This project had to flop because the style is not desirable to the elite. They don't want the youth to aspire to look like these young men(at the time) or talk like them. Another reason is the wordplay, the first bars alone. 200 fallen angels balling from every angle. That shit can't be mainstream in their eyes. One of the reasons why NY rap is dead. Too descriptive
The album flopped because every major label had their hand in the cookie jar, as far as that album goes. Nobody (The Labels) wanted to meet half way, when it came to splitting the money. So the labels just chose to dump the project. Look at the back of that album, there's a million record label logos.
It was prolly because it showcased all star talent from production (dr.dre) and heavy hitting rappers..i think people were expecting something we've never heard before...and its about style the firm with east coast flavor my have struggled with wesy coast boogie sound look how Rakim and Dre had creative differences. Still a good album the firm that is
Lmaoo he thought he was slick , he was making Foxy hot check how he smirk when Fox ignored Liz question about trackmasterz lmaoo but believe it or not I met foxy brown in a whole foods store in manhattan . She was real cool and down to earth
Thank you! I've been trying to find that song for years! I remember being 16 in '97, hearing that, and thinking it was the T.O.N.Y remix. Thank you because you are the ONLY one to clear that up for me. Peace.
I just commented about how I been bumpin' Nas' Greatest Hits or some shit and somebody hit me with this. For the record,I definitely didn't sleep on Firm Biz.
They never got into a fight people just got in there ear and they were no longer friends. They were supposed to do a song together called Thelma and Louise but that or them doing anything together will probably never happen
When lez asked foxy that question why did she kind of smirk and look away? Nas peeped it, cause he king smiled. What was that about? Foxy syrrsufht ignited her. I thought it was rude as fuck.
Onyl if they did an album like Az and Nas' mo money mo homicide,Life's a bitch, affirmative action or La familia that featured Cormega. That album would have got mad love in the streets but sold even less records.
I was 25 Years Old in 1997, in my Young Adult PRIME !!!!!!! and NYC HIPHOP , RnB & REGGAE CLUBS was on FIRE !!!!!! lol I was literally going out PARTYING every Weekend, and i do mean on FRIDAY NIGHTS, SATURDAY NIGHTS & even SUNDAY NIGHTS, still making it do work tired & sleepy as hell on MONDAY mornings, , by any means necessary !!!!!! LMAO TRUE STORY !!!
See that VLADTV?? Professional journalism. Not sitting there asking rappers about their crime life and affiliation with the streets. Just how they put together a dope album, their craft, and the producers involved. VladTV ain't Hip Hop. It's a tabloid show.
Nah Foxy is actually cool. I met her in a whole foods in Manhattan . She actually was real humble and nice, i dont know how her attitude was back then though
@Nando6413 ...Do you mean Foxy 'fell off' in terms of looks or musically? I'm asking this because she's back to looking like herself now. As for her career, we've all heard the stories of how supposedly 'crazy' she was back then (And even now, to some extent), so that and her going deaf some years back contributed to her not being on the scene as much.
Can we please get homegirls back to the “air brake” hairstyle like girlfriend with the updo? And Fox looks amazing she’s so cray with that lipstick love you girl!
I doubt it--Biggie & Jay were not only friends back then, but Big/Kim & Jay/Fox came out around the same time (1995). Also, Biggie wanted Foxy in Junior M.A.F.I.A., a fact attested to by Undeas (Another old friend/hustling partner of Big's who ran the label that Kim was signed to at the beginning of her JM & solo careers, Undeas Entertainment) and Foxy, among others, so if Foxy was such an 'imitation,' then why would Big want two of the same person in his group? That doesn't make sense at all.
Why people hated on the firm album, I dont give a if they didnt live that life, negros could live that live if the want to, they arent fronters, its about the displaying the craftsmanship of the art.
