Firearms Expert Reacts to More Borderlands 3 

For context, the guns in the world of _Borderlands_ are analogous to smartphones in our world. Made by a small handful of manufacturers, whose products have certain design features that are characteristic of each manufacturer and are pretty disposable, since said manufacturers are constantly releasing new product lines. They're also something that everyone in the game has, but everyone is always looking to upgrade to a better model.

In Borderlands 3, every gun manufacturer has a different gimmick. TORGUE - Always has something to do with explosions. Has the old WW2 fighter plane look and engine asethetic Jakobs - Shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger (normally), Headshots/critical hits ricochet to the nearest enemy Old western style looking weapons Vladof - Always has an under barrel attachment (bipod, shotgun, grenade launcher, big boy rocket, or second barrel for faster fire rate) Russian, AK-47 inspired look Tediore - Throws the weapon on reload. Can turn into anything from a sentient turret to a seeking missile Blocky, thigh tech look to them. Maliwan - Always does element damage. Can switch between two different elements (Fire, Shock, Cryo, or Corrosive) Rounded, high tech look to them. Hyperion - Accuracy increases the longer you shoot. Has a front energy shield when aiming down sights Smooth angular, high tech look to them. COV - No magazine = no reloading, but can overheat and break. Spikes, blades, engine parts, makeshift sights. Junk yard rat's weapon. Dahl - Always has two different firing modes (Single/Auto, Single/Burst, Burst/Auto, 1-bullets/3-bullets, etc.) Modern militaristic look to them. Also, the anointed thing is just a gameplay feature, and has no effect on how the weapon functions. If it shoots rockets, it was meant to shoot rockets.

"Where's magazine on Tediore" - that's the thing! It's there but it isn't lol The thrown weapons are Tediore manufactured, they're designed to be disposable, so instead of reloading you throw it away (discarded weapon either explodes or does something else... before it explodes), and basically 3D print another one on the fly.

What I love about Borderlands is the weapons manufacturers, each with their own unique quirk like: TOURGUE!!! - EXPLOSIONS!!! 💥💥💥 - Big and chonky - Looks like a plane/car engine yes. - No smg cause we're not a bunch of p*#$@&s. - Best most awesome marketing you could ever imagine! - Death - Extremely satisfying to use. - For f$#@ sake EXPLOSIONS!!! 💥💥💥

Fun fact: The firing mechanism of weapons manufactured by the CoV cult are straight-up engine powered and require gasoline to run as is stated in one of the in-game tooltips. Which might explain why they're so prone to overheating.

Top tier weapons are called Legendary. Anointed means the Legendary has an added affect. Bonus damage, elemental damage, bullet regen, health regen, etc. The bonus is randomized.

Something cool about borderlands is it has a set amount of different parts which can each make up every item. For example, they talked a lot about the stocks, each manufacturer that makes shotguns has a unique shotgun stock, so that flakker which had that after thought stock could spawn instead with a jakobs stock, Hyperion or even no stock. If you're really about making your guns look as nice as possible you could feasibly farm the same weapon until you get a version that you like.

Borderlands 2 had that gun that slowed you down and screamed over the whole game

lil fun fact: the seeryul killer is a COV manufactured weapon and like seen it's doesn't reload like normal weapons it has a infinite mag but instead overheats at the cost of it. (also bout its designs they're made to look like that on purpose cause the COV are bandits of the game with this kinda junker look hence the make shift parts like the bottle scope, like spikes on everything etc.) Love this series on one my favorite games keep it going long as you can please. ^-^

Lore-wise, BL1 Tediore used to be the "all our guns have extendo mags" brand, but ever since BL2 they've become the "disposable" gun brand wherein all their products ranging from pistols to rocket launchers are built to explode after running out of ammo (or if you've got the funny rare guns, they do stuff like turn into turrets or drones that follow you around for a duration). All the manufacturers in the BL universe have their own unique gimmicks, and I love that about them. As of BL3: Atlas features this auto-tracker launcher that allows the bullets from your gun to change trajectory and seek the marked target Dahl features select-fire and zoom-toggle on their guns i.e burst/full-auto and/or 2x/4x zoom (very spec-ops with green or gray) Hyperion features a recoil-correcting system that makes every subsequent shot more accurate at the cost of having lower fire-rates compared to other manufacturers' weapons Jakobs features a more vintage approach with their revolvers, repeaters, and double-barrel shotguns, and afaik the only guns in the game that ricochet your critical hits towards other nearby enemies. ( Maliwan features incendiary, electrical, radioactive, cryo, and corrosive weapons that allow you to toggle between two of the aforementioned elements. (lots of lights with corresponding elemental color) Tediore (please see the explanation above) Torgue features guns that shoot rockets and/or grenades that either explode on impact, or stick to their target then explode after a few moments. (the engine-looking guns Vladof features guns that shoot faster and have longer magazines compared to its competitors. (the AK-looking guns)

