Not sure how it works in windows, but on a Mac I think you'd just create an aggregate device. I'm still on the old fireface with 2 data ports, which was plug n play

@@draztiqmeshaz6226 Aggregate Device is a Mac feature that unfortunately does not exist in Windows. I think TotalMix can deal with three RME audio interfaces. Not sure though if this then also works with my host software Cubase and Studio One.

this will not be bus powered... it will most certainly need more power than USB could provide... you can always buy a portable battery source... they are actually quite common now... just depends on how long you would want to power it...

@@storysofar7426 hm…and how do you want to connect this battery? This is where a small USB-C PD connection would have made sense. As much as I like RME: for field recording nothing beats Sound Devices MixPres.

A second headphone output would have been a welcome addition indeed

If you don't need separate headphone mixes (90% of my situations covered) there's more than enough power to drive 2 pairs through a splitter. In a pinch you could change 7/8 to dual mono and use send/return splitter cable to have separate mixes.

RME stuff is very over priced with high markup. MOTU is offer better vaule that makes the same stuff.

@Simmer Ring Umm, MOTU does the same thing that writes there own drivers as well. So not sure what your point is. MOTU is also a software company you know. Digital Performer? That do all the software and hardware Engineering in-house.

@@eMeS-Dev5 You sound like a typical RME fanboy. I was just saying MOTU makes the same stuff at a fraction of the cost which makes RME overpriced for the same quality. And no MOTU is not inferior as they make professional gear if you checked out their higher end AVB Pro Audio line up. Their MOTU 16A and other AVB interfaces have already been used by Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus for their major tours and live shows. A lot Pros in LA are using the AVB stuff in major studios.

And...? Where is the UCX II really "better" compared to the Babyface? It offers more options, but if you would need those you would have bought a UCX or another option I guess.. ;-)

Sorry that you feel that way. Almost all our products are made in Germany and receive lifelong driver and software support. Since 2001, all interfaces are still supported on the latest macOS and Windows. We believe in sustainable and professional products and will continue to do so. I hope this helps :)

@@RMEAudio That didn't really explain why RME is so over priced. MOTU does exactly the same thing that offers long term driver support that makes similar high end DSP interfaces. They are made in the USA that's been making professional interfaces since the 90s. The drivers for thier original 828 firewire interface was supported for 17 consecutive years. MOTU offers better vaule your money. Lynx also offers long term driver support as well as the oringal Lynx Aurora released in 2006 is still supported.

@Johnny Bravo Umm I'm using the higher end MOTU AVB stuff that runs my Hybrid Mix rig housed in my Argosy console full of outboard. Sounds like you never used any of the modern MOTU stuff. The AVB stuff is in a whole different league that shares the same converters found in the Apogees. The latency is extremely low and the drivers are rock solid on Windows 10. The RME UFX isn't all that different than MOTUs 828 DSP interface. Your interface is dated by today's standards. Almost no one uses firewire anymore as Thunderbolt is the newer standard. My 828ES is a dual USB/Thunderbolt interface with AVB Audio network connectivity like the Focusrite RedNet Dante interfaces.

Both the MOTU AVB and Focusrite RedNet RedNet Dante interfaces are used in critical mission applications that are used in live sound, play back rigs, large commercial studios, house of worship and tours. Your just a delusional RME fanboy. My studio partner is still using his oringal Lynx Auroa that came out in 2006 that's hes using on the lastest version of Windows 10 via USB. Lynx still makes drivers for that thing. Theres nothing really special about RME. You wonder why you don't see them in big commerical studios.
