It’s kind of funny, Azure Moon’s ending is probably the simplest of these cutscenes, and yet it feels like the most impactful of the four

SS is still the saddest ending. Dmitri's dead, Edelgard's dead, Rhea's dead, Claude is either dead or his ambitions have been squashed and he's disappeared.

I still cannot conceive how nemesis wasn't the final boss of silver snow, literally the first cutscene of the game has rhea kill nemesis.

As someone who just finished murdering Nemesis being all bedazzled by Claude's slick move, I was like "Ooh I wonder how the other cutscenes do it. What's Dimi's final attack against Nemesis? How does Edelgard distract him?" Only to find out they have ENTIRELY different endings with EACH one ending sooner than the last one xD

Crimson Flower= Emotional Silver Snow= Encorageous Azure Moon= Poetic Verdant Wind= Satisfactory Conclusion: Every ending is epic in his own way, it's up to us which one is our favourite, in my case it has to be Azure Moon without any doubt

I love golden deers and blue lions routes, dimitri one is best developed and so the most sentimentally touched, but man golden deers is the most epic (for end) and full of claude’s charm and joyful. Man i like a lot both 🌟

Verdant Wind will always be my favorite and most satisfactory ending. We are able to make genuine change, take down the true enemy working in the shadows, and bring peace to Fodlan without compromising our morals and making questionable decisions. Claude’s whole ideology is that even though he isn’t a fan of the church, he understands too many people, worshipping some sort of deity is part of their identity/culture and brings them comfort. His vision tries to appease as many people as possible, trying to break down barriers and allow people of different cultures, beliefs, and ethnicity to come together and stoll get along. Crimson Flower is far too extreme in the methods Edelgard takes to achieve her ambitions. Edelgard’s vision is the emphasis of the ends justifying the means. To alot of people (especially fans of this route) they completely agree with this idea and don’t see much wrong with it but Edelgard and his methods always make me sick. Azure Moon is honestly such a bittersweet route. In the end, we make almost no difference. We ultimately save Dimitri who has suffered so much up to this point but all we do is help the church gain an even more solid footing. It’s honestly the most emotional route but unfortunately the ending is anything but happy. Silver Snow is an ending I almost always forget about. In a way, it’s the ending where nothing changes. The church gains an even higher threshold of power compared to any other route. Probably my least favorite ending (then again I’m only really happy with Verdant Wind’s ending, allothers just make me angry or sad)

Azure Moon's ending cutscene is my favorite. Simple, but elegant. It has so many things hidden in it, and furthermore, it is open to interpretation. That is my favorite part about it. Azure Moon is the "traditional" Fire Emblem route, but is so driven by the characters, and not slowed down by TWSITD. The last action taken by Edelgard, was a way of giving back Dimitri's gift, as a way of telling him to cut his own path, from then on. The frown on Dimitri's face isn't one of physical pain, it's emotional pain. He just killed a person dear to him, with his attempt to reconcile with Edelgard having failed.

Say what you will about Silver Snow, but it has some amazing OST’s.

I only noticed now that the scene in 0:26 greatly mirrors Dimitri's death in CF. The victor's appearance however is all you need to know about these two.

I think I like Azure moon's ending the best, it just makes for the most cohesive story with an emotionally packed end. Sometimes I felt like the TWSITT plot kinda dragged down crimson flower and verdant wind so it was harder to connect to the story. Because Azure moon is so character driven it hurts even more to see dimitri offer edelgard mercy because they're childhood friends and to get the dagger he gifted her in return :(

I still find it amazing how they incorporated the bit about Byleth having a pulse but not a heartbeat into the CF ending.

