Olá, boa noite. Dan you are so fortunate to have Português roots. Some of the nicest people in the world. I imagine you plan to visit your parent’s home towns. It’s so easy talk with locals (even for us non-Portuguese… a friendly greeting and they might just be inviting you into their homes (and hearts) for a meal. I hope you take your time and slow travel through all the regions… East to West in the Algarve alone is different and you will find that throughout this small country, the variety is tremendous. Be it landscapes or food, it’s incredibly diverse. I’ve just subscribed so I can follow along. Great job on the fish Leanne. I hope you’ve come to realize that horse was an incredibly special visitor! What a welcome!
Love the positive attitude. I've been running into van life channels that use drama and clickbait for views, and it's refreshing to see someone enjoy themselves
Leanne great job on the fish! My mouth was watering just watching it sizzle! We are off to Spain from Manchester via France in a couple of weeks! Enjoy guys!❤
Hello. I hope you enjoy visiting Portugal and finding your roots. If you have time, stop by the town of São Martinho do Porto, which is a beach that is perhaps the most beautiful in the country. A perfect shell made by nature.
I'm new as a subscriber, but I'm already addicted to your videos, which are very good, I don't live in Portugal, and watching your videos from Portugal, I'll feel closer to Portugal, thank you very much and have a good time
Love your travels and have to say LeeAnn's smile so infectious , Sardines next time cook over fire or charcoal coat with lemon a little olive oil fresh salad and a bottle white wine or a rose , beautiful country.
When you drive to the area of where your Grand Dad came from, you will get that ‘feeling’. I know I did when I drove into my French families village, it was very special! Cherish the time, enjoy every bit of it!
Dan said his grandfather came from Madeira, a Portuguese island in the Atlantic, off the North African coast. Don't think there's a ferry anymore so they won't be going there in the van. A side trip by air from Porto or Lisboa?
Your first video was great. I was thoroughly entertained and found myself laughing out loud 🤣🤣😂😂 especially when you had an unexpected guest appearance 🐎 🤣 I have travelled in the van a few times and fell in love with place, especially on the Silver coast north of Lisboa. You must visit Nazare and Sao Martinho do Porto. I shall be following you both on your journey. Such a lovely couple 😉🚍⚓️🇬🇧👍🍷🍷
The horse clearly liked my cooking😜😂 loving Portugal so much, can see why you enjoyed it too😁 excited to show you more videos and how we explore Portugal😁🫶
Great episode, been following you since you were in Scotland. You will love Portugal we have toured there the last 2 years. Don't miss Obidos. Costa Nova. If you make it to the Northern Border Caminha is beautiful. Yoh should consider the North Coast of Spain as its absolutely beautiful up there. Santiago de Compostela definitely worth a visit. Looking forward to your travels.
Fellow full timer here and just found and subscribed to your channel, looking forward to going back to see your past travels. And can I say how brave and amazing you are to go out into the Vanlife world and not be vegan 😂 great work 🥩 🥩
Welcome to Portugal!!!! 💙 I'm Portuguese and I hate sardines, it's a fish that you either love or hate. And I think you learned the hard way: never cook sardines indoors, unless you have severe smell problems and can handle the smell well! 😁 By the way, sardines don't open and must be grilled. Try eating sardines in a simple restaurant, here we call it a "tasca", not a restaurant for tourists. Ask someone in a market or a store to advise you where you can eat good sardines. It's worth trying. Have a great stay in Portugal! 🌞
I am Portuguese and I loved your first attempt to act as us. To cook sardines inside the van is quite risky. Smell is strong. The horse at the end was epic😂😂😂😂
I can see a big smile and sign of small achievement when you got table. I can relate that as I got Can wooden chairs, first furniture of my house! Oh my what a feeling it was !! You guys are really doing good....and yes shower area in van is very small but understandable.....
This comment is for Leanne: Great job on cooking the fish! The presentation was amazing, like something you'd see in a restaurant. I bet it was even fresher since you just bought the fish. I wish I could taste it-lucky Dan! It looked incredible, and kudos to you for researching the recipe and cooking it so well.
Find the flamingos at the salt mines outside Tavira, choice camping. Love eating along the boardwalk in Cabanas. There are way fewer people in the East.
First of all, welcome to Portugal and may you leave here with the best impressions. You have to be careful, as there is a large coastal strip where staying overnight in a motorhome is prohibited by law... I've already been approached by the authorities for staying overnight in my little microcampervan in one of these areas and the fines are quite expensive! I don't even want to imagine the smell that will remain inside your van after cooking the fish, especially the sardines!!! 😁😁 All the best to you and if you pass by Coimbra, I will be happy to buy you a drink!
This video reminds me of an old friend I knew from living in Vancouver. Annabella, hated fish. She went back to her roots in Portugal and learned the hard way to like Seafood! 😂😂😂
Watched and subscribed after watching the Algarve video, loved it. Welcome to our beautiful friendly country which you will love and might even consider relocating here permanently as many have done such as Americans Mr & Mrs Adventure near the Algarve (check them out on RU-vid) Take your time in your journey north which you will love. Great job grilling the fresh fish, loved seeing the horse cleaning up your leftovers, how many people can say they had a horse join them for dinner 😅 Take my advice and look into Algarve as a permanent home🏖️🇵🇹🤗
Hi you lovely people! Your doing great with your van life. Both working together and enjoying life together. Great video again it's the simple things in life worth living and remembering. The horse was beautiful usually you attract dogs, cats and hens i wonder what animal is going to come up next to take a peek in your van.😂 I'm glad the fish tasted good well done Leanne. Have fun stay safe always ❤❤❤
I LOVE Portugal!! I hope you make a stop in Salema, Praia de Marinha, Douro Valley, and of course Lisbon! We road tripped up and down the country, and those were my faves
@@thebuddymoon yes, introducing us to new sights would be great! I am so happy for you guys!! I started to watch your Morocco vlogs but unfortunately our travels there, as some others, wasn’t so great so I didn’t continue. I have been to most of the countries you’ve been and watching your vlogs remind me of my time at each spot, and for the ones I haven’t been to I jot down for future travels 😊 I’ve just about watched all of your vlogs though, from the beginning 😀😂
Wonderful episode Dan and Leanne.♥️ The Dead Sea in Israel is very salty and you can float on top of the water there too. I wonder what the people thought of the two crazy people covered in mud were doing. Leanne made a lovely meal, the horse certainly enjoyed it as much as the humans.
You found two beautiful locations, lovely to buy from local markets. Looking forward to seeing more of Portugal. Great you now have table and chairs. Next buy yourselves an umbrella or awning 😉 Home from Home. Curious how many miles you have done since leaving the UK?
Hi Nice try with the sardinhas but that is not the way portuguese people Cook sardinhas. You should try it in a restaurante on top of a slice of bread, with the typical salad. Very Nice video
