Eric Williamson merrow reejerey + cost reduction (heralds horn) + Somerwald sage / mana doubler = play a merfolk, untap the sage, float mana, play a merfolk, untap sage, play kumena, untap sage, draw a card, proceed to deck out and win with a merfolk paradox engine.

Jumbo Commander mine is just a ton of card draw and counters with a some creatures/enchantment that play off cards. I can get a list posted on tapped out over the weekend and link it if you would like. Its just stuff I had laying around

I'm glad you liked that. This deck tech really didn't cover much new territory. At first, I felt like it was boring but I realized that it didn't have to be really unique if I just share some theory behind why certain cards work.

When standard overlaps with EDH we have to pay for time. We all know that these cards will bottom out at rotation but if I wanna play I'm going to have to wade through standard fiances.

Nice! Intruder alarm scares me, but this deck clearly takes far more advantage of its effect than most decks

I'm currently made a kumena EDH deck and yes it would be good with the many new cards to come out with the ravnica sets like simic ascendancy, deeproot waters, frilled mystic and more I also took apart a atraxa pre con to add more cards to focus on +1/+1 unblockable Merfolk I also use kiora crashing wave with many cards that just double counters to get instant emblem and star pumping out 9/9 krakens. Doubling season is a great card for this

metalsabatico Dont worry. Add a somerwald sage, as you will add merrow reejerey anyways (also works with Nyktos shrine of nyx, any 2+ manarock and cost reduction) and proceed to have a merfolk mini paradox engine.

Jumbo Commander I’ve been brewing an Azor theme deck. Load it up with Azorius flavor cards: Supreme Verdict, Azorius Charm, Render Silent, Lavinia, etc. Supplement with additional law and order themed cards like Authority of the Consuls just so we don’t get desperate and play anything with an Azorius watermark

I’ve also found that in my play group having lots of mana to throw a crap load of gas out ALL AT ONCE is how you win mostly.

It is unlikely that opposition can win you a game if you become focused. This card is very political and shutting down the best creature of each opponent is not the way to do it. I would focus on doing favors and disrupting a single player.

This might be the first convincing argument I've seen for running Arcane Adaptation. I guess the only downside is you have to actually pull it to get all the benefit.

Hey to be fair, I run either of those or Conspiracy when I'm running a tribal deck, cards that aren't supported by the tribe but would be amazing if they were... Conspiracy = Replaces creature types in play, hand, deck, and grave with chosen creature type Xenograft = Adds chosen creature type to creatures in play Arcane Adaptation = Adds chosen creature type to creatures in play, hand, deck, and grave like for example, (Using my Ally deck for the following examples) Turntimber Ranger with its wolf tokens when an ally enters the battlefield, one of those 3 cards added into the mix and bam, infinite ally/wolf tokens... Restoration Angel + Panharmonicon + General Tazeri? Play Conspiracy and bam, infinite ally tutors.... Need to get those good non-ally combo creatures? Play Arcane Adaptation and then play General Tazari and bam you can now tutor for ANY of your creatures unfortunately Arcane Adaptation and Xenograft can't get the same explosive effects as Conspiracy, but they can fill in the roles if the deck runs blue and not black

Besides, Who wouldn't want a Dragon Lair Spider that makes 1/1 Green Ally tokens when an opponent cast a spell? Or a Brago who can trigger any ally? Or one of my favorites, Endrik Sahr making 1/1 black Ally tokens that use to be Thrulls?

Problem I see with running those to ensure a tribal theme is that the two cards have to see each other, and with the lack of tutors for enchantments in these colors, its unlikely.

Paradox Engine was so good in this deck before it got banned. But Intruder Alarm is also a good replacement.

Tishana is great in the 99. You have to have the team out already to get the most out of her, while Kumena only requires you to have 2 other merfolk out before his draw engine can start.

I've been thinking about using Tishana as my commander but I like kumena for sure,still building it tho.
