The fact firefly can still hit big numbers without Ruan Mei is a testament to how good she’s gonna be. Although you REALLY need MHC. Super break synergies are too good to pass up

As somebody who used to play Firefly without Ruan Mei, I’d like to give somewhat of an opinion on this. I don’t think Firefly’s DMG is bad without Ruan Mei, I was actually able to hit around 200K without her, but Ruan Mei is a great quality of life change, and playing her best team is just so fun! You don’t need Ruan Mei, but it’s so much more fun playing Firefly with her :D

whats broken abt rm is her delay system on her ult which will save a cycle by not having to break enemies toughness bar again

If you want to pull as much as you can as a f2p/dolphin, the best order would be Firefly E0/Ruan Mei E0/Firefly E1/Firefly E2/Ruan Mei E1/Ruan Mei S1/Firefly S1

you are correct, people want to play only firefly to get eidolon but they forget the most important thing which is the synergy with Ruan Mei, or they simply don't have enough shots because they spent it on Robin or Boothill, that is the price to pay for have no planning

No, you need Harmonius Tuberculosius because he/she gives the Super Break!

The crazy part about this is that when I tested out firefly in the divergent universe I had to substitute Ruan Mei for Pela and Firely was still doing about 500k damage every turn

Also super break scales on toughness damage, which means weakness break efficiency increases it by the flat percentage as well. Now firefly already has 150% WB efficiency in her ult, but Ruan Mei brings that to 200%, therefore a 33% increase in damage before you even consider the all type res down that actually buffs break damage (DMG % does not). Everyone already mentioned the extra delay too so yeah just a match made in heaven 😅

Good thing I just won my 50/50 and got Ruan Mei I was so scared since I lost my last 2 50/50 in a row now I have S0E2 Firefly and E0S0 Ruan Mei 😊

You realize DMG% is useless for Break DMG right? So that doesn't mean anything The main reason Firefly is good with Ruan Mei is bc she already has 50% Break Efficiency built in her kit so with Ruan Mei you can litterally achieve 100% And Super Break also happens to scale with Toughness Reduction. If your attacks reduce more Toughness then that directly means more Super Break DMG and honestly am surprised you didn't even mention given that is *the* most important thing to talk abt Also the free SPD is ofc very nice. Not to mention BE buff and delay from ult

Rerolling is the best way to do this. I got firefly in 55 pulls and ruan mei in 10 pulls. Another thing you could do is buy pre rerolled accounts that have 60-90 pulls, they shouldnt cost much at all, maybe about 2 dollars per account.

You haven't mentioned that super break does more damage the more weakness break efficiency you have.

Simple fix just get firefly E6 for efficiency. Firefly doesn't need all type res pen because she implants fire weakness so the enemy will always be weak to her. The only real issue she has is when she's locked out of breaking the enemy.

I hate to say this but… you can’t just skip her speed boost, her elemental pen thing doesn’t affect the break damage calculation too

I feel like a lot of people severely overestimate how important Ruan mei is. Yes she will make her even stronger but she will still shred everything

I don't need Ruan tho with Firefly. Idk if anyone did this team but if you have Robin with Firefly and MTB, you can one shot every enemies. It honestly amazing.

Let’s be honest if u pull for meta( I kinda do, but also for enjoying the game cause that’s my priority) u should have rm if u have ff, cause if u didn’t get her on her first banner you should’ve prioritized her over ff But like she can still hit big numbers without rm, just rm is a huge quality of life change

Dude...my firefly was able to hit 300k to 400k without Ruan mei

We only have a few break meta characters and they can definitely include more in the future like a Erudition break character would be broken

Counter arguement: HMC is the one that is required instead of Ruan Mei due to the superbreak MC gives. Yes it allows full damage but I think HMC is THE single best character in game rn. Keep in mind this is mostly from testing in Divergent universe cause i havent fully lvled her up, she still broken though

firefly is fine without ruan mei if you don't got enough pulls for both cuz harmony trailblazer is already good with her and March 7th e6 might be good with her if they don't change e6 March 7th

you can always use asta to give firefly atk/speed buffs plus bring fire herself she can help break enemies so you can get firefly to do lots of superbreak damage gallagher also helps there since he's already the best sustain for break comps or you can use gui as another breaker since she has break effect boosts in her traces so if you can only go for 1 and want firefly so much more these are great options pela can work too i personally went for ruan mei first bc if i go for firefly i'll stretch my supports thin plus i've been wanting ruan mei from the moment i first saw her but she skipped me in 1.6

Something you didnt mention, is that the super break do more damage base of many shield can break. So, the 50% eficency of ruan also boost super break damage for x1.5

I have Ruan Mei and Firefly and honestly if you don't and are thinking about omega whaling for Ruan Mei, go get MHCs Eidolons instead. An E6 MHC adds more value than an E0 Ruan Mei and you can get the MC there with some grinding. At least to Firefly, Ruan Mei is also a meta support in a bunch of other comps so shes a good value pull. Firefly just doesn't need Ruan Mei when E6 MHC is F2P and right there.

