This is an excellent demo - thanks for keeping the pickup comparisons short and sweet - really shows the difference in the pickup setting so well! Of course, this has made me want one of these beauties; but…I have no more room for any more guitars! Or do I?

Thanks and glad you found it useful! And yes I know that feeling all too well 😂 Let's just say I also don't have any more room for them...yet I have 2 more FireFly guitars incoming 😬 They have a Christmas sale going on and some guitars are as low as $139. I just couldn't resist with their prices lol I actually decided on their thinline acoustic since I never owned a thin acoustic. Will do an unboxing on that and the Buckhead style guitar which I also got.

Sweet!! I just picked up my first Firefly I got the Relic ST style in Olympic White and I got to say its a fantastic guitar for 200 bucks. I am not sure how they do it the 200 price point. I previously sold off all my budget guitars for 2 PRS S2's. The Firefly is way better than all my previously budget level guitars with much better appointments. The PRS guitars are not going anywhere but the Firefly will get its turn in the rotation.

Thanks for the video - I've got my first Firefly SPS arriving soon and it's good to see how well they play out of the box. Everything I'm reading suggests a string change should be the first (and maybe only?) upgrade necessary. Are you demoing the stock strings or did you change them/have you changed them since?

These are the factory strings, and I have not changed them yet. You are correct that most people swap strings right away on these guitars, but to my surprise, the 2 LP style guitars I got from them actually have usable strings and feel decent. It’s the Strat styles that with me came with garbage strings (feeling super bad, turns your fingers black, corroded areas etc.). Those guitars would definitely require a string change. Yes i had one. Same one. Built really well. Wish i didnt sell it. Uggh 😢😢 Definitely good to upgrade if you want. Id buy another one for sure 👍💯🎸🎸

Up here in the use to be great white north our Amazon had the firefly yellow bats, I was lucky enough to get on for 280$ cad easily my favorite guitar get looking, feel and alnico pickups, also own several decent chibsons but the firefly outweighs them. Apparently Firefly will be adding more to Amazon going forward

I recently bought an “orange bat.” Was great out of the box as far as set-up. Mine came with a really dark rosewood board which I like.

I got one of those also but my board was died and after some steel wool it lightened up a lot which i like. i had to lower my nut slots just a touch and tighten the truss rod but it plays like butter.@@ohiostate98

Hey man i got an Agile 3200 also it is the neck through one and the neck is really slim on it. I find the firefly neck about right for me. my Chibson has a baseball bat neck so the firefly is kinda right in the middle. Those orange bats look amazing.

I just recently bought the same EXACT guitar, the "Elite" model, spalted top and must say I was disappointed because I believed there would be locking tuners. There are NOT folks! Even though other Elite models FFLPS or FFSPS does have them so check closely the read-up on every single guitar.

I have 2 Elite LP style guitars. A matte black and then this new one, and both did not mention locking tuners in the photos or description. I know most their new Strat styles all have them, but most the LP styles don't seem to have them from what I've seen at least (I think just a few have them). I wouldn't be surprised if they start using them more though across their entire range of guitars.

I love it. Personally I would prefer a thinner neck. I have a few Agile LP style guitars which I custom ordered with their slim neck and this one on the FireFly is super chunky compared to those slim LP style guitars I have. Just personal preference as I don't have the longest fingers. Other than that the over all build quality is amazing. I don't have any crazy set up and usually just record through GarageBand, so my unprofessional opinion is the pickups sound fine. For the price though anyone could always upgrade them if they're looking for a particular tone/style.

I hear ya the thinnest neck on any of my LP style guitars is my Agile 3200. Its a thin c neck it does get wider as you get closer to the guitar body though.@@Lyrical-Impact

I had 1 of the thinline Tele guitars from firefly and it was really good, should kept it. Funny how pricky Gibson is about even the LP and the god forsaken name. No wonder everyone hates their company. Good video.

And if you would a ran your hand along the frets on my epiphone les paul, owned by Gibby, u would cut ur hand. Ashame how much better these firefly and other guitars are than their actual owned brand.

I got lucky my Firefly FFLP it sounds great unfortunately i have at least 3 Firefly guitars that have issues since they ramped up production i feel the quality has gone down i hear reviews where knobs don't work the bridge rattles etc....

Also, just to clarify, does this specific model include locking tuners? There are a few LP's that appear to have locking tuners in the photos, but isn't mentioned in the description

It's a Spalted Maple but yes it does have some flame figuring as well which I think makes it even more unique. This particular model did not come with locking tuners. I have seen some in the FB Group with locking tuners (there was a blue version I saw someone post that had them). But the one I got in this video did not have locking tuners. I also have a matte black one which again did not have locking tuners, and 2 Strats which did have locking tuners. I just got one EXACTLY like this one being demo and NO that was my complaint to Guitars Garden. NO locking tuners! Even though there are other "Elite" models with them the spalted one I got doesn't have them.@@manny7289

The name is because it is a Spalted Maple top.

That kind of makes sense if it was just for this guitar (SP for "Spalted" Maple), but that is not actually why it's called that it seems. All their Les Paul style guitars used to be called FFLPS and now are called FFSPS regardless of finish/color etc. In the Facebook group it was rumored Gibson wasn't a fan of them using the LP designation in their model name. They just switched the L to an S...I assume to designate Single-Cut.

Since months i'm trying to buy a FireFly FFLPS ...a normal black single cut FFLPS with two humbuckers but it seems impossible ! That Guitars Garden shows colours i don't like...Even the dark grey in the video would be ok. i'd like to know why it's so difficult for me to buy that guitar. Can anybody help me ? Thank you !!

Yea I recall saying "black hardware" at one point but I meant "black plastics" lol The gold hardware, black plastics, and spalted top contrast together amazing and look great.
