@@alanhoughton3243 although I enjoy Scottish football, rangers have a picture of the queen hung up in their dressing room 🤮 I’d rather follow broomhill
@@Barneybhoyn our 55th title killing terry munro. R.I.P. just reached our 2nd euro final since you won a knockout game in europe 😂😂😂😂😂 always in the famous' shadow. The end 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
the hype surrounding this guy joining was genuinely surreal dominated French football with lyon - and he was the catalyst for them to become the force they were for the decade they were turned down some massive teams during his sabbatical before joining really thought we had a manager destinated to lead us to dominating scottish football he vastly underestimated everyone he played in Scotland, he was looking for a way out by the end and publicly fighting with the captain was his easy route out record in europe was superb though, tactically in europe you saw the "good manager" in him come out. shame he couldn't get over himself domestically - playing kris boyd up top in europe who is essentially a poacher with no other attributes at all like pace or hold up play and still outplay every team he did with essentially 10 men for most of the games showed there was something about him
Still remember the hysteria this appointment caused. Shortly after he arrived, there were rumours of something big about to happen. Some Rangers fans even speculated Zidane would come out of retirement to join him but it turned out to be a partnership between the club and JJB Sports 😂 In the end he was really one of the most overhyped coaches in my lifetime.
Class video, as someone who was too young to remember scottish football prior to 2007, it’s great getting these comprehensive recaps of notable events, would be cool to see a video on Celtics 20/21 season (as a Celtic fan I’ve blocked out that traumatic season from memory)
@@lgs4692 Except one club went out of business, as in ceased to exist entirely before being remade. That didn't happen to Celtic. Even the late, great Walter Smith said the new Rangers was a different club. Time to just accept it and move on.
Great video I'm a celtic fan but really enjoy watching stuff from all clubs back in the day, forgot how bad it got under le guen I mean I loved it but incredible how bad he did in hein sight. Keep up the great bids mate
Le Guen was mental as a coach no doubt and his career tells you so . BUT ..... but .... he MAY have just been a little ahead of his time . As for the commentator saying playing midfielders at Cb is mad , Pep and Klopp have done it. If Le Guen was around now , he would probably succeed . Still one of the maddest times of my life as a Rangers fan .
10:51 To be fair, I'm Scottish and I'm also disgusted by the food on-screen. I HATE baked beans and anyone who eats them in my company. I don't want to be breathing in your flatulence!
i vaguely remember some other videos on this channel about rangers like videos about Mols and one including Tore Andre Flo but I cant seem to find them now
Might be thinking of another channel pal! This is my first Rangers vid but it won't be my last, Flo is a player that interests me a lot, you can expect a vid on him soon!
I wouldn’t mind seeing an in depth look at big Ange’s time at Celtic, as a fan of the club I’ll admit I thought we lacked ambition in not getting Howe as manager considering the length of time we were linked, however I’m happy to say I’ve been proven wrong, the style of football and his signings revolutionised the club after lennon’s mishandling of the 10, we were in despair and looked toothless and ange turned it around and put the winning mentality back into the club, for such a short time he impacted the club severely and I’ll be forever a supporter of him 🍀
The quality of the content increases with each video. I would be curious about a video about Walter Smith's second spell at Rangers. This was a really good topical video with Rangers recently appointing a much fancied ligue 1 coach. Clement seems to be a better fit for the Gers.
Who is still one of the best British coaches on the go. Clement also has to deal with Dessers and Lammers who are on par to the signings that Ronny Deila had, maybe worse...@@MohamedAli-xu3uw
There's many issues that led to Le Guens failure but the most important one of them all is the fact that he realised very quickly that he'd a mistake and he didn't want to be here.
One of the worst eras in Rangers history it seemed like the quality in players dropped around this time if it wasn't for players like Barry Ferguson and a few other Rangers would have struggled in the English Championship under Paul Le Guen.
Playing a midfielder as a CB at away games isn’t that strange. Man City have more or less done it with Josh Stones the last few seasons. More likely personnel was the issue and cultural differnaces
Do one about how mcCoist could not win the First Division in Scotland despite being on 800k per annum while the Dumbarton manager was getting 40 grand a year and use of a Mondeo
At least United managed to grab a solid draw away to league leaders Liverpool & can see off title contenders Aston Villa. PL right now is a totally different kettle of fish
They deserved what they got you have to work with the Manager but Wee Barry scuppered that.. Perfect LeGuen was used to working with European players but Rangers were used to Cluggers and were shown up as not being able to adapt.
Ferguson complaining but he’s the player! The manager wasn’t playing when they lost these games, maybe if Ferguson and his teammates had performed to the levels needed then they’d have won those games eh.
You can't tell Scottish people they can't have fry ups and irn bru. Simple as that. Did O'Neill stop Hartson from eating crisps? no... and look what he achieved!
Always got a good chuckle at Le Guen's "Ronshurs." Childish I know but you do what you can. To call this team pish is demeaning to the word pish - of all the things he banned, he made them look like a side that were suffering a hangover that makes alcoholics cry "Never! Never again!"
Really interesting video. Sometimes the coach or the club are great quality but just not a good match. I have a lot of respect for both Old Firm clubs. Except when Celtic fans sing IRA songs, which is just pathetic and misguided idiocy. I would love to see Celtic and Rangers in the Premier League- it's the only way to make the beat leauge in the world even better, and it would give Celtic and Rangers more exposure and resources to campaign successfully in Europe. The Scottish League without the Old Firm would be more evenly balanced and competitive, so I think it would be in everyone's interests except those mid-table EPL sides who Celtic and Rangers should naturally rise above. The Old Firm to me are proper football clubs, their status reflecting their size, not like Mancheter City or Chelsea where individual or oligarch benefactors participate in financial doping to bring an undeserved success and status. One aim I have this year is to visit Ibrox or Celtic Park and see them for myself.
