This single mom can’t thank you enough for videos like this. I don't know if anyone else had a hard time getting the back off the remote but you may want to mention that if that's an issue take a gripper or a rubber or latex glove to use for more traction. It looked so easy here but I had a devil of a time getting the thing to open. Using a gripper (like for opening a jar) did the trick. Great instructions, and perfect pace for those of us a little intimidated by technology.

I just upgraded to the firestick with voice and I am thankful for your video that showed me how simple it will be to switch out devices. I did buy mine from QVC so I will have to do a couple of extra steps as you showed, but knowing that, when it arrives sometime today, I will have no problem. I believe that the picture quality is better if you use their wall adapter for the power supply. I found the picture quality to be a bit grainy when I plugged the USB cable into the USB port on the back of the TV.

Great video. You mention it doesn't matter which HDMI port you use. Some TV's only have one HDMI port that supports full 4K and higher frame rates. I suggest they check their manual to see if that is the case and which port to use. My Vizio uses HDMI port 1. The other HDMI ports do lower frame rates which makes it look a bit different.

Thanks so much. You may have posted this 2 years ago but I only JUST joined the Fire Stick party (after my beloved PS4 crapped out :( RIP). The only thing that DID mess me up a little (but you mentioned as a secondary choice) was using the wall outlet vs. the USB in the TV. It kept restarting constantly with the latter and would never let me get past the network connection phase. Once I moved to the outlet, I was in. Thanks again for the detail AND for getting right to the point.

Plugging the USB power cable directly into the TV is only good if the USB outlet on the TV is always powered on. I wanted to use it, but stayed with the adapter and wall outlet instead. A trick I learned after struggling to open the battery cover on the remote, is to use a latex or rubber glove rather than bare skin.

You never mentioned anything about Wi-Fi. Does Fire-Stick get it's connection to the outside world via Wi-Fi or is some type of connection in the Fire Stick itself?

Those were HDMI ports you are talking about putting the fire stick into not USB. also I definitely need the AC plug for one TV's USB was not enough power for it

No. You just won't be able to use the microphone to have Alexa search if you don't have Alexa. But you can still search. Also, for others - I don't have a 4K TV and this remote will still work

This was very clear and helpful and I have followed the instructions. My TV (Element Smart TV) doesn't recognize the remote to pair. When I click source on my main remote, HDMI 1 is highlighted and then I click on it and nothing ... any suggestions?
