can make anyone sound like a whimpering puppy, but Noel Wells did so well as Dominator, considering this was her first voice-acting role. And *(please don’t hate me for this, comic-con fans)* Grey Griffin or even a couple of other voice actresses wouldn’t be able to come close to what Noel had done in Dominator’s role.
Me too, she doesn't play around with her motives or give some half assed excuse about her messed up child hood. "Why are you blowing this planet up?" "It's fun" "......oh"
this is probably my favorite line from the song 1:55 the armor's voice is so robotic and lifeless and they still managed to make it sound so good singing
Fred Tatasciore is one of the best VA's out there man. My man does NOT get enough credit, but look at his cast of characters and you'll understand what I mean. You'll be surprised how many you recognize!
Tbh this is better than Billie Irish's version. Mainly because this actually sounds like something the bottom barrel type villain would sing. Not an edgy tween.
2:12 the way dominator breaks the banjo and just looks back at him while doing it is just so cool and this song is amazing also the fact dominator just wears normal socks and sneakers is what makes her such a great villain also the fact she’s just evil for the fun of it and doesn’t have some tragic sad backstory that made her this way
Dominator is the perfect villain for the show. She is the antithesis for everything wander stands for, even going out of her way to deliberately make him feel hopeless
@@gaspouillev2051 not really he does explain that he hated the dimension he grew up in because nothing understood him and he despised that everything he ever known was flat.
Well, to be fair, all not having a belly button would imply is that she wasn't born like a human would be. Perhaps her species just reproduces differently from humans or mammals in general?
This is the best villain song from any Disney show I’ve watched, it just perfectly captures that she has no motivation other then having fun by discarding the feeling of everyone else in the galaxy and wanting to crush their hopes and dreams just pure darkness in this song a brilliant villain song.
I love grey morality, I enjoy a character that can be a villain yet still have noble intentions, or tragic backstories that make them more relatable. But damn is it refreshing to have a villain who is a villain, simply cause they enjoy it. They don't try and sugarcoat it, they don't try to trick you into thinking they're nice people, they straight up say it, "I'm the bad guy and I love every single second of it" Dominator is not even evil out of greed or personal gain, she just enjoys killing people and blowing up planets cause she thinks it's hilarious
Can we just appreciate how well animated this woman is? Like, you can tell someone really knew what they were doing when it came to Dominator. Then combine it with the song, and you have a cinematic masterpiece
What makes this sad is that when Lord Dominator laughed at Lord Hater, he didn’t look surprised, he looks sad, which means that deep inside, he knew he didn’t have a shot with her.
Still love the fact that didn’t make dominator the typical redeemable villain with a tragic backstory who falls in love with hater. She’s just a borderline psychopath who enjoys inflicting pain to innocent people and destroying anything in her path. It’s like they say, “some people can’t be bought or reasoned with, some people just want to watch the world burn”
God I remember when I first found this series back in like 2013 and have been in love with it ever since, Wander over Yonder will always hold a special place in my heart for me as being one of the best cartoons I'd ever watched.
So I read this from another comment somewhere, but at 2:20-2:26 you can see when she says ‘assistance’ and ‘adulation’ at wander and lord hater she gives them a tone of annoyance and mockery to each
That's right I've heard the story over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
This song is very much hard-carried by the vocals. The instrumentals are very chaotic, despite the upbeat swing rhythm they've got going on, so her voice shifting between smooth and sultry to aggressive and excitable to even the robotic voice with her helmet on brings together the instrumentation in a way you wouldn't imagine if you were to listen to it without the vocals. You wouldn't imagine it to work, but it works SO WELL.
I mean hater does the same thing. Infact she has horns designed similar, same gloves, and "elemental power" (magma) like hater, tons if minions. Anything else they share?
@@RandomPerson-yf4ox Her whole design is meant to be a better and more menacing version of Hater. That's why their name is also similar. That's why her helmet's mask look like a skull too, and why her attire is also black, red, and white.
@@draw2death421 95% seems to be kind of an exaggeration Most villains conquer or destroy to grow their empire, etc And when they do it, they’re serious about it tbh Whereas Dominator does it cuz why not
If you see someone who wears sneakers, sings and is bad not because they’ve got a tragic past but because they find it fun, then you got a fabulous bad guy right there.
Reminds me of Halaster Blackcloak from D&D. He’s an insane goofball who is one of the cruelest people you will ever meet. He has no empathy and just decided to be insane one day to have more fun. Like Majima from Yakuza. He regularly kidnaps people and will off someone without a second glance if he finds them boring. He also is really fun to be around, does a lot of musical numbers, and wears bunny slippers with his wizard robe covered in eyes.
@@RhiorrhaOne of few cartoons through 10's that was actually made by professionals and not tumbleditas. Would you look at that, no redemption for monsters too!
Dominator is such a fun Villain, for she isn’t some tragic Villain, she’s just someone the loves to be evil, and has no regrets on doing it, it’s just really fun for her. Unlike Belos who’s evil because he thinks he’s the good guy, but he’s hateful, irredeemable, and a monster. But Dominator, she’s evil because she loves it, she still pretty fun while doing it, she unapologetically emits she’s the bad guy, she’s pretty intimidating when she gets serious, and she 99.9% completely wiped out every planet in the Galaxy, all for fun.
I think its about Roblox too. Because Roblox deleted Tix, and fans of tix already leaving. Me 2. If they will not give a 1 robux for example in day. D=
I'm not the damsel in distress. I'm not your girlfriend or the frightened princess. I'm not a little bird who needs your help to fly. Nope... I'm the bad guy. All these former villains that you see, Each of them, with shaking knees, has knelt before me. So I'm not your teammate or your partner in crime. What am I, boys? Oh, it's magic To watch a planet Shrivel up and die. Oh, it's thrillin' To be a villain. I destroy their homes and then I watch them cry Cause I'm the bad guy! Oh, ain't it fantastic? I see something, I BLAST it! And let me tell you why. (normal voice) I've always had a weakness For barrenness and bleakness. I crush all your hopes and then I watch you cry. See, I find this business rather fun! I don't want your assistance or your adulation! I'll vaporize your galaxy and bid ya bye-bye! Why? Come on, GUESS!! Or, well, girl
-She's evil just for fun -She doesn't exist just to be the main villain's love interest -battle armor while wearing sneakers and socks That's it I love her
Having her be the girlfriend of the main bad guy would've been interesting as well. I've always found it weird how she's a woman who could turn herself into a manly figure.
Clean, sharp, expressive and colorful animation for a genuinely fun and entertaining villain with an amazing song! I really wish Disney would make more unapologetically evil villains like her again; they're just so fun to watch and usually have the best songs.
