The game awards was a long long show, the livestream reaction was almost 5 hours long so here are some highlights leading up to Revenge. Reaction to the Final Fantasy 16 Revenge trailer which dropped at the very end of the show. Gratz to Elden Ring for its win and GoW for a big number of award. A deeper dissect of the trailer will be coming later and alot of what we see in Revenge supports some of the other theory ideas we've scattered on Final Fantasy Peasant around 16. Bravo to TGA for bringing back the slowly dying quality of game shows and creating a real buzz around gaming!

Yoshi & team Square be delivering more of that top tier trailer magic. How do you guys rate the show & how did 'Revenge' stand up for you compared to the other 3 trailers? For me: Ambition > Revenge > Awakening > Dominance The Game awards: 8.5/10. Maybe pushing higher if you compare it to how far game show quality has generally fallen & the difficulty in getting devs to show at these things. It was an awesome show tbh!

So I saw someone elsewhere point out the fact of Joshua being the Phoenix and that he might be resurrected, and it got me thinking. The Phoenix IS typically associated with rebirth and resurrection, no? So I wonder if maybe he dies early in the game, but we see him as his younger self with Clive later on because those themes come into play somehow?

It could be a resurrection, but I would think that Joshua's clothing/attire would still change after the time skip? All of the other characters look different aesthetically, but Joshua looks exactly the same as when Clive probably last saw him "alive" so there is a chance it is a hallucination/illusion designed to torment Clive.

@@ry2950 My first thought was that it was a hallucination or vision, but then someone mentioned the resurrection thing and I thought that was an interesting angle. We'll have to see I suppose! I definitely think they're trying to keep us guessing lol.

I believe that Phoenix's gimmick might not be resurrection per se, because if so, why would the phoenix dominant change? The first one would be resurrected over and over unless they still die of age, but since we see Joshua unchanged from when he died, my theory is that phoenix doesn't grant resurrection or "life", but the dominant lives on within the phoenix, that's why Joshua is engulfed in flames. If you see the environment they're in, there are phoenix feathers around in the area, so the phoenix itself is probably imprisoned by that dark entity (that imo could be Zodiark) and ofc in typical JRPG fashion, its trying to get back to life via the phoenix or something. That's my theory anyway.

@@eljn2737 That's a really good point. If the dominant had control of their resurrection, the first one really should have lived forever. Maybe the souls of former Archdukes might be preserved by phoenix somehow, or their memories, a bit like the ring of lucii, but for dominants.

Hey Pez, not sure if you've watched the trailer 1000 times like I have already, but there are a couple of interesting things to note. 1. I'm not sure if this is a Clive only thing, but it seems like any time Clive / Ifrit is in battle with any other Eikon, their eyes are the same yellow colour as the 'other' Ifrit. Perhaps the mysterious hooded figure is able to take on the form of ANY Eikon and that's their 'corrupt' eye colour? 2. There's a split second in the trailer where Clive is actually using Bahamut's wings and seemingly some form of MegaFlare ability, or something similar to FFX's impulse. 3. There looks to be a limit breaking system showcased right after the Bahamut scene. 4. It looks like Clive can utilize skills from all Eikons, but is the dominate of Ifrit only. 4. We can pet Torgul. Probably the most important part of the whole game. 5. Personal theory here - there has only ever been a single dominant for Pheonix, and for as long as the crystals have been around, that has been Joshua. I believe he's only able to age while alive and he keeps getting killed over and over again. 6. In this video, there was a part where Ifrit was battling some sort of armored up Titan. You made a "what was that" comment during this fight. I slowed the video down and it looks like Titan is using some sort of rock / vine whip against Clive/Ifrit. This version of Titan also has the yellow eyes, leading to my above theory. Further on the eyes / dominants. In the dominance trailer, both Shiva's and Titan's eyes are shown as blue, yet we see here that "Titan's" eyes are yellow. The counter point to that is that we see Benedikta transform into Garuda and her eyes are yellow, so I'm not sure if that's an artist choice, a misdirect, a change, or some other indication.

I appreciate and love your points. It sets up for more possibilities that branch into other theories. Number 6 for example, I have a very close theory. It has me thinking it could potentially be something that has to do with Joshua being the youngest to have transformed and because his body isn't adept to it, it burns him to a crisp and saps all his energy and thus, takes his life. But as you mentioned, because his Eikon is Phoenix of Rebirth he is cursed with coming back to life to endure the trauma all over again. I did notice there were Phoenix wings present in the scene between Joshua and Clive. So I believe Joshua is very much alive. Going by your theory, do you think there is a nation that is tasked with having to kill Joshua over and over again? The hopeful part of me likes to think that perhaps it could be his own nation that kills him out of mercy so that he doesn't go through the pain and trauma of transformation, primarily because he can't keep it in check without wiping out innocent people.

I was very pleased by that trailer but I'm gonna be honest I kinda expected a gameplay breakdown like they did with FF7R at E3 2019 I really need them to deep dive into it now. I'm already 100% sold on the story and characters. I mean even the gameplay since it's the DMC5 and Dragon's Dogma guy I just need a full presentation.

I think he's wearing Alexander McQueen, an expensive clothing brand. Yoshi P always appear on stage with very expensive drips. But if you're talking about Alexander the summon then yeah, it might also be a hint lol

It’s mentioned that there’s two Ifrits. One is Clive and the other is that hooded figure we see during the invasion, you can tell the difference by the eye color. Clive’s Ifrit is shown with blue/yellow eyes, where the dark Ifrit is shown with red

I would say for me the combat and the world traversal are the big two selling points I have imo those look very fun and with each dive, the game begins to look more smooth. YT compression don't help tho tbh

After playing the demo its a pass for me, i was intrigued by the combat and traversal in trailers but without a full suite of parkour/traversal mechanics and with how clunky i felt navigating 2 spell menus with no quick-switching between spells was, it was an underwhelming hour or so. I beat the final mini boss of the demo with 1 support skill and spamming one attack spell, got hit twice at the beginning and basically stun locked it to death. Also the UI/UX was bad in a way i can't really describe, overly stylized to the point it made it hard to comprehend what i was doing or what i was looking at.

@@umphreak9999 Fam you could of just said the game ain’t for you. Also the complaints you had were just as you said not the full game, so what were you expecting from a demo. It’s supposed to be a tease.
