Sounds interesting. Most players of Britain go for many Highlander units after training some musketeer squads. But yes the British Grenadiers are the strongest of the game so it could definitely be worth a try to go more or less directly for Grenadiers after u have built the blacksmith and researched grenade production there (which is necessary)

@@napoleonicwarsonline yeah i refined it to an art, where i had like 12 paesant on wood 8 at stone, so i know exactly at 30 sec i build blacksmith at 2min trade, at 3 accademy. i mean was almost 15 years ago, i am sure once you got the idea you can retro engineer the concept.

The early grenadiers strategy is really strong for Britain on certain maps. You dominate with grenadiers the much weaker troops of your enemy in the early stage of the game. Thanks for the tip!

@@steve5123456789 Vs fast nations able to out produce me before i reached the critical point of having enough granadiers (usually on start fight vs ottoman or russia after that is an avalanche effect with granadiers) fact is they gained shitload of experience so if you won the first fight you could disband one enemy batallion by fire and defeat another 2 even by taking fire absorb it then melee since they gained soo much extra melee damage like +20 +30 and have shitload of morale so they only disbanded/flee when you had like 25-30 man left. So only granadier+cav and sometimes highlanders+granadier production But you need to play with market a lot upgrade your resources asap and trade for coal/goal. The other nation i was playng was Prussia and i was mono producing black watch+a mix of granadiers later, fact is black watch like british granadier gain way more then others by making experience.

@@zedthefifth8046 the fusiliers. They are much cheaper concerning food costs. Although the voltigeurs making high shoot damage I think it's not worth because you then dont have much food to trade at the market which is crucial for a fast development in economy and military

Hey, luckily I haven't experienced fps drops. Maybe your pc is even too good for this old game. ;) Do you have the steam version? I think thats the best version concerning compatibility with new pc systems.

I have the GOG version and I fixed it by making log.txt in the game's main folder "read-only". I'm just a little bummed about my version missing the online option :(

Luckily not. The steam version works well under my OS which is Windows 10

I read somewhere that you should set the resolution to max. 1366x768 and volume sliders ingame to max. (turn down in Windows so as not to incur hearing loss ;). I haven't had a crash so far since I did that a few hours ago.

Press "F7" on the keyboard. :) I dont remember the name of the map but it's not a special map, it comes with the normal game.
