I really love your show! I believe you are educating people as well as just showing what you do and that is so important. Thank you for everything you do for people on a daily basis. I appreciate you talking about the difference in Fentanyl given legally opposed to that people get on the streets! I use it in patch form and have seen so many reactions in people.

I'm currently in EMT school so it's awesome to see the SAMPLE and OPQRST assessment in action along with lifting and moving, palpating, vitals, and gentle and caring communication with patients. This is all stuff I read and hear in class but seeing it for real is amazing. I need to watch this video over and over to learn how to give the perfect radio patch! That's one of the best ones I've seen! Incredible video. Keep em coming 🙂 This is my dream department ❤

Cool, safe landing but an exciting call to say the least. Getting to see how they coordinate how they are going to respond given this situation, so they are both on the same page was educational. I think SMFR Dispatchers are the best. It seems like they transmit accurate information and retransmit/relay it the same way to those who need to hear it. I have listened to other dispatchers from other areas, and they seldom or never retransmit incoming information from other units to say everyone is in the loop. I can relate to this sick woman's dilemma, drove myself to ER hoping for an antiemetic, but after 12-hours of emesis all the n/v ceased. Good med review by Paramedic on medical Fentanyl usage to reduce pt. anxiety. Excellent people skills. On that fall pt. Dirty Harry would have said I'll take them off. Very professional in every way. Always talking explaining what is going on and assessing pt throughout transport. SMFR Medics are the best. Thumbs up. Great video coverage too.

I see blood draw items. Do all your hospitals except blood draws. I work in a system where community hospitals except along with one city, then the other city doesn't. Ha ha, such a classic situation with the first patient... The medic was half-way towards a diagnosis of a heart attack (ordering the 12-lead and trying to locate the pain), when the patient mentiones a fracking gallstone for the first time after propably about 15 minutes of being on scene with her. Just goes to show how important a good and thorough anamnesis is, people who aren't medically trained (and aren't expected to be!) often don't realize what part of their medical history is more relevant than others. Question: I assume you use the xABCDE algorithm for patient survey - do you also use the SAMPLE for further assessment or do you have other methods?

Is it against SMFR protocol to use the monitors BP setting? Noticed that everyone takes a manual

I see Americans are still going crazy with C-collars in any traumatic event. In Europe we don't do that anymore. Either you completely immobilize a patient or you don't do it at all, as a C-collar only immobilizes parts of the cervical spine. Also if we do decide to immobilize the patient we do it before moving the patient on the stretcher or in the ambulance.

Question for anybody with EMS experience. I’m pretty much 90% switching careers and pursuing a career into EMS but I don’t necessarily want to be a firefighter but I notice a lot of medics are firefighters/Medics. My question is it required to be a firefighter to be a medic/EMT?

Curious on mask policy. Did ya’ll not wear mask when making pt contact? Only when you get to the hospital? Why is that?

I am curious what SMFR and Colorado state protocols are. From my experience and according to my local protocol, that fall victim is over-treated. Cutting the pants is unnecessary. A c-collar is unnecessary. And waiting to give an anti-emetic until the patient is nauseous is waiting too long with fentanyl administration.

I hate this device and I am glad that we switched from LP15 to C3 Touch

My aunt told me I should go into the medical field....she has no idea that needles & or the sight of blood make me queasy & woozy. I'm finally able to get thru all the needle stuff, as long as I don't see it coming lol. I still can't stand seeing blood, including my own. Even more embarrassing, I'm a "sympathy puker"...if I see it or hear it's going to cause a chain reaction. My ex husband was barking out questions one night about what the sounds were coming from the bedroom. My cat ralphed on my nightstand & I ralphed too trying to clean it up lol! At least I made it to the bathroom lol. Unfortunately, I repeated that game winner with a 2nd mad dash to the powder closet lol. I yelled at him that the cat threw up & it made me throw up...he said something stupid so I called him a f'ing a**hole under my breath. Of course he heard that even though he was deaf to every other comment I make lol. Bless you folks who work in the field of medicine.
