A great back up stove. The cubes are certainly more expensive, but there is something to be said for the unit housing 3 cubes within it. Compact and tidy. Thanks for doing the comparison.
Morning from Alaska, Mate.. Ive used MOD issue green goo gel but for me (whatever version it may have been) it never worked as well as Esbit did.. Excellent demo.. well done..

Hi Mike. Thank you for commenting and watching. Unfortuntely some of us can't build wood fires and have to use stoves. The solid guel and gel stoves are just about bomb proof unlike liquid fuel and gas. Stay safe. ATB. NIgel
The BCB Firedragon beats Esbit hands down. 1) it has a "tub" which allows for the gel, or alcohol. Can also burn other items. 2) the BCB cubes can be used inside. Big "NoNo" with hexi. I have three. I just acquired a heat operating (non electric) percolating aluminum coffee pot. I'm going to test how long & how many Firedragon cubes it takes to make one pot (9 cups).

i bought in bulk (60 packs at a time) and got the price down (worked out 23p and later 28p per cube) ... it seems to store ok, although i had 2 cubes that had dried and evaporated ... but that's 2 out of a couple of thousand ive used.
