High range and don’t change gears ffs. Drove around Fraser for a week in a stock triton and didn’t get bogged once. Anyone who can get through full vids of this comedy has my respect ✊
@@joels2517 tearing up the track like a couple of flogs, digging holes for no reason..... and to top it all off, they got bogged which could of been avoided if they weren't being flogs.... so now the flogs are blocking the dug out, rutted track for everyone else.... when they could of just driven through like a normal person.....
I have never seen so much front tires facing wrong way ,not in 4x4, not in low range, high tire pressure all the gear no idea shit until now. thx Bogged Action and good old Inskip Point .
My F250 diesel weighs more than most of these rigs and have never had an issue in sand. But I of course run no more than 15 psi in my tires at all times when in the sand lol.
I went with friends who just got a 4wd to a 4wd training course and found it hilarious the instructor was saying that it's not a good idea to lower the pressure in your tyres
@@samuelsutton8299 you’re right to a point. It all depends on set up. For low weight in soft sand, fuck yeah petrols go hard. But start adding a decent amount of weight & watch the petrols struggle. The gear reductions required would be insane to be able to match the low end torque of a diesel in low 4. In hard sand, it doesn’t really matter what power pack is under the hood.
@@tasmanmcmillan1777 sand is about hp over torque. Torque is amount of work you can do. Horsepower is how quickly you can do it. Petrols get up and boogie, higher horsepower helps them glide on top of the sand without digging in as bad as high torque, low rpm set ups.
Going to Inskip Point. 20's - check......60psi - check....no rated recovery points - check......traction control on - check......hope the yellow FJ is there - check
I did frazer years ago in a Suzuki Sierra and managed ok but was near washed away on a high tide trap coming back to the ferry. With the Mercedes wagon you can see that should not be going on Frazer, if I was there I would say turn round mate you're asking for trouble with that car it's not made for this neither set up for it
@@LongLiveJuiceWRLD999 ty buddy. I knew about his lift I’ve quizzed him a few times on his. Mine is a 94 pathy and right now it’s in the mechanics getting it’s roady and hopefully plates for Xmas 👍🏼
@@gazzafloss Who cares if people congregate in a single area . . they socialise & have fun together , better than them going out & about & getting under peoples feet elsewhere . . 'Pamela'
Sand is all about tyre pressures and horsepower. Petrols put out the hp and diesels put out the torque. Torque digs holes, hp does quick work and keeps you gliding over the sand. Petrol power is totally different to diesel and a big 4.0L petrol is a lot of engine. Great for this shit
First rule of sand club, no matter how much load the vehicle is under, no matter how much it is struggling, no matter how much the clutch is burning..... NEVER under any circumstances select low range (or so it seems when looking at some of the dills here)....
@@williamh2294 In this vid, there is one guy frying his clutch, and another in a late Navara which just cant get the thing moving, it keeps stalling, In those situations, I'd be pulling it into low.
i have to wonder if people do air dsown b4 getting on the sand? and have a portable air tyre pump for afterwards and the Colorado near the end on street tyres like OMG!!!
“Street” tyres would work better than AT or mud in the sand. The last thing you want is to dig down. Drop air pressure and don’t put your foot to the floor. Limit wheel spin.
@@mikesievers1482 body lift is legal if it’s mod plated, but tyres can only go up to 33’s I believe on the prado’s. and it’s only illegal if you get caught😉. The Aus lift laws suck!!
@@rayperry1576 I believe 50ml in suspension and 25ml in tyres is max you can go without mod plate. But with mod plate you can go 50ml sus 50ml body lift and 25ml tyres
It's not just the cars brains, it's the drivers brains that seem to be lacking in these videos. I know someone who would drive his 2WD Ford Falcon through this, with no problems.
@@richardg3335 you're full of shit mate. No 2wd vehicle is getting through here unless it's a unimog or something else purpose built. Stop blowing smoke out your arse.
Got nothing to do with a cars brains mate. Has EVERYTHING to do with lowering tyre pressures and not being a throttle happy spastic who can't control themselves.
@@EnkeiTenjin not full of shit mate! It's all got to do with tyre pressures and technique. He did have decent tyres on the Falcon. But that was it! He's done over 30000k's on beach sand as soft as this. Paras Dakar cars are 2WD only going through dunes, and so where the old VW Beetle dune buggies!
Even if Paris Dakar cars are 2wd, it's because they are designed for speed, they have momentum to go through the dunes. I watched dozens of modern 4x4s going through the same obstacles, seemingly easy, but you'd be surprised that Toyota's are not the best, German cars beat the shit out of them in every challenge
Well seen as how ngkalaa rocks is closed and the other day we went to inskip and you could ride a bicycle on it there is no new action -_- Noting to see here, move along, move along.
@@Lewythefly you don't want traction control turned on in sand lol. You want all driving aids turned off so the vehicle doesn't cut power or brake a slipping wheel. That loss of momentum is what gets you stuck.
@@EnkeiTenjin could you not see him struggling because one wheel was spinning and the other wasn't? That means traction control was off and he has open diff's. So my statement was right. Now do I turn off traction control, yes I do. Did old mate need to turn it on in this situation?Yes he did as it actually helps once your stuck with open diffs
what a lot of moan ass comments...if everyone just drove it like been on the tar it would be boring as....great vids always look forward to them...good humour
@@EnkeiTenjin if you go slow over really soft sand you're not gonna get far, and before you say anything about wheel spin, if your momentum is going fast enough then the wheels should being spinning a whole lot its only when you go slow and then plant it that causes idiots to get bogged
Watching a multitude of videos showing cars being bogged all over Fraser Island and inskip pt, shows me that weight is your enemy and the only cars floating over the sand without having to speed are Suzukis and Wranglers.