My quick thoughts on each ending: *Azure Moon:* Easily the most emotional ending, and the one with the best final scene in my opinion. It has literally one word of dialogue, yet it feels so much more impactful and deep than all the other endings, massive props for that. The only thing that drags it down is that there is so much that just doesn't get addressed here; Rhea doesn't make an appearance post-timeskip, we never learn what actually happened with Dimitri's step-mother, and TWSitD are never really dealt with properly. Having said that, this is still the route that has the largest amount of surviving characters, as well as the best writing in general, so it's still a very solid conclusion to the story. I also really like that Fodláns power structure is _shared_ between Byleth and Dimitri, so in terms of government I think this is the best ending for Fodlán all things considered. *Crimson Flower:* The final fight here is cool, and I do really like that Byleth regains their humanity in the end. It does however suffer from basically ending on a cliffhanger, with the conflict with TWSitD apparently just happening offscreen. For me personally it's also dragged down by the fact that I just don't think Edelgard and Hubert are very sympathetic, so seeing who I would consider the villains just win with no consequences for their actions does leave a sour taste in my mouth. Still glad it's an option to side with Edelgard though, but it does sort of feel like a glorified bad end. *Silver Snow:* I like the final cutscene with Rhea... and that's pretty much it. This is just not at all a good ending in my opinion, the final boss comes out of literally nowhere, and you basically just win the war by letting everyone else slaughter each other and then taking over when no one's left to oppose you anymore. I honestly dislike this entire route so much that I think it should have been cut from the game. Imagine if the all time they wasted on Silver Snow was instead spent on adding more to the other three? *Verdant Wind:* In my opinion this is easily the most complete ending of the bunch. The final cutscene with Nemesis is awesome (if very cheesy), and this is the only ending that seems to actually be happy in tone as opposed to the other three who felt more bittersweet. Another thing that separates it from the other three routes I feel like this is the only ending that didn't leave me with a bunch of unanswered questions, as I felt like basically every important plot detail was addressed at some point in the story. If I were to rank the four endings, it would be *Azure Moon > Verdant Wind >> Crimson Flower >>>>> Silver Snow,* which is interestingly how I would rank the routes as a whole, so take from that what you will. Verdant Wind gets props for feeling complete and upbeat, while Crimson Flower deserves credit for feeling more unique than the rest, but at the end of the day Azure Moon just has to take home the win for me. It's still far from perfect (I really wish they did more to wrap up all the loose ends of the story), but the writing and cinematography is just so far above any of the other endings, as well as Dimitri being in my opinion a much better leader than the other two, so to me there's little doubt it's the best conclusion to the story overall. EDIT: Upon replaying the game I changed my mind slightly, and I would now say I think Azure Moon is the best ending overall. Most of my comment has been left untouched aside from the final paragraph though.

Golden deer 4 life, 💛 yet have to admit edgelords few words in the cutscene were the most on point and a suiting ending :D i personally still think of the golden deer ending as the best tho :p

I'm very much in agreement that Crimson Flower should've ended with Those Who Slither In The Dark. Would've been a neat end to Edelgard's story, ending where her motivations began. Though in Intelligent System's defense Crimson Flower was possibly at the tail end of development with it being the secret route so they might have rwn out of time (a bit backed up by the lack of anime cutscenes compared to all the other routes). I also agree with the dislike of Silver Snow but oddly I think it all makes Silver Snow a good starting point as it can peak your interest for the rest of the cast and perhaps help you choose your next route.

It sucks eldagard will die most of the time but she must and she knows it. Someone has to be the villain and she is willing. She's very strong willed

It's upsetting how the worst route is the only one where Byleth's curse is broken. I refuse to partake in Edelgard's empirization of Fodlan. It was upsetting too to see Dimitri in such a state as he found himself in, but at least he got better. I'm not particularly up for making Fodlan into a church-state either. So I'm quite glad that the route I started with was the Verdant Wind. Claude always was the nicest of the three figureheads. He's always felt like he does have that common humility and I am very proud to see the respect he has for his friends even when they turn into enemies. He's also very playful. I'm overall proud to have peen part of his alliance.

Blue lions just hits differently. The music, the acting, the setting. If Nintendo chose a canonical route out of the 4 I’d say blue lions is by far the best story and best choice for canon route.

Wow, I only played golden deer, so seeing all the other endings is crazy! It doesn't seem like any of the other routes actually deal with the threat of Nemesis or those who slither in the dark. Crimson flower seems to hint that it's next on the agenda, but I'm glad I picked the ending that actually seems to be the "best" route. It not only unifies Fodlan, but also kills the only actual "bad guy", and seems to have its future set in a world where not just Fodlan but all surrounding countries prosper.