As a BL3 fan, I can explain annointed. annointed gives weapons bonus effects so in this case for the flame diddle after using your special ability, your next 2 magazine deals additional 100% cryo damage meaning your guns do cryo damage on top of whatever damage they are doing

The first part of most guns' names is actually a modifier that changes how the gun works. For example, the 'stimulating try-bolt' is actually just the try-bolt, but electric, and the 'razrez sickle' is just the sickle

I have to tell you, the Hellwalker... It's an homage to the Doomslayer himself (hence the music when the gun fires). But the pellet pattern is what makes it. The pellets are in a pentagram pattern (inverted star).

Man i enjoy there knowledge of weapons ad try to make sense of them, even though the weapons in this game are bonkers and i get the feeling if the borderlands weapons were made and functional pretty sure they would be illegal to use lol.

With the loot of Borderlands, this could just become the Borderlands react channel, until the end of time

Would be great to explain the brands of weapons. Jakobs is more luxury and class, while Torque is explosive-based. Dahl is Millitary, and Atlas is tech.

Vladoff guns are very much inspired by ak's since it's basically the Russian gun company And Jacobs is the old west style guns (and my favourite "if it takes more then one shot it's bot a jacobs")

Anointed means if you didn’t get the roll you wanted, you spend 250 eridium to get a better or possibly worse reroll. Joke aside, they’re buffs that apply to weapons and other gear alike and provide bonuses when achieved. Btw, Moze can take the Flakker and increase its blast size beyond what was seen to the point it will knock you into ffyl almost every single time even when you’re wiping out enemies

The reason you don't see a magazine on Tediore weapons is because they are all internal. Tediore is advertised as the Walmart of gun companies. Lol

You all should do a Total Recoil on the weapons from Cyberpunk 2077! I was recently replaying it and I'd be interested in seeing what Izzy and Paul think about some of those guns

To specify on annointed it means it can add additional perks or features to all or 1 of the characters you pick in borderlands It’ll say anointed- which means neutral to all characters Or Annointed operative, annointed beastmaster, which adds additional perks to certain character

In the game your character has certain abilities. Annointed weapons give you special bonuses to your guns like extra damage, fire rate etc when you use those abilities.

whomever was doing the demonstration really undersold the special effect of the guns. i wish they shot actual enemies - so the carrier and tiggs boom effects actually showed up on the screen

I got introduced to borderlands purely by chance. Since ive always been horrible with carrying conversations, in order to attempt small talk with a coworker, i asked about his favorite videogame. He responded with borderlands and even let me borrow it. I got so hooked on it that i ended up returning his game and buying myself a copy. I have bought borderlands 2 4 seperate times.

My strat with the mech soldier character was to try and get a cov assault rifle that could fire a lot of rounds before overheating and do a good amount of damage to the point where it could be used in boss fights or horde encounters and run the trait that increases mag cap and reduces heat per round for cov guns to make a sort of heavy gunner build

You guys should check out the weapons in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands... its a D&D inspired Borderlands game. They have crossbow-assisited firearms and some of the Tediore reload throws are even more rediculous.

The living gun with the face is an alien variant of one of the "normal" guns in the game. Aliens got ahold of our pathetic human kinetic weapons and added a biomechanical barrel thats always gonna be an elemental projectile. I am jealous of the artists that got work on Borderlands games. It must have been fun coming up with the designs that are absurd, but at the same time, you can see how it would function... sort of 😂. The magazine locations don't always make sense in relation to the bolt and barrels. But this is a universe where digi-struction is a thing. COV weapons teleport the rounds from your pocket into the chamber, hence the motor to run the action.

The Atlas guns are actually smart guns 4:12

jacobs guns on borderlands are all cool and realistic but the rest is just crazyness...

This is pretty cool video, but why did you give them the full name of the weapon with prefixes and such instead of just the actual name of the gun? Like the Tiggs' Boom instead of the "Shrinkin Shreddin Tiggs' Boom"? I see this happen so many times with people naming off weapons in these games when they make videos about it.

I know it probly goes faster to just send them the videos but it should be prefaced with someone that loves the game explaining context for stuff, in this case like many are commenting down here, each gun maker has querks and unique flavor to how they make it. or have a little txt notepad with the video with the same info. Some guns are hard to find and would require farming to get, but would be so worth it, like The Legion.
