I had a Vizsla for 12 years but sadly he passed away 2 weeks ago, he truly was my best friend. You've made an amazing decision having one, you wont regret it. Good luck!
When mine was just about to turn 13 he also passed. They really work their way into your family. My second Vizsla Nelly is no means a replacement but god she is adorable 🥰
I had a Vizsla when I was a teenager. I loved that dog. When I came home from work, he was so excited to see me that you would have thought that we had been apart for months. Apparently, they require a lot of attention though. They can get nervous and start chewing up stuff if you leave them alone too long.
I just lost my Vizsla "Maverick" 3.5 months ago. He was with me from 2 months old to 14 years old....my true friend and companion. I miss him dearly...Good News!! I am getting a male pup in 4 weeks...Offspring from Mavericks bloodline....So I get to do it again....I am so excited to give and share the love that Vizsla's bring in the home....Congrats on your little guy, you will be blessed with his companionship.
You are in for a life changing experience ! They are the greatest dog ever. I am on my 3rd one. She is 8 now. Have had Vizslas for 34 years. I love all dogs, but will never own any other breed but Vizslas. Happy times your way, congratulations on your beautiful Vizsla puppy!!!!! Andy
Most beautiful n loving ever . Mine visuala is 16 yrs old he was just like this when I got home .. he cried for a day tho whole night I had to keep him with me .. still he behaves like puppy . I just love him . My family loves him. He is our life our soul beautiful soul. .
When we were living in Lincoln UK we bought our Vizsla ( Fudge ) from a Hungarian breeder. 2 years later I am a Brit living in Hungary with my Hungarian Wife and a dog that has returned to his Native country.
This all looks very familiar: first night, sleeping nearby, climbing up onto the sofa. My Vizsla is now 7 months old and I still can't believe how loving she is. Oh.... and she still prefers the sofa.
@@LordCannonTheVizsla Yes, I remember that too. He'll grow out of it, but of course you should try to help him on the way. Our little girl got to see the snow falling last week for the first time. Confusing a little as she tried to snap at the flakes falling down all around her. :)
A home is not a home without a vizsla. Still trying to get over the loss of my last one. My first was with me 16 years and 4 days. I miss him sleeping in top of me in my recliner
I’m sorry for your loss. I have to say Cannon has become very much part of our family, even though he is slightly challenging at the moment, he is great fun! 😀
@@LordCannonTheVizsla the more time and energy you put into any dog will pay off in the end. I always treated my dogs like my children and in the end i had people asking me if he was human. My second lasted only 2 yrs. passed from a very rare genetic disease. Polymyositis. Trust me a vizsla loves to learn
@@LordCannonTheVizsla treat in hand leash held tight and daily until it was natural for him. When i stop his cue to sit and stay at my side. Arm Lowered so he smells the treat
Your boy is beautiful. My girl is just over 9 months old now. She cried the whole journey from the breeder's to our home. Luckily 3 of her litter mates live nearby, so we arranged to meet in our local park. She recognised her brothers instantly, had a great play around for about half an hour, came home with us and we had a very unexpected settled night. Never managed to get her crate trained, she hated it so we didn't persist. And my girl's routine is pretty much like your boy's - so not a morning dog!
They are so so warm And beautiful, and they follow you everywhere, shower, laundry you name it, mine is 9 years old, I can't imagine life without her , like a human but the best kind ,, of human if you know what I mean .
Lucky you found one so close. I just drove 19 hrs to get ours for Christmas (new year's day actually) . She rode in a crate with only a little bit of barking. We let her out every few hrs. Didn't give much to eat and drink so she wouldn't get car sick. Just a bit through out the day. She did ride in my lap after the first stop just because I wanted to be with her haha. And she did sleep in my bed the first night only because we got home so late. But now she is crate trained and hasn't been invited to the couch yet, but I do sit on the floor with her until i get a chair for us. This is my second Vizsla.
Wow 19 hrs, I don’t think I could have handled that!! That was our mistake, we didn’t give him an invitation to come on the sofa, he just invited himself 😂🐾
I HATE HATE HATE YOUR VID!!!! Now I want another Vizsla puppy!!! I have a 7 yr old male Vizsla and I couldn't imagine life without that little guy. Velcro dogs they are!
So cute! It'll get easier. They are crazy their whole life, but you get used to it pretty fast. 😊 Our V is turning 4 this summer, it was a rough start (he's hyperactive so it's difficult for him to focus) but now we're best buddies. 🤍 There is no dog like vizsla. 😍 I wish you many happy years with this handsome ginger boy.
Miss my buddy we had to say "good bye" to 6.5 years ago at the young age of 8. He was the one to join you on HIS couch and just fall asleep beside you or on you, whatever he preferred. Didn't matter cuz he was a badass dog, we got a girl at the moment and they're definitely different midnnets male/female...things are more on her terms although she LOVES attention and playing so it's good enough for me, not for her. I can tell her agitation when we go from playing to me trying to calm her down to just relax, humans get tired of playing tug-of-war and tossing binkies too yaknow lol!
Our vizsla is called Barney. He is super crazy at night but he is always tired in the morning. The sad thing is that he’s really car sick and when we got him, he was sick 5 times ): YOUR VIZSLA IS SO CUTE.
We get ours two weeks on Sunday. Exactly the same with never having had one before but cannot wait. Am hoping after growing up with boxers, these should be a little less nuts 👀 Looks gorgeous!!
