This season is always going to be hard for me because I have lost my grandad who always went to games with me. I think we are signing players in the right positions who are versatile but we don’t have the financial capabilities to sign better quality. I think Cole was a good pick up as a free agent to ‘replace’ asante and I agree with the positions you think we need being a fullback, winger and midfielder. I’ve been watching your videos for ages and I really enjoy them as they make my day better. Thank you!

Some Albion fans are doing my nut in Shilen Patel was upfront with the fans, He said we had to stay with the rules we would have to get some wages off the books and it would take a few years to get back to the prem, we as fans have been saying we needed and refresh. We were told the club has made massive loses the last 2 years and we have to ballance the books.
We have a top manager. We have a top business manager owner (as was Jeremy P). Let’s assume they know what they’re doing. Perhaps Corberan wasn’t convinced about BTA like me. Sorry to see him go however. What to do about Grant will be interesting. And what impact will Cleary have this season? And of course incoming players? Would be great to have a marquee signing. Kanu, Lukaku, Okay.
Remember that Kanu over the bar miss from 2ft. He was a total clown while with us. Patel cannot be judged yet, other than on the fact he's done absolutely nothing.

I think if anymore of the team go Corberan will walk i know hes a miracle maker but he can only do so much with the tools hes got i think best we can hope for is mid table with the current squad
Looking on from Australia it seems that Patel is getting rorted on the prices. Seeing Philips go to Oxford hurts. Surely Oxford aren't paying him what WBA can afford. It looks like we are getting comfortable in the championship.

A week until the season starts and we've got 4.5 million euros and 20 players in the squad. It's going to be a slow start. By the way 3 of them are keepers.
Gonna be a long hard season lads. We will do well if we have a season where we ain't flirting with relegation. I worry that Carlos will walk like he did at Huddersfield. If he has the say on who comes in then ok but if its a case of he says the type of player he wants and its down to our useless recruitment team to find a player with the attributes required then I think we are stuffed as I would not trust them as far as I could throw them. Rant incoming. I find it increasingly difficult to engage with albion fans on a serious level any more due to videos like this. Sure, everyone is allowed an opinion, but the levels of delusion on display here, in the comments, and on social media genuinely make me question what you lot are watching. Yes I'm a baggie, but I'm also a realist and see the bigger picture. Aside from Lai leaving (we know nothing about Patel, and he could end up being worse), NOTHING that is going on at the club is taking us forwards in any capacity, and we are completely cementing ourselves as what Mr Jeremy Peace said we always were - a mid table championship club. So let's go through it, without the rose tinted glasses: We are skint. Our new owners wealth is estimated to be less than £100m, which in football is barely a pot to piss in. A player costing just 5m is over 5% of his entire net worth - so he sure isn't spending a penny on players. Next. Our squad is diabolical. It was already bad last season (spat my coffee out when the geezer on the right said we had a top squad hahaha), carried by our fantastic manager, but this season it is even worse. Not only is it worse, we have lost our FOUR best players from last season, and we have sold them for the square equivalent of feck all, with Mikey not returning on loan. And who have we replaced them with? Some free dosser from Barnsley, a guy from the red bull conglomerate who has bust his knee 3 times already, Heggem who we know nothing about, Paddy blasted McNair whose only trait is his versatility, which is another way of saying "I'm not good enough anywhere to cement a position down", an Italian LB who played barely 20 games in Serie B across the last 2 seasons, and a kid from Villa. Meanwhile, our squad is the thinnest it's ever been, the already lacking quality has become even more non existent, we haven't won a single game in pre season and have looked awful in every game. Where is the optimism coming from..? I'll continue. The academy and youth setup is a joke. We exist purely as a feeder club for our local rivals, and are incapable of nailing down talent because we are plagued with staff members who sit on their hands waiting, rather than acting proactively and snapping them up before other teams do. Our scouring and recruitment setup is a genuine joke, and bordering on the non existent. It has improved slightly in the last 12 months, but it is still well and truly in the gutter compared to most other clubs at our level and even below. More? Go on then. We conduct business like a park team, run by people who seemingly have zero understanding of the market they are operating in, selling players for under value, overpaying for incoming. The players we do sign are always either in their "prime", or past it, and never tied down to long contracts, meaning even if a signing does come good, there is no chance for a cash windfall as they will either be too old and devalued, or have a year left on their deal - like asante - and cashed in for pittance. The fella on the right suggesting "2 year contracts with a further 1 year option" is precisely the penny pinching attitude which is why we never make any money, and why other clubs around us sell their talent for £20m+ while we flog ours for closer to 20 quid. It is criminally mismanaged rubbish, and the people in charge of this stuff at the club are all stealing a living operating at this level, as they don't deserve to be within a mile of a professional football clubs backroom. What is actually positive about the club right now? We have a nice stadium, and we have Carlos Corberan. That is it. There is nothing else. And if I was Carlos, I would be handing in my notice and walking into a better job, because we are going absolutely nowhere, and somehow lots of Albion fans are loud and proud about it. Until fans actually wake up and smell the coffee rather than bigging up the club all the time, then we continue to go nowhere and sink like a stone. We are in the absolute gutter and need an entire overhaul of EVERYTHING top to bottom before anyone can realistically possess any optimism for this club again. 9th-14th. Carlos walks or sacked. Some utter plodder to replace him, and a relegation fight next season while Blues stuff us home and away.
