I live near an Amish community in Kentucky. After I had a heart attack they asked what I wanted to do. I said i didn’t know. They said we think you should build a new shop at the bottom of the hill. Bigger and easier to work in. I bought the materials. They brought the manpower to build and the woman power to feed. In four days (4!!) they finished a 4,000 sq foot building!! Everything except the electrical. Done in the dead of winter freezing cold. Kids, young men , old men. Everyone just knew what to do!! What a blessing. I’m their volunteer ambulance now whenever anyone needs to go to hospital night or day. I feel life has gotten better and better. That’s neighboring. Anybody anywhere can do it. Put God first then help your neighbor. You won’t regret it!
This is what communities should look like. 😢 sad no one acts like this anymore. I have a lot of respect for the Amish communities, especially after 2020.
I completely agree. I was born and raised in Lancaster County, and I have seen this so many times. There are a few reasons why they are able to do this. Although permits are required for this type of construction, the local governments pretty much just issue them or ignore them because they know the quality of work that the Amish do. You will never see an OSHA inspector on one of these job sites. They know better.
Our decline is social media, wasting time communicating with people far away that have no real value in our lives. Smart phones are to blame also. If the internet died one day, communities would grow and we would connect more with the people around us.
Sincerely admire the Amish for their craftsmanship, resilience, community, intelligence, fortitude, cooperation and dedication to their faith, families, friends and neighbors.
And they won’t take the mark of the beast like most will if they want to live in a digital currency age. That is coming and that is the mark of the beast.
i got to experiemce this in the army corp but not with folks we did not know or would see daily. its a business that needs to be breed into the commumniy to make it work , like a coule centuries like this one then it really worksm eally nice to see. I also saw good heartheart group of prople really try to make it work , people try to make it with work like union poeple man, is that a useless buntch...keeps the money awY FROM THE GOAL AND IT MIGHT GET DONE, i WAYS AM ANAZED HERE, @@Rollingcalamities
14 years old, living in Buck in Lancaster County. Sat and watched a barn raise out of the dirt in a day near the foundry. Seeing that entire community rally together to get that done changed something in me. I had never seen so many people that didn't need told what to do. Everyone had a place and everyone instinctively knew what needed done. Truly impressive.
Step back and realize the incredible skill levels in your community. As an engineer, I'm impressed, huge hat tip gents. To do this all in 2 weeks is unheard of.
@@HerpDerpNV “herp derp” 😂😂😂😂 yep Ukraine is gunna win any day now, just like the walls are closing in on Trump 😂😂😂 Oh yes daddy media, tell me lies tell me sweet little lies.
If this was any other mass project, it would take about a year to complete. Any other "English " construction of this size would be held up by red tape. Building permits, construction phase inspections from township codes enforcement officers, insurance claims, bank applications, safety consultants, environmental impact studies, union contracts, etc. The state should hire the Amish to build our public roads and bridges and other public work projects.
50 yrs ago the Wife and I lived in an Amish community in Ohio, we watched 2 houses about the same size being built just next door to each other. The Amish house was completed and people were moving in while the "English" house was yet to have a roof or siding. Must have been 50 Amish folk working on that house at the same time......
What a well choreographed dance. Each of them know their job and stay one step ahead of the guy coming after him. Boggles the mind how they can pull it off.
They're constantly persecuted by the government → laws against raw dairy, outrageous food inspection requirements, etc, etc. Communists hate them becuse the Amish are God-loving, patriarchal, family-centered, and self-sufficient.
Thanks for sharing this video. It's definitely amazing how much goes into rebuilding. They all did an amazing job on the barns and silos. The women also did amazing keeping everyone fed and hydrated. Amish truly are amazing people working together as a community on this and so many other things. What an amazing place it would be if we all could work together and get a long as much as they do.
Absolutely amazing! Mass quantities of respect for these people. THIS is what happens when there's no bureaucracy involved and people work together for the greater good of All! No "great reset" here! #respect 👌👍❤️
Didn't know they made Straw Hard Hats. Wow, what a marvelous people. We need far more of them. No excuses about labor shortages, supply chain shortages, just do it and get the job done.
