This is a small scale replica of an 1890's naval deck gun with a Hotchkiss type breech. It uses aluminum foil wrapped charges with fuse ignition. I am firing it here with 60 grains of FFg black powder and a steel slug.
@@tripplesix8459 but if hes so big why is the camera so small? u can see the quality is clearly old and the quality is only 720p. a "giants" camera at 720p simply. would look far less. well less like that to put it simply. and his hands are tiny. if he were a giant the camera would make his hands look much bigger. even if it were zoomed in. his hands would be off screen. now unless ur gonna tell me hes a giant with tiny hands. this man. is a man. also. the shadow. his head is so tiny too. when u compare it to the size of the grass his head is at best 8 inches across. and u can clearly see the the ground is close because the board barely stretches over the grass. meaning the grass is cut to human size.u can see the grass being flattened around the edges its no table. he's a mans man
i call conspiracy theorie we dont know much about giants, maybe there is a giant race with tiny hands and a tiny head. and about the grass, its just so dense when its very tall. i think you re from the government trying to tell me this is a human
@Andrew Glawson' A cannon which is the size of a pistol... Sure, why not? I’d probably mount it on a remote-controlled toy ship or on a toy wagon attached to a remote-controlled toy vehicle.
A work of art. The detail that he puts into these scaled down naval guns is amazing. Keep your anti/pro gun statements to yourself and simply admire his craft.
Love it! The beech loading and recoil absorption system are brilliant! What caliber projectile are you sending out with this beauty? I have a 70cal napoleon field cannon style that uses a pretty similar charge, but looks far less cool.
I am thoroughly impressed. I fabricated a small (4" long) breach loading cannon out of brass that shoots 1/4" ball bearings. Not sophisticated, but LOUD and potently DEADLY if not handled properly. The naval gun replica in this video make my little brass cannon look like child's play.
Nice video host, thank you for sharing. By the use of that miniture breech loader it has demonstrate for how powerful that type of the real big gun can be.
What a nice toy for adults! I love it! I imagine the working replica of battleship Iowa class with working "mini-naval guns"... It is a cool "naval canon" even as it is now! Great hobby!
I would love to see a in-depth video on how you made this breech and how it works from watching this video I have started to creat my own!! Keep up the great work !!
I was goofing around with my .54 caliber muzzleloader, and made cartridges outta of rolling papers. Was cool at reloading time, but were kinda a pain to make up. Might try it again, with some of those heavy brown hemp papers, might a little more durable. Newspaper works great too.
@@tomcline5631 I use to do Civil War re-enacting. I had a Parker Hale 59 caliber Enfield 3 band Musket. I use to make my cartridges out of news paper that worked very well. One thing with any muzzle loaders is the risk of a burning ember when loading the next round. I have only seen this happen once and fortunately he had the muzzle pointed away from him. The best way to load a muzzle loader is to pour the powder down the barrel. Unlike my breach loading Sharps which had a cigarette paper cartridge.
@@stever4181 Yeah, been warned about that all my life, never personally seen it happen with a rifle, saw it with a cannon once. I had a swab, with windshield washer fluid and swabbed it out after each shot. We were just goofing around, trying things we'd read about. Haven't shot for quite a while, miss it. We'll keep your powder dry buddy stay safe and healthy.
@@tomcline5631 I haven't shot for too many years Especially since I moved to England 23 years ago. They don't like guns here. Like you I really miss it. When in America I introduced my English wife to shooting who say, I was really scared but really enjoyed it. {"Well keep your powder dry"} You do likewise my friend. It's a bit rainy here at the moment but I'll try. God bless!
Wow great work, looks awesome. How much? and can you make it larger for lets say a golf ball size and 875 grains of powder. I love it can't wait to purchase one of your cannons. Keep them coming.
You should sell these. Hobbyists and military equipment and gun collectors such as myself would buy one. Or sell prints. My father and brother have a complete machine shop.
Me in a gun fight:damn i missed. The enemy:im bouta shoot yo... Me:wait one sec let me reload its gonna take around 15 seconds. Enemy:ok then. Me:misses again. Enemy:GOD DAMN IIIITTT!!!
