I think the same thing that happened with Royce da 5'9 also happened to AZ. Both of them frequently collabed with 2 of the biggest emcees of their time Eminem and Nas and even released group projects with them. I personally thought AZ and Royce held their own on tracks and projects that they had with Esco and Slim Shady. But when you tag team with Batman, you are often gonna be perceived as Robin by an ignorant audience.
Burning hot ! but the lady kills it. Which is why She was on the official records. too bad she's half naked to sing. Unlike THE mentor Missy Elliot , still here today, with Latifah..ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-69FkmECYOxY.htmlsi=2RuzJSiWtghPFknS
How is it possible I never knew this song was ever performed live? This shit is still on my playlist. 🔥🔥 And yes I am one of the people who fully believe It Was Written was better than Illmatic
@@noorurHere we again!!! Dr. Dre doesn’t write shit but makes best mc list every time. Soooo many artists/rappers don’t write their music and still are praised for being the best.
This son was fire back then and still is today. Crazy lyrics and delivery by all. I love all the artists. Fox and AZ should have been much bigger. Just know there are many people out there like me who recognize and appreciate your music and talent.
@@NoHomeTraining27th I always heard Jay penned that verse for Fox. You can almost hear some of Jay's cadence from his Reasonable Doubt style. Interesting.
@@NoHomeTraining27th Fam, it's really not that serious. I'm too old to be arguing about a 25 yr old verse. Just mentioning what I heard over the years. The verse was fire no matter who wrote it. "We stay incogni' like all them thug niggaz in Marcy" was the lyric that always raised an eyebrow. Foxy ain't from Marcy and Nas is a QB guy. But you got it.
I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS PERFORMANCE WHEN IT FIRST DEBUTED SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO WAS BIG IN THE 90s & I WAS LIVING IN HARLEM LIVING THAT LIFE AT THE TIME 1996 🥂🍾🥂🍾💰💰💰🔫🪖🩸💯💯💯🤞🏿
I tell everyone I know once the decision to cut Cormega out of the group was made that was the beginning of the end for The Firm. Just listen to his verse on this. He was the muscle of the group, the enforcer. Nature is a dope MC, but he brought the same energy Nas and AZ brought and that's not what this group needed.
Facts my brother. That's when I became less of a Nas fan and then Mega's biggest fan lol. To this day. I will argue with anyone that Mega's catalog is just as good as Nas's.
This is one of the hardest albums back in my day. 🤔 I never seen this until December 30, 2023 and i didnt even knew this existed. Foxy Brown was definitely and always will be one of the hardest rappers, facts. ✊🏾
Imagine how big this would have been with social media around a rap Avengers group Foxxy alone would have inspired many more with her beautiful presence if this was 20yrs later some things are before there time🧭🤔
@@juliopadua641 No doubt, but the commenter was attributing lyrical genius to her, which in this case is a misattribution since I believe Nas wrote her verse. Thats all. Her delivery killed it though for sure
@@mikef6063 You thought Foxxy Browns new single was hot? I wrote that shit in 5 minutes in a parking lot! - Mad Skillz ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ny_g_UipmDA.html
So her Math isn't exactly wrong, double it times 3, is supposed to be 96 right? However, She says 48 because Cormega (or Mega) is selling it too so she says “double it times three we got forty-eight” because 96 divided by two (Foxy and Mega) is 48. I mean it mostly appeals to those who have sold drugs before so they'd probably understand it better, she just needed to add "each" for clarification but that could've messed up the flow and she didn't really consider that general audiences might not understand it as well as actual street cats. That's the issue.
imagine what the firm album would be if they continued this path, structuring the album like a movie/full mafia concept album with beats like this. Desperados, firm tap, la famila, firm fiasco are legendary, if we got 6-7 more songs like them, it would be one of the greatest rap albums of all time
