For anyone trying to do this on a casual playthtough: It doesn't work on 60fps, or at least it isn't working for me. I think it's because the platform loads way too quickly
What the fuck. I did it at the exact same spot you did it and it worked except when i fell through the world I landed on the shortcut elevator platform and died. Before that when I tried I landed right in front of Demon Firesage. I can't get the placement right. I'm not even speedrunning I just hate fighting that boss and wouldn't mind cheesing him.
Alex Len When the game loads the save file, the y coordinate isn't stable for a bit (also your character's frame isn't determinate), so when you load and unload in a quick succession, the game drops you further down each time, and since the area is an elevator, the collision blocks aren't as defined. I believe that is why the skip works. Feel free to explain it better/correct me.
I get the idea. It's pretty cool what they can find in this game. The death cam where u can get into sens fortress without ringing the bells blew my mind the first time I saw it. I didn't think you could break dark souls like that
It's not that the y coordinate itself is unstable it's that the elevator as an object loads about half a frame after everything else and collision detection pushes you forward instead of up and since there is no depth to the flooring your character falls which is why you can't do it directly on top of the elevator
I have a older laptop that only has 4gb ram so the only souls game I can play is ds1 ptde. I hate firesage and I just went Ng+. This time I use +15 demon greataxe to plunge and finished him with the lifehunt scythe. I think I'll be using this glitch for future runs
