Fire Emblem Character Spotlight: Oboro 

I just realized that Oboro has batman's backstory, Beruka has batman's abilities, and Gerome looks and acts like batman. FE BATMAN TRILOGY CONFIRMED!

a couple things to say about Oboro: 1. guard naginata makes everybody tanky. It may be considered cheating, but Oboro can immediately use the guard naginata that comes with Hinoka, allowing her to be better than an armor knight right from the get go and still maintain that momentum in durability throughout the game. While someone like Silas could use it, Oboro already comes with guaranteed good stats and C rank naginatas. Combined with defense and speed seal and you have a reason to pick her as your tank over Silas. 2. People pick apothecary for the mechanist class for obvious reasons. However, one can skip all of these class changes simply go buying these skills online. Seriously, no need to grind for skills anymore when buying from other people is so much easier. 3. You can have a hilarious amount of fun with swap. One tactic I love using his having Takumi snipe at something, then swap him out so Oboro can tank the blow instead. 4. Who here agrees that she's top tier both in gameplay and waifu in birthright?

I love how you put in the death scene of Oboro in your birthright run to add more salt to the wounds of Oboro fanboys. I may be upset, but it is still hilarious.

Actually, there is some reason to reclass her into either Merchant or Mechanist. First, Mechanist offers Replicate, which creates a replica of herself that will basically allow her to act in two places at once. She also can get the two apothecary skills on her way in the Merchant class (which can use lances/naginatas) and grab skills that allow her to both get more from vulunaries, concoctions and Elixiers, as well as making them not cost her turn, so she can pop a healing pot before she attacks. Not only that, but the level 15 skill in Merchant combos beautifully with a brave lance wielding spearmaster, as it allows the player to spend a gold bar to get +10 damage dealt, as well as -10 damage taken. Other gameplay options are to marry her to either Subaki or Silas then partner seal to their class. Afterall, Both Paladins and the Sky Knight lines are excellent, and Oboro can perform well in both. About her character, she's actually one of the few 'broad' characters that isn't just defined by a single troupe. Few of her supports feel like it's repeating the same thing over and over, which is rare for Fates.

Cormag, one of the best wyvern riders in the series, must have a spotlight too.

When talking about Apothecary you say Nohrian Archer. I assume you mean Outlaw, since Archer is a Hoshidan class. Also, nice to see you talk about class skills a little, although I'd disagree with changing just for Rend Heaven being a lot of effort for one skill. Since you can still work on lance rank as a Basara and can promote right into one, the only thing you lose in the process is the gold for a heart seal, which isn't a very big deal in Revelation and especially Birthright, and in exchange you get arguably the best offensive skill in the game on a high-skill unit.

You didn't mention Quixotic. A lot of people don't appreciate how amazing that skill is with the right build, though if you only have one proc, I can understand why it's not ideal for Oboro. Unless she marries somebody with great knight or swordmaster.

I actually made my Oboro a Merchant because it allow's her to continue using lances/naginata while adding variety to her usable weapons and allowing her to fight other Lance and Shuriken users better.

I would love to see Takumi, Shura, Gunter and Charlotte.

One thing that you CAN do with Oboro in Apothecary is promote her to Mechanist. Mechanists have probably the best skill in the game, Replicate. Replicate allows two copies of one character and they share the same health. Basically, an example can be a unit fighting while another heals the self.

Will you consider doing a spotlight for Subaki (the first playable male Pegasus Knight/Sky Knight if I'm not mistaken; also the father of Caeldori). He has some really weird stats for a Sky Knight.

*Lowkey had a basara oboro with the guard naginata with silas accompanying her making her have over 43 defense and res so I kinda over relied on her in revaluations to the point all my other units got under leveled ._. and then in heroes I make a 50+ res and defence oboro that I also over rely on in that game and yet I still havent S ranked her in either of my play throughs .-.*

Oboro with Guard Naginata is insanely good in Earlygame of both Birthright and Revelation, even in Lunatic mode, with that +5 Defense and Resistance boost which can even let her be a decent magic tank. And with the forge system she can keep up with the damage output by forging them! I think she is a pretty op unit, since Birthright is pretty easy even in Lunatic, and Revelation is generous with statboosters that can fill her weaknesses if she will be eventually screwed by her balanced growths.

