This scene could not be anymore fire emblem. Wacky characters from all walks of life come together to recruit enemy soldiers/children in their war. #thesimpsons #fireemblem #homersimpson
I feel like this is a rather accurate description for most FE parties, or at least ones in more modern games maybe. Many of the characters are quite loaded with quirks and I wouldn't be surprised if that's how most outsiders end up viewing them before they join.
More like a casual mode line because of those last words (now that i think of it, it would be unique that instead of dying, he retreats but leaves your army)
@@nikolayrodriguez272 that did happen, the worst case is win. Two characters were connected so if one died, or was about to die, the other would leave with them.
Unfortunately, Jimbo isn't that good of a unit. It's bad enough that he's a bag of doorknobs-locked infantry unit, but his low Skill means he struggles to hit anything, and his low Con severely limits the sacks of doorknobs he can even use without getting weighed down.
@@MrDuncanBelfast actually, the bag of doorknobs is empty, so it has a special effect to put enemies to sleep when hit, it also has high hit, and high crit, along with very low weight, sadly it's a personal weapon to Jimbo so other units like Homer or Bart can't use them.
@@toolatetothestory How high must Chrom have been to find some dude unconscious in a field and think "this guy's a tactical genius! Put him in charge!"
I miss when FE recruitments actually worked like this, where you just picked up randos off the streets and they joined your merry ragtag band of misfits.
@@nahguacm I think the archers are very bad in a game where enemy phase is important. Based on the meta, paladins, warriors, and heroes dominate enemy phases.
Because its a fire emblem joke wearing the skin of the simpsons. That joke was really good though, especially so if you havent played any fire emblem games.
@@georgspielberger9780 Simpsons Tactics. You control the militias of, Bart, Homer, Marge, and Lisa as they go across Springfield to conquer and find the lost Krusty Key, that will lead to the Krusty's Cave! Where infinite riches await!
@@LelouchOnTwi On their way they recruit different types of characters with different kinds of units, while also facing off against all kinds of antagonists that want the Krusty Key for themselves or try to prevent anyone from obtaining it as it's also believed to be a harbinger of disaster
"After the war, Jimbo returned to his village, resuming his duties as elementary school bully. Some claim that the doorknobs he stole were never returned, and to this day, people remain unable to enter their homes."
Kid: Can i join your army? Lord: You're a kid. It's too dangerous and i would feel horrible if you died. Kid: I've had a bit of sword training. Lord: ok, you're in.
You forgot the part where the parent(s) are instantly convinced to allow them to enlist in an army despite being a literal child. Mom: No Billy you're like 12 you don't know what you're saying. Kid: But Mom I want to do this Lord: Yeah he wants to do this Mom: Ok
@@CenturyBlade Reminds me of Ross and Garcia. Although this one is a bit different since Garcia's a retired soldier who joins you too alongside his son. Ross's speech to his dad is great. Their supports also tie into this a bit, with Garcia telling Ross not to be too reckless because he doesn't want him to die. He may be a tough kid, but he's still just a kid. And then there's Lugh, who's an orphan and has no parents to tell him no! Though his support with Ellen confronts him being a child soldier, with Ellen thinking Lugh shouldn't be here because he's 13. Lugh literally retorts with "But I'm only two years younger than Roy!" Roy, the literal leader of the army. Ellen just passes that off as "Well, he doesn't have a choice." And Lugh has to prove to Ellen that he can defend himself. I'm a big GBA nerd so I don't know how well the modern games confront child soldiers, but the GBA games did a pretty good job.
@@cultofmel You stated you don't normally comment correcting the grammar of others (implying you were trying to correct and help him) .. but you didn't leave a correction...So what was the purpose of your post?
@@zaneheaston8254 dunno, 90% of the cast is underage in the first half. But that might apply to most FEs. Definitely about that proportion in Valentía, FE4 gen 2, awakening and fates offsprings...
That's how most wars are fought unfortunately. Some children have no choice but to fight I am pretty sure this picture is painted pretty well when Prince Marth's entire kingdom was destroyed. Imagine being the heir to a throne which was taken. That's the type of perspective you have to understand here. It doesn't look that serious especially with NES, SNES or DS graphics(maybe a little more here) but the scenario is actually quite grim. You see this trope often in the series too and it's also a part of our dark history of warring. If you watch the Fire Emblem OVA conflict is depicted with a lot more seriously.
@Steamed Sam falls off end game unless you use all your strength and dex items on him but he's a very safe choice to deal with rear spawning reinforcements with zero investments.
@@Vanessomatic Jimbo can also recruit Nelson who has a monstrous strength Stat with a serviceable amount of Dexterity. This alone makes Jimbo worth it in my opinion
@@secondmemelord8859The real kicker is when you use him to get Kearney, since his son joins you immefiately after the timeskip, giving you an extra unit in the early second generation while you fill your roster again.
Everyone:"These legendary weapons are very strong but we have to be careful from using them too much or they'll break down." Donnie:"Your weapons degrade?"
@@luisfilipe2747 yeah, older games were far more about identifying potential recruits and talking to them with the right character. now very few units start out as neutral/enemies, and if they do then you talk to them with the main character
@@luisfilipe2747thracia in particular is crazy- you have like two characters who were unrepentant bandits joining your crew cuz you're that desperate to have anyone join you
FE: Blazing Blade is such a good FE game, the recruitment mechanic out there is phenomenal; gave us a good dialogue/storytale which I very much enjoyed.
My favorite recruits are when you randomly enter a town and instead of getting tips on how to beat the boss, you walk out with someone you'll probably just shuffle into the deck and never use.
The only issue is Niles is... Not very good. Makes actually utilizing capture pretty hard. Orochi is no shining star of a unit either, but hitting Res and being in the easier route definitely make her feel better at it
He probably has some kinda overpowered promotion with special secret doorknob you can get from that one door to a tree house which is at the middle of that location with multiple houses surrounding a tree.
A funny thing is that you gain an Empty Sack in Jimbo’s inventory upon recruiting him, but Homer was the one that supplied it to him. Dude found a way to hold onto it without using up an inventory slot.
I hate that the modern Fire Emblem games moved away from this. I liked that you had to use context clues to figure out who to send to recruitable units instead of it being automatic or just sending your Lord to talk to them every single time.
Hey, this one enemy has a portrait, maybe I should have this one unit talk to him. Oh, those two specifically are Childhood friends and now he’s on my side? Sweet.
I love how doorknobs are generally understood as an undiscarded household item that can be repurposed as a weapon yet there's a expectation to specifically resupply these yourself because no one actually has doorknobs laying around
This was extremely unexpected at showing up in my recommendations. I would have never thought ever to combine the Simpsons with fire emblem. I don't know what was going on or what you were doing that made you think about this idea but this is genius😂
The details i found in this meme: 1. Homers portrait 2. 4 blue guys on the game, 4 characters on this simpson episode. 3. The color change from enemy (red) to playable ally (blue) 4. The dialogue boxes. Lol goodjob pretty well crafted meme.
Miss the times when Fire Emblem was less about nurturing big booba waifus for crafting the perfect couple and more a merry band of stinky world savers recruiting the first kid with attitude they found looking inside trash cans in an alley.
I miss the good old days when units had the stupidest reasons for joining the crew. Like "Well the rest of my family are dead, I guess I'll join your small, ragtag militia cuz I don't have anywhere else I gotta be."
