This game genuinely looks fun, its like fall guys, but boxing. I recommend adding different gloves that add a different effect when you connect a punch, and maybe some fun gimics like, the arena tilting and stuff. Im a fan of boxing, but UFC is too grounded for me.

Im currently learnnig C++ at the age of 35. I havent programmed or fucked around with code since writing Visual Basic progs and mIRC scripts when i was 12-15. Needless to say, ive easily cut 5 years off of my life from the constant frustration of error messages and trying to wrap my head around the more advanced, aunerysm inducing, concepts of the language... This video has given me hope and a the boost of confidence i needed to push through learning something so complex at this age. I originally began learning C++ for machine language with the hopes of eventually getting into game development. Now i can see a clear path that im actually excited to take. Thanks man. Great video.

I've been watching since the beginning, nice to see how well it's going! Also protip: If you have a 'Print String' executing every Tick, expand the node and set the Duration to 0. This will make debugging much cleaner, as it will only take up one line and still update per frame.

Well u described pretty good how beginners gettin in trbl with unreal the first weeks or months thats rly nice to see someone can rly explain that in a video that good :) But there is a Point i definitely have to disagree alot since im working for more than 4 years now with unreal and completed now 4 small and 1 pretty big project (soulslike game). And thats the programming part. First at all - YES its fine to stay with the Blueprintsystem as a Beginner. BUT - at some Point, if u rly wanna get a deeper understanding of the "Unreal Way" to produce quality Games u have to take ur Eyes on the "Reflection System" of Unreal. Well its a pretty technically thing i know but its important and its pretty sad that Ben, who is doin a good Job at teaching the Unreal coding Stuff to so much Ppl, dont take care about it. I have just realised that by watching an Epic Devstream on Twitch there the Leadprogrammer of Fortnite was speaking about it and why its so important because the whole Workflow for Unreal Games is guided by this System. Realising and learning this gave me a complete different Point of View how to handle the codingpart in Unreal with both, C++ and Blueprints :) Now im understanding in depth what im doin and why im doin it. There are good reasons to take in some cases Blueprints, espeacially when it comes to "Designerstuff" like Transitionhandling with the "TimeLine Blueprint" or the "Spawn Emitter" stuff :) Learning how to handle the UFUNCTION() and UPROPERTY() Macro in C++ the right Way with all its Parameters (BlueprintReadWrite, BlueprintCallable, BlueprintNativeEvent etc...) will give u so much control, its just like MAGIC

All of that would have been possible in Unity too though... just because you lacked motivation doesn't mean the engine sucks lol

yh but you'd have to have deep pockets because everything on unreal engine is on unity but in the asset store

I think you should go easier on the effects, with just the punch animation whoosh, and the shockwave, i don’t think you need anything else. also i think you should put the damage numbers in the same font as some of those effects.

maybe you in the future you could make a special effect for the final blow, such as changing the camera position to be behind the guy getting struck, along with slow-motion and maybe some perspective distortion. I think it would be cool ! ^_^