This reminds me so much of when a local family's house burned down, people from all around came together to help go through the debris, recover anything they could and helped get them food or clothes or anything they needed. This great country was built by communities, i love seeing it and being a part of it. 🥰
AMAZING !! I admire a lot the Amish. I'm back in Europe, now, but should I ever move back to America, I would love to live amongst the Amish. Wuensch Euch allen alles Gute ❤
I was about 11 when I first learned of the Amish while visiting family in PA. I was fascinated and interested ever since and recently learned that one of our ancestors came from Germany to PA with an Amish group. I love their spirit of community and this video is just more proof of how tight knit their communities are. I'm sorry for their losses in the fire but so pleased they were able to rebuild so quickly.
There is so much us "forward thinking" people could learn from the Amish. A work ethic, loyalty, helping your neighbor rather then forming HOA's to control them, and assisting their community members when they are in need not stealing from them to get it. So ma y other things as well but hats off to them and their pure souls.
You gotta give it to the Amish, they all come together and work hard to rebuild. Team work is everything, and with many hands it all comes together pretty quick. They are people of great resilience and are proud of who they are and what they stand for. Respect is given, for there are no idle hands in the Amish community. The whole of the Communities coming together is a testament and inspiration to all of us. Look after our neighbours and our neighbours will look after us.
i counted at least 80 people on deck, but i am sure i missed a few. i want to thank you for sharing this rebuilding of not just a barn, but the lives of the family who experienced the fire. i am certain that there is no non-plain community that would work as hard as the men in this video and they do not work for pay, but from the love they carry in their hearts. thanks again for sharing.
I grew up with neighbors of similar values. I never thought twice about lending a hand on their farm, nor did they to my family growing up in the ‘70s and 80’s. Those times are long gone! Can’t find help anymore, get flipped off by racing cars everyday while moving equipment from one field to the next. Etc. etc. This country, let alone the world, will have a huge wake-up call soon, sad to say. It’s not going to work in this trajectory.
Absolutely amazing! I’m a farmer, and it would take me years to get demolition permits, hazardous waste permits, pocket gopher permits, endangered plant permits, materials, labor, etc. these days. It never used to be this way!
Just think- if a local, state or federal governmental agency had this job to do it would probably take 7 1/2 years to complete. Hire these men to rebuild our roads if you want to see shit happen!
Fantastic video! The drone work and voice over are spot on. I watched this from beginning to end. Simply amazing how the Amish come together in time of crisis. I haven't seen a barn raising since 40 years ago when I saw the movie "Witness" starring Harrison Ford. Thank you for the time and effort you spent in creating this wonderful work.
Thank you for sharing this video, watching those young men build the silos was really something. Watching all of it was amazing, such hard, talented builders they sure know how to build a barn and silos. Wish we could have watched the women do all the cooking they work hard as well. Again thank you for an awesome video. God bless you
Truly inspiring. Shocking that the current Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture seems to be on a crusade to regulate and change the Amish culture and tradition of growing, producing and selling their own food from farm to table.
Absolutely amazing the way the Amish come together to help a neighbor. I chuckled seeing the cows sitting watching in the pasture so calmly. They know it's their home being built. Thank God that no person or animal perished in this. Homes and buildings can be rebuilt, as shown here, but lives can not
Well there's no Getting away from it Amish have it Sorted i have to Admire them you wouldn't see this Kind of cooperation in the UK I Hope They Very Proud of what they do Thanks Great Vlog
And how would we be if we all worked like that. No man in the straw hat is compensated by anything but breakfast lunch dinner and drinks. Obviously the communal chest pays for the materials because those things aren't manufactured and purchased for free but in essence this is the way of community should be this is what the Lord called us to be and if we were like this there would be no strife there would be no war there would be no grief or poverty or mass sickness or plague. No individual is wealthy and no individual has poverty this is Howard community should be. It requires faith and devotion and belief and commitment. Unfortunately things mostly lost in our modern economy. Thank you for sharing this this is such a glimpse into how it should have been and how it should be. If I could I would I'm old and I have nothing to contribute now I'm broken and I have nothing to give not even my labor anymore but I would if I could. Thank you for your magnificent work in your video. May peace reign in your heart and in your home.
