Glad you had a blast. You bring up a key point that so many of our young people forget. They all scream "Back when you were young a car was $4,000, that is SOOOO cheap". Yea, and I made $12K/year. You weren't buying a $4,000 car when you're take home was $8500! So many of our young just hear how things were 'cheap'. They forget wages were super low as well. Heck, in 1991 even, my first car was $11K (Dealership New), but my pay was only $25K/Year as an engineer. So I had to do without, no dining out, no vacations, etc. All my money went to paying back school loans, car payments rent, and retirement savings. I retired at 55 using that philosophy....and I'm debt free too!
Yes, it did. It left its mark 12 hours bouncing around in the trailer wasn’t good for the car loosened an oil line which thank God it did. We were going racing the very next weekend and we would’ve probably crashed the car. Free asphalt repair.
