"The beauty of the sea, rests in the souls of the brave hearts who sailed across!"
Hi, I try to upload videos that I wanted to watch when I was looking for answers as a cadet and an officer.
Since I'm using a smartphone for recording, kindly use a headphone for better clarity. Also, do watch videos at its highest quality for clearer video.
All these videos have been personally edited, and are purely for educational purposes. The quality might be a bit low (smartphone), but i guarantee you that the information gained will help you in the long run.
I do pray these videos will be of use to you in your career path.
If you are satisfied, it would go a long way if the channel is WATCHED, SHARED, SUBSCRIBED and the BELL ICON clicked.

Anything from position fix to bearing will require error to be applied. All things on a chart is true bearing. Hence, error needs to be applied. I'm already applying it in every calculation, even if I'm not showing it individually. Regards ♥️
Roger sir. And also, the incorrect use of clutters and range, including options like Echo average, echo stretch and interference resistance (when you use it wrong, even the best targets will get lost) Regards ♥️
Sir, If you are in good hands, they will make you an expert in your profession, but the one thing that you need will be an open mind to learn and ask. No one learnt anything abd everything before they joined a ship. It takes time and effort. I believe you will find great Mariners who will make you successful. Regards ♥️
Thank you sir, I am currently Junior (started only 4 days ago) and sometimes have questions about reporting or understanding some things and your explanation really helped me for future anchor operations🙏 Now i need to check how to report when heaving up anchor and that's it 🙂
I did not know ANYONE used MF/HF marine anymore. Decades ago, a friend of mine was a radio officer for Scripps Institute of Oceanography, radio WWD. CW at over 40 wpm. Their HF equipment has been gone for years and years now
And... We Mariners hope that a rescue comes with an MF/HF call when sailing in A2,A3,A4 areas. Incidentally, the satcom stops at 71 N/S. So, this equipment remains the only hope. Regards ♥️
Good morning Sir. I got a second mate FG ticket but due to personal problems at home i had to take a pause from sailing. But now I wish to resume my sea career. I need motivation.. your video helps me a lot...could you make a small video just briefing what is the actual role of 3/0 and 2/0
Hello there, currently I am in centre america in Navarea 12, which I already enter to the SatC, but i am receiving metereo forecast from Navarea 4 (which was not selected in the Sat C), do you know how Can I stop these printings/ reports from Navarea 4? Thank you
That is a tracing sheet. It will be provided by your chart supplier. You will have to keep them updated every week for charts onboard. Its a paid service. Regards ♥️
To anyone viewing this, don't use this video as a guide. Different GME beacons have different test results, and this video does not even show which beacon it is. Go to the GME official videos on testing their beacons for a real explanation. And of course you do not find this beacon on ALL boats, as was stated. There's different brands of beacons, and different models within those brands.
I'm sorry for whatever misunderstanding I managed to create on the topic of EPIRB Testing, with you. Kindly note that this is an educational videos channel, and not a channel to be used as a GUIDE for any equipment test. I for one, used to wonder about these tests before I became an officer. Hence, I had made this video in good faith, thinking that someone like me will find this useful when they try to understand things foreign to them. I hope you could understand what I meant by the reply. Regards ♥️
Wx report is basically the weather in your area sir. Beaufort scale of wind, scale of state of sea, Beaufort notation for weather, scale of visibility at surface, swell scale, Temperature of sea and air, Barometer etc should be included in it. Basically, at the beginning of all deck log books, the procedure for converting what you experience into Wx notation is provided. bc is sky partly clouded (3-5/8 clouds) 6 is 2-6 NM visibility 7 is 6-12 NM visibility. It is given in scale of visibility at surface. I hope I could clarify your query. Regards ♥️