I don't even think it's messed up that Mangs let Oboro die. Rather the constant giggle he has in his voice when he talks about it lmao Great video!

Actually I wish to see this spotlight after Revelation LP, because what I consider the best part about Oboro as a character is her support conversation with Beruka (although you could say it is just Jaffar 2.0). As a unit she is very solid. At least in the first half of the game. Her flaw is too balanced, all her stats won't be very bad but also won't be very good at end game (if you never reclass her).

Oh dear, I love Oboro so much! In my revelations playthrough she is with Benny my top tanks. I kinda regret not using here so much back in my Birthright playthrough

Oboro shredded Xander in the Opera-Chapter in my Playthrough of Birthright. It was quite entertaining to see her chip away at the nohrian prince. xD (Took a while though, but got Sakura to lvl 19, so worth it!)

She's an excellent "water-carrier", but I personally like my medium tank units to be a little more explosive.

Here's a reason to play Apothecary Oboro: to promote her to a Merchant. Merchants can use naginata as well as yumi, and it'll also give Oboro access to "Profiteer" and the apothecary's special vulnerary-related skills. Sure, she's no Spear Master- in fact, I usually change her back once those skills are in her arsenal- but she could become a debuff queen as well as a gold mine. Actually, that's what I did on my run of Birthright...

apothecary actually has a lot of great skills, like replicate, spendthrift, potent potion, and quick salve, so you can get a lot out of reclassing pretty much anyone to that class

Huh. The second I got Oboro she basically was my main tank. And this was on Hard too. Just about everyone physical enemy consistently did less than 3 damage to her, even before her promotion. But I'm pretty sure every single level up she got a Defense growth, so Oboro ended up pretty busted. And I don't even think magic fazed her either, especially with a Guard Naginata. Maybe I just got absurdly lucky and my Oboro is the exception, rather than the norm :/

I really like Oboro, certainly one of my favorites in Birthright. Too bad the route itself was so bad I doubt I ever feel like doing that again. At least Revelations was pretty cool. If you're still doing only Fates characters I'd like to see Shura, otherwise it's gotta be Marty from Thracia.

I'd like to see a spotlight on Odin, Selena, or Laslow, or maybe group them together since the kinda work best as a trio. I thought they were going to be simple fanservice, but their support convos are all really interesting and provide a lot of depth.

Oboro's a pretty cool character. Pretty Design. Reliable Unit. My favorite support of hers has to be Rinkahs since it doesn't rely on her gimmicks, and least favorite is Hayato since it does just the opposite. Seal Defense isn't that useful in BR since any enemy should get 2RKOd. Ninjas honestly do the debuffing job better. Enmity, Swap, and Seal Speed are pretty handy tho. Mechanist is my favorite class for her since 7 mov and Shurikens are better than 6 mov and sharing the javelin.

Honestly on my first playthrough of Birthright, Oboro was unstoppable, only having to be slightly weary of mages, not to mention she solo'd that one chapter with all the Wilfskin enemies

Recently got Fates, my Oboro has been pretty stat blessed in my first play through in strength, speed, and defense with ok res, still would have her away from promoted mages and Leo and Camilla. So far she's been my Birthright version of Effie, almost, a close second to Effie's defense though and I haven't used stat items on her. My main frontline other than Corrin in birthright have been Oboro and Rinkah

Lol you didn't even mention the skill Quixotic, which Basara learn at level 15. Quixotic is when the user is in battle, this skill increases both the Hit Rate by 30 and Skill activation rate by 15 for both the user and the enemy. So not only do you get a particularly nasty skill in Rend Heaven, you then get to put it to especially good use with Quixotic. The Basara line gets arguably some of the best proc skills in the game.

I would like to see a spotlight on Hana. In my opinion, she is almost as good as Ryoma, as enemies consistently have a 0-30% hit rate against her when she is equipped with a Sunrise Katana or the S Rank one, which gives her +20 avoid. Along with Duelist's Blow, which gives +30 avoid when she attacks, nothing aside from Lances and Hidden Weapons should touch her.

You should to cover Wolf from Shadow Dragon and FE 12.