I mean, yeah Ruan Mei is good, if you haven't unlocked harmony tb. Like, not everybody is gonna have the funds to get 2 five stars, and as someone who doesn't have Ruan Mei or ff lc, she can still hit good numbers.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to put both in a team together without one actively attempting to murder each other, and the other doing dubious stuff like memory wipes with cakes and still experimenting on worrying stuff in general 😑 Then again, I keep placing Welt in a team with Luocha and Seele with Luka😅

How about harmony trailblazer? Although he isnt the same as ruan mei but he can also grant super break dmg for firefly its ok if players dont have ruan mei since they can just put another harmony character other than ruan mei😊

Hoyo did us dirty by putting them both on the same banner so it would be harder for F2Ps to pull on them both

I mean I am still able to put out good number with just her, hmc, Asta, and Bailu as a team

I'm still building Ruan Mei so she can't join the team yet but I'll definitely add her once she's ready

I hope that hoyo release a wave of break oriented characters in the next few updates. it'd be a shame to have that unique mecanic and not take care of it.

The main benefit of ruanmei is her ult keeping enemies weakness broken, firefly does enough dmg with gout ruan Mei and her weakness break efficiency buff is only a 33% increase

Ruan mei can make her better but firefly absolutely doesn’t suck without her or her lightcone.

So i already have E0S1 firefly and no ruan mei, in my experience she is still hits like a truck ton of damage but with Ruan Mei and Firefly the damage will go from a truck to a bullet train hitting a newborn.

Good thing I have E1 FF and RM in my party along with HTB and GG

I think.. Firefly sucks, more without HMC than it is without Ruan Mei. The thing is, Ruan Mei does provide you with weakness delay, weakness break efficiency (which is a direct damage increase to Super Break since Super Break damage scales with how much toughness bar your attack reduces) and Firefly does a lot of toughness reduction with her enhanced skill. But while that's good and all, without HMC, Firefly's super break damage only deals 50% from her major traces. This means even with Ruan Mei the damage you're buffing is pretty much so low that even if the buffs are insane the initial scaling is just way too low. HMC however, gives you BE% through ult, technique and E4, and also gives you access to their ult which gives you 100% Super Break damage. That's why whenever you use Enhanced Skill with Firefly, you see two instances of Super Break damage instead. The smaller one is her own super break damage, the bigger one is the super break damage enabled by HMC. Without HMC, Firefly just absolutely does so little super break damage. And also go for E1 over S1 unless you're really into E0S1 Aesthetic because I swear not needing to consume SP means you can play with your brain turned off since it won't feel as punishing to manage skill point economy + HMC does a LOT of super break damage themselves so if they don't have to basic attack to generate skill points, the damage you get from S1 is pretty much negated by HMC's personal damage + Firefly does good damage still with the def ignore from E1 and S5 Aeon. Hope this helps!

I’ve loved firefly since we met her, but I’m ngl…. She’s kinda bad :( She does big numbers, but they’re not consistent or practical in the slightest. Most of her teams are not f2p friendly at all bcz u basically NEED Ruan Mei, and if the enemy isn’t weakness broken she doesn’t do ANY dmg. It was a really good concept, and I hope more chars (especially 4*) come out soon and help her, since as of now, the execution just doesn’t work.

Honestly Asta works really well with firefly. Both attack and speed increase can just be all you need sometimes, especially considering BE scales from attack with firefly. While Ruan Mei definitely is better, don’t be discouraged all you firefly havers, you’re not ruined without her

Apparently Harmony MC helps firefly a lot so firefly is not useless even without ruan mei and still does bif pp dmg

RM improve her significantly but FF is by no mean sucks without her. Also you forgot to mention the recovery delay of RM.

The point is fair, but Asta works fine too because she also helps break fire and gives that humongous speed boost

or you could just use asta for more BE and more spd to pull firefly before her ult ends

Lets not forget hmc too since she only does half her damage as super break damage

Maan I’ve been playing for about 3 months, I have so many harmony characters already, Bronya, Sparkle, HMC, Robin, Tingyun yet I’m tired of always hearing about how you NEED Ruan Mei, like meh, I have plenty of harmony characters I really don’t wanna have to pull for another and hearing about how much I need her just makes me not want her.

1. Starts criticizing how firefly needs ruan mei + explanation 2. Slips in a way to get shards faster 3. Instantly admits resorting to pull for both as a solution. Very wholesome 😅

FF got the fastest clear in MoC in her best team also got the slowest clear in MoC without her Best SP. she got bot worst and best at the same time lol

I disagree, while it is true firefly cant bring her full damage potential without ruan mei, she's still a broken dps with htb alone, ruan mei with firefly is a life changing synergy, but you dont need ruan mei for firefly to deal massive damage. *Just dont be an idiot and not place her with htb*

It's Like Saying DHIL without Sparkle is useless, Acheron with Pela is useless, Dr Ratio with Topaz is useless, Boothill without Ryan Mei is Useless,. I guess all dps are pretty useless.

You kinda suck... to not point out enough points that make Firefly suck. Here is how she suck: - She is a very strong units, capable of overthrown Acheron, IF she have Ruan Mei, and Harmony Trailblazer, and E2 Gallagher or E1 Huohuo. This making her the most picky unit by far just to reach standard amount of dps. - She is tied to Weakness Break DMG and Super Break DMG, which both need you to delete the enemies Break Bar before dealing DMG. Break centric units tent to NOT want their DMG totally clinged to this since enemies (especially Bosses and Trotters) can make them Weakness Break Immune. - Right now we see she is performing exceptionally well, but take in mind that current MoC and AS both give you Break related buffs, so she might fall in next patchs of endgame.

Basically every character that relies on break effect is bad without ruan mei

i don’t want ruan mei cause her animations and design are kinda boring (but pretty) so hopefully a new break support comes so my firefly can be usable in endgame modes. at least i can use a friend’s ruan mei to do calyxes :/