I really like how all 4 routes end with basically the same result, it really puts into light just how wrong Edelgard was to start an unnecessary war with the church, her goal didn’t need bloodshed.

Still hard to believe they did Crimson Flower dirty like that - there should have been a couple more maps to completely resolve things with the Slitherers in the dark

It is truly a shame that Dimitri was forced to end Edelgard when he reached out to her. Shows the devs really did not want a Golden Route like Fates’ Revelations

It is interesting that in the epilogue for Golden Deer story route, that the narrator does not mention Claude by name but refers to "leaders" instead. While the art in the epilogue does show Claude, it is not known who are the identities of the two men and two women appearing opposite to him. They are more likely the heads of the major houses that are represented in the Alliance Roundtable, and none of them are Claude's former classmates.

For me it is Azure Moon : the most emotional ending, which perfectly fits the route who was based on personal growth and troubles for the characters. However when it comes to what happens to Fodlan, it is my least favorite because it is mainly coming there not seem to be significative changes. Crimson Flower : logical though bittersweet. Edelgard has what she wants which is a world without gods (that's why Byleth becomes human again). Now TWSID are defeated off screen which is not satisfactory, in particular when we consider the reason for that. They are defeated off screen because Edelgard do it in secret. Now Rhea's lies is one of the reason that makes me dislike her and side with Edelgard on my first route, so I'm disappointed to see Edelgard acts the same as her. Verdant Wind : probably the most epic ending woth the fight against Nemesis. It gave the feeling to have really finish the game because the questions about the worldbuilding are all answers (CF and AM are more about personal motivations for the other leaders). However I always thought the ending was a bit too ideal to be true, maybe because for me they didn't adress properly the theme of racism in Claude's route. Silver Snow : not a particular thought about this one, for me it is a bit pointless. We learn less things than in Verdant Wind and there is a return to what it was before as in Azure Moon... kinda pointless. For me a route for the Church would have been mire interesting if it was not link too Edelgard's route in the first half, so it develops more around what the religion and then has a more unique ending.

I played edelgards route first.... That was a mistake because i almost cried all the times i seen her die... Edelgard is truly my favorite character in fire emblem. And may aswell be my favorite character in all video games. Her story was the only story which impacted me. The creators of fire emblem did an amazing job with her character, never in my life I would believe i would take a video games sad music and story to my heart. All I gotta say is... Happy 5 year skip anniversary :)

I know I'm a little late to this however I greatly appreciate this video existing so I don't have to spend another 200 hours of my life playing this game, it may be an amazing game but I still don't want to spend another $200 hours in it for each ending, after watching all of the endings with just the context of beating it with the golden deer and the other three don't make a lot of sense but they're all still good valid endings in the end

Man, aftering finding out Rhea's story and the origin of the Relics via Golden Deer, the ending to Crimson Flower just feels so wrong and tragic. Killing her with her own mother's bones alongside the leader of the empire she helped create to fight against Nemesis. I know the end result of Crimsom Flower is mostly all well and good, but the path to get there was so wrong and extreme.

