This hits even harder when you remember that Chrom said at the end of Chapter 12 that he didn’t want baby Lucina to grow up without her mother and father.
Damn, I can't even imagine what Lucina must have been going through up to that point. Coming to the past, having a chance to see her parents alive again after what was for her years of them being dead, yet being unable to say who she was. Having to spend two years alone, keeping her distance, probably watching over her family from afar. Two years alone, not know what happened to friends, not know if they were even alive or dead, having last seen them entering the portal leading to the past only for them to not emerge on the other side with her. Then, after all of that, when she finally reveals who she is to her father, the first thing Chrom does is apologies to her for everything that happened to her, having realised that she comes from a future where he failed his daughter, where he left her "with nothing more than a sword and a world of troubles". Its no wonder she broke down then, letting everything she'd bottled up for years out at that very moment.
manga292 finally gave a watch to knights of sidonia, its really good. and you were right about the aesthetics/graphics, its very similar. the big difference is forests vs space ships.

***** There was a marriage system type thing in "Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War" on the super nintendo. However, it never got released in the U.S. and it wasn't as "waifu-ish" as it was in awakening.
AmericanBuizel Yeah it is a bit much but hey, I found it to be kind of cute and it makes classic mode a lot more stressful if you're attached to the character you married. **shrugs** but hey the whole 'waifu' thing is pretty overdone.
This. This single cinematic proves without a doubt that strong, intense storytelling CAN come in the package of a mobile game. Gravity Rush on my Vita is a close second to this game, but FE:A is cutting edge storytelling and game mechanics and it comes on a 3DS game cartridge.
Check out kid Icarus uprising. You will love it for its story telling. One of the best 3ds games(and video games in general). The consoles are a little tough at first but you will quickly get the hang of it.

This is how you do emotional weight in anything. This scene was very touching. I cried for 3 mins straight. And when Chrom wiped her tears away, I couldn’t help but start crying

This is my favorite scene of Fire Emblem. I feel as if I can feel a bit of what Lucina felt. This scene is so emotional but that's what I love about it.
I'm pretty sure tears don't go down this fast. But I digress. The reunion of Lucina and her father, Chrom is one of gaming's finest moments in my opinion. I love it. It's so heartwarming and I am NOT an emotional guy. This took me by surprise. Such a beautiful moment.
Yeah, I mean, think about it, Luciel went through SO much, she lived in a place where her dad failed her and left her with a sword and a world of troubles, and then she comes back to the past, and when she passes the portal, she doesn't know if she'll see her friends ever again, and she saw her parents, alive, yet she couldn't be close with them and had to keep a distance, She had to bottle up all of that, and seeing it come out is just so heartwarming and it just makes you cry a river.
I’m not very emotional either, but this one makes me tear up, cause it’s my own daughter, but I love our reunion, but I feel I should’ve done better, I feel I could’ve saved her from having to go through all of that! I’ll do anything for her, I’ll protect her as much as I possibly can!!
this scene, it always gets me, I my first playthrough I had actully tears flowing down on this movies, dosen't happen as much But I still feel like i'm gonna cry....and not many video games can make me do tha6
Christian Brown this and Emmryn and Basillio are the only moments(yet to finish awakening) to actually make me cry playing this. Like God damn the story telling is amazing m
The Sacred Stones was how I got into Fire Emblem to begin with. I never turned back once I experienced it more. I've played alot of these games up to now. Even so, I got just back into this game, and wow, this part hits me good. Fire Emblem is one of few impacts Im fortunate to cherish and play~
Ikr, (I mean, if I had played the game NOW, I would have definitely fall for "Marth" but when I played Fire Emblem Awakening, in the demo at the time I was like, "Why are you calling her a he? That's definitely a girl!!" I used to be so smart, - v -)
I remembered my first time playing the game, I named My character Marth because of Smash and when Lucina claimed to be Marth, I was confused by the dialogue until she revealed herself
I cried too much when Lucina had tears in her eyes...poor child! And the music in this cutscene is another version of the Soundtrack "You May Call Me Marth"
Tbh that hyper realistic transition into Lucina’s eye with the brand of the exalt in 3D threw me off, but in a good way. This was my first Fire emblem game. The music and the story were amazing. This moment tho… 😭
Validar has made 21 accounts.... I want Lucina to do a Draymond Green and kick Validar in the balls. Then I want Chrom to dislocate Validar’s arms, like what Sergio Ramos did to Mo Salah. After that, I want Robin (both Male and Female) to walk towards Validar with an iPod, which they will use to force Validar to listen to “Friday”, “Gucci Gang”, and “Chinese Food” for the rest of his godforsaken life.
Movies like Back To The Future & shows like Doctor Who teach us that when time traveling to the past or future you never ever come into contact with your future/past self or any of your loved ones less by consequence some big catastrophe occurs that threatens both space, time & all of Humanity. Great to see someone go completely against the status quo for a change & make it so that family from both the present & future meeting & knowing about 1 other is a main plotline of the story!!! A fresh spin on the classic time travel genre!!! Big props to you Nintendo & Intelligent Systems :)
+DragonHeart613 Those two examples run a different theory for time travel. All three are very common though in fiction. BttF runs on the Butterfly Effect Theory which indicates that time runs in one straight line and that going back and changing anything no matter how minor, will then completely erase and change the events of the future you came from. Doctor Who runs on Web Theory which indicates that you can change certain minor things without the web of time being disrupted since time usually goes to back to it's original course somehow. Both run on the idea that a parodox occurs when you interact with, or prevent the existence of, yourself. However games like this, Ocarina of Time, and shows like Dragon Ball Z operate on Multiverse theory. Wherein travelling back in time and changing a decision creates a parallel universe of which you've become a part of as a seperate entity, while your universe where the decision was never changed still exists. Thereby, this prevents the problem of a paradox when interacting with yourself or your parents or things like that.
Everything Chrom does in this one scene just screams; "I love my daughter, and I hate the fact that I failed her, but I swear to the Gods that I WILL right this wrong!"

Sumia: Sadly picking petals off a flower Sully: Aggressively swings her sword around and calls Lucina (not knowing it's her future daughter) a hussy Olivia: Cries while facing away from Chrom Maribelle: Shivers angrily and contemplates slapping Chrom Female Avatar: Calm for the most part, saying that she still trusts Chrom but is a little suspicious about why he and Lucina were alone
this scene made me tear up when I first saw this scene. I love Lucina so much she is like me brave, not shy, likes helping others and she likes her people to be safe
In case you're wondering who does the voice for Marth (or rather Lucina), it's Laura Bailey, who is best known for her roles as Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist (and its retelling, Brotherhood, though only in a few episodes, as Lust doesn't last long in that series), Rise from Persona 4, and Maka from Soul Eater.
I never played this game I heard a Fire Emblem but I never played the game but this scene makes me want to cry every time I can’t watch it without crying and I have a Lucina plush that makes it more sad

Are you kidding? Lucina's my favorite character in Fire Emblem Awakening. She's a noble woman warrior who is strong and is ready to do anything to save her future. How can that be boring?
0:42 That fucking hand clench that Chrom does when he goes to wipe away her tear like he's trying to figure out if she even wants his comfort before he goes for it. One of those details that they didn't need to include but adds so much to the scene.
At least Chrom took this surprising revelation well, unlike Dimitri finding out that Edelgard was also the Flame Emperor in Three Houses (to the point that he became an a-hole after the timeskip), and Alm finding out he committed patricide by killing Rudolf in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (though thankfully, he did not become a complete jerk like Dimitri did)!
