In Details there is a normal damage bar which is extended by a more transparent bar which shall show how much damage the others do because of your buffs. Its just an estimation. For a better view of how good you play as an AUG you might use Logs.

At the highest keys an Aug is needed because the limiting factor at that level is the damage incoming rather than outgoing. Augs help reduce incoming damage to the group (as well as help outgoing)

Extremely tanky, Mass Barrier, 2 AoE disrupts with sub 25 sec cd, better prio damage and dont underestimate the 5% Int that is buffing 3 of your party members. You have some talents that are extremely op in certain situations: Spellsteal in Ruby, Nokhud for giga shields or Energized Barrier that makes last boss in Uldaman way easier. I play +17-18 currently and majority of deaths are Priests even when they get most of external def cds.

Mass Barrier is actually insanely good. Even if the SP destroys me in key dps every time, the amount of times we've timed a key because Mass barrier has saved the group is actually wild.

dont expect high cons aoe dmg from mage hes doin alot of the prio dmg with pyroblast it matters aswell

Mage needs no external help, brings 2 reliable stops, 20s ranged interrupt, brings a group defensive in mass barrier, buffs healing and dmg of other players with arcane intellect and has crazy good prio damage. Shadow indeed does a LOT of dmg, but factor in everything and they more than handle their own in the comp.

Plus its gingi's comfort pick, If hes able to play his class to the highest of levels while tracking all stops on packs and organising the cleanest of scenarios for the Spriest, doesnt matter how much dmg his class brings, the others wouldnt be doing nearly as well.

Shadow is basically an uncapped spec since they can still multidot even without crash, and during voidform your dots are extended by voidbolt. Fire mage instead can only spread ignite to 5 at a time. And flamestrike sucks. So it's not surprising that it falls significantly behind in mass aoe. Frost mage has better damage overall than fire, and if orb actually followed the target it would probably be an actual opponent for s priest.

@@Dodowan Question is why would anyone bring a fire mage to do mediocre priority damage when every other class can do better priority damage and doesn't require 10 buffs to do the priority damage.
