I am 67 yo and my wife is 64 yo and will be going om our 21st Carnival cruise and we LOVE THE FUN!!!! We participate in games, the shows and the dancing in the MDR!!!!! You may get as many as 100 who have cruised this year so back him up. My wife and I both boogey with the servers in the meal!!!

As a couple over 65, we choose Carnival for their fun. Sail away party, MDR entertainment, all the fun shows, 80's Rock & Glow is our favorite. BTW I am a watcher my wife likes to participate we both are very happy. Mark: Please stay home, you don't need a stick in your butt there.

My family and I have sailed exclusively on Carnival precisely BECAUSE of the FUN! From the Sail Away party on the Lido on embarkation day to the singing and dancing in the MDR to finding a new favorite photographer on each cruise to all of the other FUN interactions with all of the crew members, we look forward to the FUN. I would be severely disappointed if Carnival were to suddenly stop one of the things that makes their cruises so memorable just because of one sourpuss.

I am not wild about the show in the MDR, BUT I just overlook it, enjoy my meal and let everyone else enjoy the show. I don't cruise Carnival very oftern. I do like having a conversation with my fellow table mates. But this is me, and I realize that.

Well unfortunately or fortunately I’ve only sailed on carnival. But it’s called the fun ship for a good reason. ITS FUN. I love showtime. The sail away party the all white party. I m 63 and love the fun ship. So whom ever you are who don’t like fun you’re on the wrong ship

My wife and I did a Carnival cruise in the late 90's, we were in our 40s and the cruise was fine. We are now in our 60s and we prefer NCL. I'm not going to condemn Carnival for having the "Fun Ships" with the VIFP (Very Important FUN People), heck we might even do a Carnival cruise again. Mark should try a cruise line that may be more to his liking rather than bashing Carnival.

We got caught in the tail end of a hurricane on the way to Mexico. It was a bit scary at first but Carnival had it under control in no time. We were on the pride and the waves and swells were huge. Of course, no one could go back outside but in no time Carnival had tons of FUN things to do inside. Outside of feeling drunk as I staggered back to my cabin, everything turned out.

OMG, I love ShoooooowTime. I get up and dance and sing. I have done the Congo and danced on the empty table next to us. I have danced with waiters while they were singing "Hot Hot Hot" and "Despacito". And I even got to do the Samba with our waiter in January of 2023.. That is one of the reasons I love the MDR.

My husband and I were in the Freedom the 1st time it caught fire. The crew handled everything professionally and managed the situation extremely well.

If Mark wants to miss showtime he can eat faster if in set dining or time his dinner to miss showtime if in YTD. There is usually about 10 minutes between the first “showtime” announcement and the beginning of the show. For set dining it is towards the end of the service, so get your dessert to go if you hate it that much.

The last Carnival cruise I was on had the showtime stuff in the specialty restaurants as well. I thought I was getting away from it. I was wrong. I hate the showtime.

Mark needs to stay home. I personally enjoy watching the wait staff entertaining us and having fun. Having fun and meeting new people is one of the reasons I cruise..

Singing and dancing in the dining room was normal on most cruise lines back in the day. Carnival may be the only line who still does it. I really miss it.

Royal Does have some dancing in the MDR. Not every night, but they still do it. Harmony has a Conga line going.

I can usually take it or leave it. Oddly enough, I always get a kick out of the song and dance in the Cucina Del Capitano. Certainly not complaint worthy. He needs to visit the Alchemy Bar until the world seems more fun.

Someone like “Mark” who is only looking for the negatives on a Cruise is a very dangerous person. I hope Carnival takes his grievances seriously and considers not allowing him to sail on future Carnival Cruises. He sounds like someone who mentally isn’t “wrapped too tight”

Oh, I’m down for the fun poolside, at sail away, etc. I am not down for the show RCL does. All dinner service stops. Overloud music plays while some one finishes the song with a reminder of how hard everyone works and that we need to remember them on the last night. The MDR service is slow enough and the food is already room temp. If they want music, hire trios of musicians from different countries to play that music. That would be fun.

I have sailed when a passenger had to be life-flighted off the ship, and another time where there was a woman overboard that we had to search for. Luckily I’ve never experienced ship problems.

Royal Caribbean's MDR staff will sometimes dance, or do a Kongo line type of thing, especially on the last night of the cruise as a farewell. On the Wonder, they did it in the entrance of the Windjammer buffet the last day of the cruise, not parading around so people can easily navigate around. I t was hilarious! I got a good laugh from it! As long as they're not standing right on top of me, then dance and sing away! Plus, it's not like they're doing it outside your stateroom!

If showtime in the main dining room on carnival bothers you that much, like Derek said, there are many other options to choose from for dining. Do you want to eat in the main dining room then when you check in request a table in a back corner typically Showtime occurs in the center of the dining room, and frankly back by the windows the very aft of the ship yeah hardly notice it’s even going on. Yes you hear a crewmember sing a song but in the back corner, it’s not as in your face, as it would be more towards the center.

If Marc’s pockets are deep enough, perhaps a better fit for him might be a cruise lines like Cunard (by Carnival Corp) Seaborne (by Carnival Corp), Silver Seas (by Royal Caribbean Int), Oceania (by Norwegian), Windsor, Viking, Crystal or maybe the Ritz Yacht Club; the point is that there are so many other cruise brands to choose from if one particular line isn’t your cup of tea, so just leave the Fun Ships to the the hundreds of thousands of us who enjoys them and Marc can continue to search for his cruise line of choice!

Carnival passenger Mark needed to loosen up and have a great time. As I recall Carnival is considered the party cruise line, maybe he should either stay at home or choose another cruise line. Carnival keep the fun and peppy dinner entertainment coming.

If you don’t like showtime, I highly suggest that you choose your time dining. Check in as soon as the dining room opens up, review the menu ahead of time, so you know exactly what you want. As soon as the waiter comes over, tell them, you are already to order put your order in more than likely you will be done eating before showtime even starts.

Love the waiters singing znd dancing, been cruising on Carnival since 1980 and would really miss this entertainment. Tell him to pick on your time dinning and go at 5:30 , probably will miss the entertainment unless he lingers over his dessert.

Sometimes Showtime annoys me. Sometimes it doesn't. Other times I get up and dance with the waitstaff. The times that I'm annoyed usually coincide with not having my food yet. LOL!

We try to get in early so we can be out before Showtime starts. We do not object to Showtime. I sometimes have problems with the volume and the flashing lights. I have been light sensitive my whole life. As I have gotten older, I have become sensitive in loud noises. Sounds strange for someone slowly losing their hearing. The combination bright lights and loud music can set off migraines. For my wife, and others we know, the combination can set off her PTSD. We are not asking for Showtime to end, just to be able to enjoy our meal and leave before it starts.

Sorry, gotta agree with Mark. The singing and dancing in the MDR is an unwelcome intrusion! It isn't fun, it's embarassing and delays getting your food and served up hot and fresh.
