I have run into the same problem here in western Canada on slow moving gin clear water. No takes, which is why I prefer to fish in a bit of a ripple. In a ripple the fish don’t seem as finicky and strike at anything.
You're right on that. I'm always learning that's for sure. Reflecting on that trip my tippet was too light I should've fished riffle water with 6lb as the 4lb only lost me fish
Wonderful video. I just love the way you bring all the aspects of the adventure to life. I love the fact that you can talk and narate in a window at the same time the video is running. Could you please advise what softawre you use for this feature. Appreciated. Geoff
OMG! Bring back memories. Fished the same river and stayed at the same campingspot back in 2013 which was a really good cicada year over in NZ. Had 5 amazing days there. Did some night fishing in the deeper pool just outside the camp site:)
Oh superb! So happy this helped you re live that experience! That's awesome. Did you get any big fish or mostly 1-2lb? My biggest was 3 d 4lb so it seemed the spawning run is needed to get a visit from the larger fish
@@nzadventurer not any big. Most fish was around 1-2,5kg but epic fish! As i said it was a hood cicada year so they were not too spooky and was feedibg as crazy🔥
@@Pontuspalsson brilliant! It makes for an exciting day when fish are eating from the surface in a frenzy! Again I'm pleased to have helped you with that memory! All the best mate
@@jac2384 always loving an adventure plus fly fishing is life long learning if it was easy I probably wouldn't be addicted to it 😊 my channel isn't about trying to show off being rhe beat at it - it's about allowing folk at home to get a glimpse into some of the amazing adventures available in nz as not everyone has time, wellbeing or fitness to be out there adventuring. Cheers for the comments and hope you can check out a few other vids I post 🗻