I have had a Visa for 6 years they get their feelings hurt very very easy it would be the best dog you've ever had mine is like a human her name is Gigi
Lol well done nice hey? Your spoiling him lol you should have kept him in the crate and kept checking every hour to take him out to pee lol. WHOS THE BOSS 🤣🤣
What a precious little boy! He will be an incredible blessing to your lives. I am about to shop for my 3rd, as we just lost our lab a few weeks ago and its my turn to pick. Your breeder could have helped the trip home by taking the pups out for a long playtime before you arrived. Much like with horses, exercise solves a lot of Vizsla problems. Best wishes.
Thank you for the lovely comments. We are very lucky to have him. I’m sorry to hear about your lab, good luck with the Vizsla search, they definitely are great company! 🐾
You don't own a vizsla, the vizsla owns you. They are one of the most energetic breeds and require enormous amounts of vigorous exercise daily. You will no longer need to visit the gym or health club because keeping pace with your new vizsla will keep you fit.
if this is your first dog you probably should have started with a Labrador retriever. The Viszlas seem to be very hyper, affectionate hunting dogs. I'd like to get one but am afraid to because I have 3 cats.
I am getting prepared for my Vizsla - Ginger who is expected to be in Singapore by the 3rd week of May from the UK. Your videos have been really informative and helpful and such a joy to watch. Getting me very excited and cant wait for Ginger to be in Singapore later this month - thank you
I am still waiting for my vizsla puppy. My husband isn’t convinced. I know that puppy time can be taxing so I need this to be a family consent. What mistake have you made with the crate?
I don’t recommend getting the rope toys because it could get up in his intestines and make him throw up that’s what happens with are dog so I do not recommend getting those just to warn you
Kongs are great until they figure out how to get the treats out of them.........we finally figured out why our girl loved them, she knew the trick to get easy food xD
Make sure u have enough time with them .. they are like little kids who never grow up . Full of attention n love exercise they need . So get only if u have time foe them
Hi Enjoying your videos. Keep them coming please. Hoping to get a vizsla in a few weeks. Couple of questions of which I've got loads. What is best set up for him sleeping. Is it bed in playpen or crate in playpen. Has he cried much in night What is the general view on crying dogs so much conflicting advice. Let him cry or not. I tend to be in the comfort him camp . What insurance did you get. Have you got leather collar or nylon
Hi, glad your enjoying them! We have a bed in his crate for nighttime, we had a big crate to start with but he settled much better in a smaller crate. His bedtime crate is in our utility room. We also have a bed in our kitchen which he sleeps in during the day, he settles in that now but before I was putting him in his crate for naps as he couldn’t settle himself and would get very over tired. We did use a playpen for the first 3 weeks but that was mainly to put him in to chill out because the biting was so bad! I gave him a treat every time he went in the crate. He did cry quite a bit to start with and woke up every few hours but I took him out to pee and put him back and within a few weeks he started sleeping almost through the night. He goes in the crate fine now. We got the best insurance we could from day one as he is so hyper! We started off with a small nylon collar and now he has a leather one. Hope that helps, we have made more videos since this one that may help further. 😊
thanks for the prompt reply. Obviously you've not gone out celebrating New Year like the rest of us in tier4!!!!!! We've watched your other videos, helps to give us a few tips from your experience. Keep safe
I had to have my 13-year-old GSP euthanized back in early February of this year. I have decided that my next puppy will be a Hungarian Vizsla. I will find me a Vizla in late spring 2023
Two main mistakes we made. One was that we didn’t make the crate the most exciting place in the world to be in on the first day by putting lots of treats in there. We did it a couple of times but not enough and secondly we kept the crate door open on the fist night and that just made it worse from the second night as he hated having the door closed!
@@LordCannonTheVizsla , for mine it took 2 or 3 days to keep him sleeping all night long without any activity. Now he is 9 weeks old and he wakes up once at night to make a pee) and couple of times to observe that everybody at their places. He sleeps beside my bed, so i can control him anyway. I mean he has his own dog's bed on the floor, beside my bed.
00 I have a Hungarian Vizsla she used to be 4 years old March 9th 2021 oh my God it for my best friend but she's not full-blooded Bissell she is a mixed with pitbull she is gorgeous and I wish I could be able to send you a picture of her but I love her and nobody knew about Hungarian pointers until I got her some puppies you know dogs get pregnant by different dogs well I don't know what happened I didn't know they was the best Le in the simplest ility where I'm at but she is and wow they are very jealous dogs especially over dogs and cats and they will kill a cat but other than that she's perfect
Crate for a Vizsla is not a good idea: 1. she will never feel comfortable in a crate. She can accept, but it is far from her natural behavior. I never understand why people, who choose a Vizsla want to put them in a crate. 2. you, as an owner will miss a lot of, a lot of what made a Vizsla as a Vizsla. You never experience the great feeling when a Vizsla really bound to you, when they sleep with us.
Sorry but no. Crate training has so many benefits, one being preventing chewed up furniture, which an energetic puppy like a Vizsla would do. It also helps with separation anxiety as It gets them used to being on their own for short periods throughout the day. It’s a great way to bring routine into your dogs life by crating after meals, walks, while you are cooking dinner etc. Dogs don’t stay in the crate constantly. It’s a place they can and choose to go to for safety, not as punishment. My dog and tons of other dogs love their crates.