@@jeffholverson8294 Bullcrap ! They all pay into the community chest . But none of them ever tell anyone how much they make yearly . And they have a lot of unclaimed income too
An absolutely beautiful site to watch this video seeing the entire Amish community come to their neighbors' aid during his most crucial time of need. Family, Friends, Neighbors ALL of them being relentless for this lengthy process. I am in awe of its entirety but mostly I can feel all those arms surrounding that family for protection. God Bless You ALL.
The Amish in this video are an obvious example of, "Ora et Labora" / "bete und arbeite" / "pray and work". Kudos to the Amish! Thanks for sharing video. Also, Let everyone learn how to be and live too.
These Amish are like worker ants who never quit and accomplish amazing feats, just imagine if the whole world worked together like this with no dictators or greedy politicians ??
For sure a compliment: 1) We need this group of guys on the Highway Department. 1500 mile highway finished in 3 months with no change orders. 2) They look like ants on a piece of food. Coordinated until everything is done. #MakeAmishGreatAgain
Just imagine if every community followed this example. No one would be homeless and everyone would help each other. Isn't that what communities are all about?
@@joehutmacher3323 Worship helps reinforce the right behaviors and beliefs, but the main difference is that the Amish invest in and support their communities. Community was the backbone of this country. Now, it's just Wall Street and a small number of individuals and institutions with concentrated wealth & power who have eviscerated communities across rural America leaving devastation behind and impoverishing communities and individuals.
The world could learn a lot from the Amish... It's mind blowing how fast they get supplies to build everything. I'm in Az and if that were to be built here, it'd take 6-12 months (if not longer) with all the red tape and politics involved. Totally mind blowing...
Such a blessing for the people getting there lifes back in order ... The horses worked so hard threw this they should get better care also more food they deserve it also
A fine job done, a fire's damage reversed with the appearance of water slid of a ducks back, hard work and organization and community of good people showing spirit and unity. Something powerful to be considered and learned from. Thank you for posting this
I have been a contactor my whole life, and it's stii amazing to watch one of these, i had the opportunity to see one in person, and nothing is overlooked ...
Somebody had to milk those cows with out that milk house twice a day for over a week. I hope a neighbor had a barn available to him. Milking as many cows as that barn housed by hand would be mighty time consuming without electric milk machines.
When the Amish need to build something, they do not go to the Planning board to be told, we will get back to you in a few months. They go to their family, friends and neighbors. They do not go to the building Inspector to pull permits and pay fees. They sit down with the family friends and neighbors and show them the plans of what needs to be built. They do not build to village, town or city code. They build to last a hundred or more years. The Amish know how to help Thy Neighbor!
Your government slows nothing down. They are bound by the very same constraints. Odd how you fight your government, when the government works for you. Not the other way around.
@@Look_What_You_Did Grow up! In just the 20th Century your beloved, leftist, big, all powerful, central planning government PROVABLY killed or starved to death over 100 million of their OWN people, plus millions of their enemies. If government had been involved, the permitting process would still be taking place along with the graft producing "Environmental Impact Studies"
@@Look_What_You_Did You could not be more mistaken. Check out how the PA Dept. of Agriculture has been harassing Amish organic farmer Amos Miller (who has over 4000 customers across America who have signed contracts to recieve his products).
Love the video. You should get an Oscar for this. If you want to know the definition of Christianity and "...do unto others." this is it. If the world acted even 1% like the Amish what a wonderful world it would be. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Thank you so much for this beautiful video.
The Vintage Rd farm is in my childhood neighborhood i know the folks just wondering what started the blaze. I so appreciate the videos of the amish community
I don’t understand!! They go to town in horse and buggy!! But use modern day equipment to remove any and all debris? Why aren’t they using old school methods to do that ? So everything about modern day society is not exempt 😂
