My wife and I are raising my grandson I've got him making some sugar rockets he is 10. I love to see you doing things with your grandson. Keep up the good work Ned.
Thanks for this series Ned. I don't think I'll be making fireworks anytime soon myself, but I really enjoy seeing how all of these fireworks are made by a pro :)
I'm really excited about this new series can't wait for videos to come. I always loved fireworks but it wasn't till about 9 months ago I started to build my own. In my research on the Web I came across your videos on rockets and rocket construction and I haven't looked back. love your videos thanks for taking the time to make videos where the guess work is eliminated.
Thankfully early in life,,, my job in the military (combat engineer) no not bridges......... landmines, booby traps, heavy explosives......... that got my "big boom" phase out of me....... Mouth breathers pass people like Ned and I over and go straight for the "big boom" phase of their drooling existence.... One thing I love about Ned is he is very in depth and meticulous,,, It fits my attention to detail very well...... I am coming to fireworking hobby late. I started,,,, off and on,,,,, about 10 years ago... cause I had so many interests... precision shooting has been as of late but this year I want to make a solid effort to take my fireworking to the next level.... this year 4th of july was mediocre at best and I do not want to be a drooling mouth breather gazing at the sky... Thanks for reading my life story.....
@@nedgorski I was looking at the AFN books.. Is it like Lee reloading books where edition 3 is the same as edition 2 with 2 pages added to make 502 pages or does each edition have its own specific ""how to make"" in it and you need all of them or is it a bunch of redundant stuff? I would like all of them but these days a fixed income doesnt go very far and I want to spend wisely..
Loved fireworking 101, my chromatrope didn't work as well as yours, the fire jumped to the second stage quick match.... Definitely going to use better quick match next time... Thanks for the excellent videos
Thanks, Kenny. Yep, preventing such cross-fires can be a challenge, and precise meticulous fusing takes some practice and attention. Good luck next time. ned
Im blaming it on the cheap 2 layer quick match i was using, im going to use the better water proof quick match next time... Its got 2 more layers of paper over the match i used last time..
I have found, Kenny, that the good homemade blackmatch/quickmatch, with two good strands of homemade blackmatch in it, it much harder to choke off with knots than is any of the commercial quickmatch. Just something to keep in mind as you explore these fusing issues. Making blackmatch and quickmatch can be a bit tedious, but it does pay off with these sorts of things. Enjoy. ned
random question. but what kind of hot glue sticks do you use. I have been using the register clear glue sticks and they just don't have enough grab. I'd like get ahold of some of the larger sticks you use.
Maybe your hotgun is old or not hot well the bar like a good one gun. I used a bad and old gun and when i need to unplug to use in safe way, the gun get too cold soon and with not much glue stick used in once time. Then i get a new one and more powerfull and now i don´t have to wait 10 or 15 minutes to get the gun hot, just a little time and it get really hot and it get more glued to anything i put it.
Ned do you have this series of lessons on video that can be purchased . If not it would be a good idea. I would love to have them to watch at my leisure and to stop and go back on to Watch over or rewind to see what I missed. It would be a great thing to add to my collection. Thank you dan yost.
At some point, when 201 is done, Daniel, I will make it available in the Fireworking.com Store. Probably on flash drive. I've just completed Lesson #3, testing the homemade BP using the Pyro-Baseball method. Fun, satisfying stuff. ned
ned gorski thank you Ned keep me posted if you can. I watch all your stuff and find it invaluable. I've only been at this for like 3 years and I'm 66 but have came a long way I've had past experience but when you love something it kind of grows on you. Wish I could share my skydiving experience with you. I've given it up but was a pro skydiver got over 8 years
Good day Mr. Ned. I've been watching your fireworking 101 lesson videos and just started 201 and I noticed lessons #2 - #9 are missing and I'm just wondering why that is?
The course is not complete, yet, Jason. I'm currently "building" it, and am shooting to have it done by the end of Feb. I've now loaded "making BP", "testing BP", and "making a BP maroon", and am currently working on "making pumped stars", and heading into mines, shells, and rockets. ned
