Firefighting in -25F Windchill PIO Vlog

Probably one of the best rooms to have all that extra water in a hotel: the indoor pool room!

First, Congratulations Conner on your little person to be! Thanks to you an Eric we have an excellent VLOG, AGAIN! As a side note, i was a firefighter/medic in the Alaskan interior, as such in that region, we routinely worked in the ( - ) numbers most winter months( with & without wind-chill), fyi last month there were -60F temperatures with the wind-chill, yes it sucks!! Thanks again and stay safe!!

Very good fire ground coverage. I grew up in very northern New York State with my father and brother being volunteer fire fighters. (I was not due to legal blindness.). Fighting fires in horrific winter conditions was very common. I have tremendous respect. Fire fighters can not praised enough. I understand that in the paid. Fire service is not just a job, but more a vocation. God all of you.

Congratulations Connor on your impending bouncing bundle of joy and the world of no sleep, no clean clothes and whose turn is it to change the diaper😁😁😁 Fighting fire in cold is no fun and I spent many years on our Mills ERC(Emergency Response Crew) and winter fire fighting is so joyful especially in -35c weather with windchills of -20c. Frozen hoses, frozen equipment, broken couplings, frozen fire fighters and everything is covered in Centimetres of ice buildup.....fun times had by all.

Could you do a day in the life of a firefighter but cover the full 48 hour shift, I work in the UK and I’m interested on how they manage.

We had an insane cold snap here where air temps (not wind chills) were well below -10f and hit -28f two days in a row. Almost every day the FD responded to a fire. I really felt sorry for them and was surprised they didn't have icicles coming out of their hose lines. Be careful with those space heaters!

I need to add this, after being subscribed for a year and being able to catch up on ALL there videos if you haven’t subscribed already do so... you can actually make great connections and even friends just by watching them. Oh and it also teaches things that not even the FDNY could teach you.

Congrats to Connor and family. Going back to when Connor changed her name - what was the process for changing her name and getting new named bunker gear? Did Connor have it ready for when she returned to work? And will new baby Connor get bunker gear on arrival?

Great example of why modern building codes require fire-reinforced walls between attached garages and the remainder of the home.

I would guess the water hammer does not affect in this situation because the hose is not entirely rigid so it can absorb the increase in pressure somewhat.

I never really thought about the fact that firefighting in the winter must be annoying because your job is to make it less hot, when your body is craving a little extra warmth

We have the opposite issue, 33 degrees and 90% humidity, but the fire still hot inside lol.