Here's my thoughts on all the routes endings. Azure Moon: This was my second route but I was blown away that this route focused on personal character growth rather than deciding on a big bad. To me, this was the most poetic out of all the routes. Edelgard realized she had seen her dream become an unrealistic goal. She had nothing left to lose. So when Dimitri extends a hand to her. She wants to get Dimitri to kill her, so she tries to attack him with the dagger he gave her, only to die by an act of self-defense. Dimitri could finally put his past to rest and work towards a bright and prosperous future with Byleth and his friends. This route may have been light on story revelations, but this was a great story for character growth. Crimson Flower: This was my first route so forgive me if I come off as biased. This was the most emotional out of all the routes. Edelgard finally acheived her vision of a perfect Fodlan. One where a man can rise through merit, not through bloodline or faith. But at first, at what cost? It was honestly heartbreaking to see Byleth die in Edelgard's arms. Only for Byleth to lose her goddess powers and become human again (I will refer to Byleth as a she. Sorry M!Byleth players, but Female just feels canon to me). Now I really didn't mind the route beating me over the head with the whole: "Hey! Are you an Edeleth shipper? Well we are too! So here's a bunch of sweet and heartwarming scenes with them that we couldn't do with the other routes. Hope you enjoy!" spiel. Now I will admit this route has problems. For one and definitely the elephant in the room: the length. I was disappointed we didn't get to kill TWSitD, and have that be relegated to a mention off-screen. Hell, I wouldn't have minded if we dealt with the Agarthans first, have Edelgard go through her own character arc, that way she's more sympathetic and not to the point where I question on whether or not I'm clearly on the bad guys' team. The point should've been for Byleth to act as Edelgard's moral compass, but she just lets her do her own thing. Overall, I see the effort was there, but it could've been something more. Verdant Wind: Forgive me if I come across as cheesy. But this was one of my favorite routes. Yeah, Nemesis as the final boss for Claude's route kind of comes out of complete nowhere. Nemesis should've been relegated to the Silver Snow final boss. But as is, this was amazing. Not too often you see someone beat the Fell King of Liberation with the power of friendship and trick shots. There's something about silly final fight scenes I kind of can't help but enjoy, and this is one of them. Overall good scene, but there were better ways it could've been done. I feel Claude should've had a more unique final boss to this route, does that mean I wanted to see Rhea become the new boss? It could be easier to do that, but no. If you love this scene, more power to you. Silver Snow: My final route, and probably my least favorite out of all of them. I just really did not care for Silver Snow. As much as I like Byleth, she simply wasn't interesting enough to hold a route all by herself. If Byleth was able to have a character and be able to speak, it could've worked. As is, Silver Snow is nothing more than a blatant self-insert, and not a very good one. I had no sympathy towards Rhea, like I said in Crimson Flower, that was my first route, so I believed Edelgard did nothing wrong, while Rhea was scum of the earth, especially for what she did to the people of Fhirdiad in the finale of Crimson Flower. So when the final fight against her comes out of complete nowhere, I think the intention was to make me feel horrible about having to kill Rhea, someone I betrayed my own student for, but really I just didn't care what was going on and just wanted to get the fight over with. Funeral of Flowers was a great theme, so I'll give it that. If I had to change anything, I'd say take it out entirely, but that wouldn't be much fun, so either make Rhea playable, or delve into Byleth's mindset on why she chose the Church over the Empire. Was she angry at Edelgard for being indirectly responsible for Jeralt's death? What if she had no choice and wanted to know the truth of her origins and Rhea was the only person who could tell her? There was much this route could've done, but I just hope Three Hopes gives us a good Golden route. So in conclusion, here's how I rank the routes: Azure Moon > Verdant Wind >> Crimson Flower >>>>>>>>>> Silver Snow And if you want my thoughts on Cindered Shadows? It just is. I appreciate them trying to delve into the backstories of the Ashen Wolves and learn more about Byleth's mother, but overall, this could've been something to be incorporated into the main story. Not sure if this was worth the 20-30 dollars.

The one thing I didn't like about the Blue Lions route was the fact that we did not encounter Those Whole Slither In The Dark. Maybe they could have added and aftermath (Part 3) for use to fight them like in the Golden Deer route.

azure moon hits diferent if you played silver snow first, since then you understand that edelgard threww the dagger not a as a way to refuse dimitris mercy, but as a way to tell him that the war wont end as long as she is alive, and for the good of fodland he has to finish the job, just like she tells byleth in silver snow.

So I’m just passing through, curious about this game and all. With the context I have gained about the first end I feel like Dimitri carrying Edelgard out the doors (out of respect maybe) could have been an alternate shot for the ending. But that’s just me.

Ironic that Crimson Flower we never got the chance defeat Those Who Slither In The Dark. I mean sure it's implied that Edelgard and Byleth defeated them in the epilogue but come on! The Crimson Flower route had only 18 chapter they could've squeeze in a couple more in after we killed god.

Every day, I wish that CF had us fight the Agarthans. Could have been a great addition that made the route more complete.
