Firesong and Sunspeaker Commander Deck Tech 

"I'm not trying to damp your hype for this commander" proceeds to do exactly that for a good chunk of the first part of the video

Okay I was confused at first but now I get it. For everyone else who is also confused about why Firesong and Sunspeaker makes Lightning Helix deal 9 and heal 6, here it is: FS&S's first ability is a static effect not a triggered effect, so it adds the "Lifelink" keyword to every red burn spell you cast. Thus, with FS&S out in the field, Lightning Helix would read: Lifelink Lightning Helix does 3 damage to any target and you gain 3 life. Because Helix is also a white spell, when you cast it FS&S's second ability triggers twice; once for its own effect and another time for the Lifelink keyword it now has (yes, these effects stack as the rules identify Lifelink as something separate from text that dictates you gain life. Same as with Armadillo Cloak and other auras with Lifelink). So, in short, every Red and White burn spell that also states that you gain life works similarly. For example: Warleader's Helix deals 4 and gains you 4, so you would deal 4 from its own effect, then gain 4 for the Lifelink, then deal 3 from FS&S's second ability triggering because of the Lifelink keyword has been added to its rule text, and finally deal another 3 from FS&S's second ability triggering because of the original life gain text in Warleader's Helix. Hope this helps!

Buy-a-box promos with altered art is great, but exlusive cards are just not a good idea. Not everyone can spend the cash for a whole box to get one card, and the people who can also know they can get away with overcharging for it, since supply is relatively low.

I think that a firesong and sunspeaker commander deck seems absolutely AWESOME! honestly I have never played commander, but I am thinking of starting to do so thanks to you and your amazing deckbuilds. I just find it cool that you always have access to a creature of your own choice(the commander). It just opens up so many new possibilities for decks f.ex. making your whole deck based around that one creature, like this deck, to pull off some really cool things which you can not do in a normal magic game. I love it already!

So hyped to put together this kind of deck, I recently fell in love with Brion so boros shenanigans is my thing!

I love how janky this commander is. Hopefully, although being exclusive, is not really that expensive. I should try to make a room for it on my Boros Legion deck, but i doubt he is taking the "commander" spot. I'm still too prone to creature-based decks. If he only did the 3 damage whenever you gained life... But I cannot keep out of my mind "death rayin" people with the reservoir. Also, could an overcharged grapeshot work for the 3 dmg trigger? That would really be amazing.

I put a deck similar to this together over the weekend and it rocked so hard. I even got to pull off a double Star of Extinction with my commander and a Samite Elder out. Was awesome.

i have some question : 1. why not put painter's servant to make all spell white too so that every spell deal +3 dmg ? 2. why not put Isochron Scepter to imprint helix or some bolt to have a renewable(?) font of dmg and heal each turn ? 3. Felidar Sovereign as a win con ? ( i'm not sure of that ) 4. how does fumigate work with the commander ? i mean i deal 3 dmg for each creature or just 3 one time ty for answer me

Absolutely top-quality video! I was considering a F&S deck, and one card I'm surprised you're not going for is Alhammarret's Archive. Double life gain sounds exquisitely silly and double the card draw really helps Boros in grasping at card advantage, especially if you're casting Cathartic Reunion and drawing six cards.

This was a great deck tech, I am gonna start tinkering with deck ideas.

Firesong and Sunspeaker is such a wonky, fun boros commander. It's nice to have a non-beat face boros commander / brawl general. It's fun to build, albeit a bit limiting. Thanks for an amazing deck tech!

Great video, I've been working on my own build of this as well, concentrating on the stuffy doll type creatures, and doubling spells affects. I played a game with pyromancer goggles, primal amulet flipped, and I cast lightning Helix 3X, then I activated the ability of Mirror Pool (which you should include in your build) for a 4th casting of the spell, all with Firesong out. I can't remember if I was able to cast Increasing Vengeance or reverberate on it as well. Another card you should consider adding to your build is Wild Ricochet...My Meta plays a lot of white exile, so it's nice to have handy to either double one of my bombs or re-direct a Path to Exile or Sword to Plowshares.

Boros has always been my favorite guild, but I can't get over that Boros Curse. What is a solid card draw and ramp package that I could put into any Boros EDH deck I might brew?

Out of curiosity....what would you think of adding charmbreaker devil to the deck? Instant or sorcery at random from your graveyard(albeit random) seems nice, but I'm unsure about the 6 cmc

When I first saw this I struggled to see how this card could be a commander. I never thought of this cards potential till watching this. Very interesting.

Would you play Anger of the Gods in a monored deck? I'm playing a comboish Kiki-Jiki deck and I'm debating whether I should play Anger of the Gods or Earthquake as a fifth wrath, I don't want to buy Rolling Earthquake and wait two weeks for delivery. The four other wraths are Starstorm, Chain Reaction, Blasphemous Act, and Sulfurous Blast. If this is confusing because I can't explain anything, I just want your opinion on if Anger of the Gods is playable and better than Earthquake.

I saw this guy (just was looking at creatures) and wondered why would someone would play him. Granted I play mostly creature heavy decks. Definitely would be interesting to see what I come up with on a spell slinger deck. Thanks for the video!
