Solid score on that load. Man that will get the ticker movin, windfall keeps my head on a swivel up in the mountains here in Oregon. Glad you made it out of there safe and sound buddy!
Thank you Brantley for helping your dad with the heavy lifting and for helping get that firewood to keep someone's home warm. Good Ole Buckskin. Man the Ole wind was pretty gnarly here as well. Love it brother. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
Your little helper donr stop... Good trait for a good worker, theyj ust do it... Keep the nice videos coming.... By the way, I am in Newfoundland out in the North East Atlantic... Looking at the trees you guys has just does a heart good...
Nice to see your young son participate with firewood gathering. Learning how to work is an important life lesson. The same with hunting, fishing, camping. Valuable skills he will benefit from his whole life.
Gran ayudante te buscaste está vez. Una pregunta al final del vídeo, los últimos segundos, enfocas a la pista y se ven unas huellas, son de lobo...?? Saludos y gracias por compartir.
Might want to be careful and check to be sure that is stuff you can legally take. The Forest Service in our area won't let anyone take firewood off an active timber sale unit on a firewood tag. The wrong circumstances can get you charged with theft. And I've personally had firewood cutters cut out of valuable decks that they assumed were junk.....which actually IS theft.
You think I would really go cut in a spot I wasn’t supposed to, video tape it and post it for the world to see? Things are different in our area bud I know what’s cull logs and timber for sale I’ve cut logs for a living and know my regulations
Sadly, cull logs in your area are better than a most of the trees in my cut units. The only thing saving us in this beetle kill is the bundled firewood the mill is doing.
@@benlewis2317 the mills here don’t take dead wood anything that is dead is up for grabs after hours and on weekends for logging areas any other areas we can cut whatever dead standing or down timber we want
Guys drive by slowly on a Forrest road with a pickup full of 100" hardwood... Little while later, same truck comes driving by in opposite direction... followed by US forest truck... Busted!! Who hauls 100" sticks out of the woods in the box of a pickup? Somebody who's in a hurry to get in & out!! Guys legally harvesting cut firewood into length & aren't looking over their shoulder (or posting on YT😂)
I get it now. Out of necessity its prudent to have a saw with you, as the roads you travel may be blocked by a blow down. Maybe it's time to carry 1gal of premix and 1qt of bar oil because you never know if you'll come across some wood that wants to go in the bed of your truck.
If firewood was candy...this would be CANDY! Tamarack/Larch...how does it burn? We have no Tamarack up here, but I once built a boat from Larch. Nice to see little guy helping you.building good memories.
We left probably 40 loads of nice fir/tam on a job years ago up off Bridge Creek Rd. All decked and ready to load. Was a shame, they wouldn't let the boss buy it and haul it back home.
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie I had a similar opportunity at a logging site just down the road from me. They had a big old deck of Tamarack logs that the foreman said I could help myself to as he had no market for it. 6-10" diameter logs up to 30' long That I could drive up to. Rather than buck it up, I cut 9 foot poles and flopped 8 or 10 at a time in my F-250. With the quick turn around time I had my firewood for years!
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie I agree that Tamarack (especially buckskin) burns the best of the woods available here in Northeast WA. I'll never turn it down. Cheers!
So none of our mills take dead wood only green wood our tribal policy is they have to drag in any trees they cut down including dead trees but they cannot take them for firewood or to sell… the only rules we have for cutting firewood in logging areas is we can’t be there during work hours and or in the way of trucks hauling… I caught a lot of flack from this video of folks not understanding or taking the time to understand my situation so thank you for being respectful and asking much love my friend ✊🏽 i got so much hate from this video lmao I deleted a ton of nasty comment but I believe there are some still up
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie your welcome thank you for answering I’m trying to figure out how it works in Wisconsin I’m trying to find out if there any of that around here I’m only 15 but I’m out cutting firewood almost everyday it’s my favorite thing to do I love watching your videos thank you for taking the time to record them i know thay can’t be easy
@@Dawson5589 your welcome my friend stay safe! Please don’t be like me and not wear safety gear… especially at a young age things can go very wrong very quick just understand that I have 25 years experience behind a saw…
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie yea I mostly do there times it gets to hot I got around 4 years experience one last question if that ok lol is there like a website or something that tells you the laws how did you find them out?
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie was not referring to your wood...and you are asbolutely correct about the dry wood ..although dead wood is something else. In any case if your wood was not as dry as it was you would have worked up a hell of of a sweat . A real find.. And
@@chrisbronson5341 I’ve burnt pine too and it burns good people who don’t live in my area don’t realize we don’t have hardwoods and we burn what we have… you go farther south like Arizona New Mexico and other states that’s what they mostly burn
Maybe next time put your local laws in you video and tell people to check their own local laws before cutting….Otherwise your just going to get an ear full.
