Fire hose pressure test - Procedures explained in detail 

@prasobhsugadhan Good day Sir. I have 2 questions regarding pressure test 1.Do you open any anchor wash or any other fire hydrant when you conduct this test? Or you don't ? 2.I have watched other videos and I noticed that some people closes also fire hydrant after nozzle shut off and when the hose attained required pressure .Is it correct or not? Because if i close also hydrant it can damage fire main system and lines of vessel kindly clarify this issue Best regards

Logically, since the fire pump is a centrifugal pump, the line can never be over pressurized. Also, there is a relief valve fitted. Now, coming to actual working situation, atleast the anchor wash will be kept partly open, so that any surge pressure can be avoided. The pipeline, as it gets old, loses its strength internally due to erosion and pitting. Externally due to corrosion. Hence, to deal with untoward rupture, the easiest way is to keep the anchor wash slightly open so that the line will never over pressurize. Regards ♥️
