Love the trip! Is this the "long lake" you landed at with the float plane 57.12476, -130.93847 ?

Nice views and very cool video! I enjoyed it. Thank you, guys. I hike also, in Russia, solo, and understand what does it mean travelling in such wild places. Sorry, all my video are in Russian. Good luck!

I would love to do a trip like this but how do you guys not get scarred about how many wild animals there are

I’m very experienced with wolves and bears, so I’m not scared. Just have a healthy respect and (usually) take reasonable precautions. Your greater risks on a trip like this are the rapids, cold water, glacial crevasses, looks rocks, etc.

Very nice video. I'm hoping to get back out to BC later this year for some more adventures myself. This trip adds something else to the list of things to consider doing. Just subscribed!

Awesome trip, what route out did you guys take after doing My Edziza? Did you continue paddling down Mess Creek down to the Stikine?
@HinterlandOutdoors
@HinterlandOutdoors 6 месяцев назад
Thanks. We looked into paddling the creek further down but that canyon is deadly. When we arrived at Buckley Lake there was a float plane that landed. We were tight for time so we bribed them to take us on the back haul 😀.

what do you use to secure your cargo on the raft?What is working the best,cordage,paracord,straps,bungee cord like nite-ize?
@HinterlandOutdoors
@HinterlandOutdoors 4 года назад
Cargo goes IN the raft. TIZIP is the way to go. Much better than strapping a pack on. I have two lightweight dry bags and the soft stuff goes on each side of the tubes, closed to my hips. Sharp/ awkward items like ice axe, boots, crampons, and trekking poles go inside my pack, which goes inside at the rear of the raft.

@@HinterlandOutdoors just got my kokopelli rogue with spray deck this morning(by your reviews and our chats)i din't choose the tizip,i like to have quick acces to my stuff and don't really want to empty the air of the raft to get someting but i see than it can be helpful to have,maybe later but not for 2020 :)I will carry a mountain bike and my seekoutside gila backpack...what are you suggest me as cordages?I thought about some Nite-ize bungee cord but maybe isn't strong enought for a bike?
@HinterlandOutdoors
@HinterlandOutdoors 4 года назад
@@229Reaper Yeah I can fit all my stuff for the day in my PFD and drysuit pockets. Or sometimes I used a small drybag behind the backrest. Nalgene bottle works too (as we can drink from the creeks 90% of the time) so can put dry goods in there. Don't use any straps that can come off or stretch (like bungees or paracord.) That would be an entanglement hazard. Use polylester (not nylon) cam straps, 3/4 inch or so wide. Nylon can stretch and slip when wet.
