The character of Rambo spoke volumes to the feelings of many of the over two million veterans of what we vets called, "The Southeast Asia War Games" that we weren't allowed to win. We were stabbed in the back by Democrat/Socialist/Liberal traitors and their army of drug ridden hippy/yippie scum who met us returning military members at many airports in the USA and - in the words of Rambo - called us "Baby killers and other foul things." We did not get victory parades...at most WWII and Korea vets bought us a drink at the VFW. Vietnam vets learned real quick never to put their military service on an employment form - a quick way of NOT being hired. Also, you NEVER wore the Class "A" - the dress uniform in public - a sure way getting into a fight with some worthless Leftist PIG. So when Rambo The Movie came out in 1982 many Vietnam veterans CHEERED when Rambo destroyed that small town in Washington state. Paybacks are hell - nearly 60 years after my military service in Vietnam ended - I still HATE the Leftist traitors who sold out the USA in the 1960s and 70s. The enemy wasn't in Vietnam - the enemy was our own Democrat Party and Leftist PIGS! SPIT!
@Bobby Brady Yes. As soon as people are gone from areas nature quickly takes over. Even big cities would be taken over by nature quickly if man vanished.
I saw this when I was 17 and never fully grasped the importance of this scene until decades later. I’m 57 now and a retired Army Infantryman, I served 26 years in Active Duty and fought in two wars as such. I’ve lost two men to suicide since the I retired and it’s those buddies that we connect to the hardest and losing one is a stab in the gut that hurts more than you’ll imagine. Hope is what this scene is about to me, once hope is diminished, it impacts us all differently. In the scene we see John behaving normally recalling the memories since men like us always focus on the happy memories or the bad ones will take over. Once he learned his buddy was gone, it was the last straw snapped and he slipped into a dark place, today we call this “going postal” since death seems a preferential option since all hope appears lost. God be with my fellow Grunts out there who ache.
I am Japanese. Japan loves Rambo! There are many people like that. Young people today don't know about Rambo, but people like me in our 50s grew up watching Rambo. In particular, ``FIRST BLOOD'' is a wonderful movie that well expresses the sadness of Vietnam veterans and brings tears to your eyes.
Wow , the editing blew my mind off, this is epic editing, this video must have taken a while to make. Thank you "Herve Attia" for letting fans go down the memory lane. The Rambo movie series is my all time favorite movie series. Sylvester Stallone is my all time favorite actor. Doesn't matter if hasn't won an Oscar, he has won fans the world over, who will be loyal to his movies.
I remember going to Pitt Lake on a boat with my dad, we went right by there when they were filming that scene. Back then we never what movie they were filming until it's release.
@@bellorusso no way. Yo ure crazy. Rambo 11 was fucking great. Great story great action she Rambo 111 was epic Rambo 4 was the second best in the bunch and 5 I'm hearing is really good
First blood is one of the most original, authentic perfectly balanced(compared to reality) movies ever made. Its almost as if though it happened in real life and it got caught accidentaly on camera where the other ones obviously were elaborated on for action. Very original and great.
I remember (watching the first time) when the piece of shit cop fell out of the helicopter, I was screaming of joy! Was 15 or 16 at this time. Great scene. Great film! Sly's best movie! imho
It’s kind of spooky in a way isn’t it ... reminds me of the time I visited my old childhood home which had an open house as it was for sale. I Hadn’t been inside it for over 30 years. I live in British Columbia and always think of this movie when I drive through Hope. :)
I was in Hope this summer visiting family and saw the iconic trestle bridge in Hope that Rambo walked across where Teasle dropped him off and he turns right back around back to town - was not there. They tore it down built a new boring bridge in its place - a real shame. I grew up in Chilliwack just down the road and remember them filming Rambo when I was a kid. After the filming my Dad purchased a lightly used Lincoln Continental (fully loaded) that was said to be used by Sylvester Stallone as his personal vehicle during the filming of the movie.
Has a very emotional ring to it, the music, backdrop, and knowing Delmar Berry died even if it's fiction. Nothing remains the same " leaves that were green are now gold" Great video, thanks...
one of my fav films of all time, great video, brought back memories of seeing the locations of the first blood and the start of an action legend john Rambo! great work my friend
How right you are. I’m the same age. I wore this VHS tape out growing up. I know every line and every phrase of this movie. Great Flick. Sly is a Legend.
Same here, saw the movie first time in cinema at age 13 in Austria. It blew my mind and I was shocked in a positive way. I had never seen such thrilling, hard and impressive action before. After another 12 times in cinema I was able to play the whole movie in my mind with every single phrase, sound and picture in exactly 90 minutes. Rambo First Blood is the highlight of the early 80s.
It's cool how they filmed the whole movie on location in hope and area, never understood why so many other movies jumped around so much for their filming locations , whiny actors I guess . Like why shoot a part on the other side of the country for a useless scene when you could have shot it on any old location ?
Another thing to take away from this movie, is how the media can spin a story to make the good guy look like the bad guy or the bad guy look like the good guy.
If he wanted to, Herve Attia could contact many of the local Vancouver actors who worked on First Blood. Several of them still live in the Vancouver area and some are still working as actors from time to time.
Dude, you created the most enjoyable video I can recall seeing since old Shep was a pup! The scenery with interposed action from the movie is an incredible work of art. Watching this take me to another time, a time I miss so much. Thanks
I'm a kid of 90s generation. Stallone's rambo is my favourite movie. Though i'm an indian resident. It will always be my dream to visit this place in my life if i get a chance to be there.
I get goosebumps seeing this, my uncle had a cottage that my family and I would go too in the later 80's and early 90's I spent almost all of my weekends there during those summers of my childhood, about a year ago I went and visited that area and as I remember burnt in my brain but when I got there it completely grown out, the tree's I mean, the area itself was basically let go, the cottages are mostly down and the place seems haunted almost :( sad part is we can't find one picture of that place from how I remember it, all I kept thinking when I was there was how people used to live there, party, kids running all over the place ect and the lake was very active only to end up so abandoned, I have to live on with very little memories of it and now seeing this video really reminded me of that place as it looks almost the same as this area, the laneway going downhill ect, plus the music sure doesn't help my emotions run high haha, awesome video but def made me think about my past
mateus rosito this was actually the first action movie that inspired all the rest of them. Arnold Schwarzenegger Commando, Bruce Willis Die Hard. I can go on and on
I always thought this scene was the most beautiful and peaceful place I've ever seen. Green grass, blue water lake. It contrasts with what John's life was like. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity of what this place looks like today.
Tremendo!!! Al igual que en el video de "Superman The Movie", es una pena que estén abandonados los lugares escogidos para las primeras escenas de este clásico del cine. Los lugares brillan por su belleza propia.
Thanks for going to these places. It was a great movie. I'm a Vietnam combat Marine survivor. That war was a waste. 58,000 young kids dead for nothing. We the big imperial nation cut and run like a bunch of silly girls. Same thing in Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The United States of Chickens. Lots of millionaires made. They have blood on their hands. You know who you are.
Damn i remember watching for the first time this amazing movie when i was 5 years old in Oaxaca, Mexico and now after 30 something years later it my kids favorite movie. . . 3-2-2020 saludos desde Portland Oregon
Excellent video. Thanks for making it! The book, that the movie is based on, is a great read. It's not quite the same as the movie, but it's just as good, if not better.
It's too bad you don't do more filming location videos. You are very talented and a lot of viewers would love to see more. It is still fun for me to go back and watch your old stuff.
