“I know about whispers / I see how you look at my sister...” Damn. It’s too bad that didn’t make the final cut. My favorite Hamildrops are the first one (Ben Franklin’s Song by The Decemberists), and another version of Burn by Andra Day-the video for that one is gut-wrenching, as is the performance.
One of my favorite lines in this version is "Your enemy whispers so you have to scream" because it's a good way of explaining what was happening, and why Alexander did what he did. I think what was happening, was that Jefferson, Madison and Burr thought that he was engaging in speculation, so he had to prove that he wasn't, and then he got scared that Jefferson would tell people, and there is a possibility that he was telling some people, so Alexander decided that it was better for him to tell everyone, rather than just having Jefferson tell them.
Rachel Ann go was the first Eliza cast in the west end! She is amazing. I was so exited when I saw she was on the day I went last year. Sadly she wasn't feeling too well and was switched out after the first act. So I never saw her version of burn but none the less it was incredible and the second actress delivered sooo hard as well!
Such a great version of Burn. Really shows the ANGER of Eliza and some of those lines SLAP. “...I see how u look at my sister” ???? So good. Plus “...your enemies whisper so yoU HAVE TO SCREEM!” that sh*t hit different
you guys should watch 21 Chump Street, it’s an about 19 minute musical written by Lin based on a real story and article. you could even do it in one episode :) the story is about this kid who gets mixed up with the wrong people, and that’s all i’m gonna say...
Lexi Lawson (Broadway), Julia K. Harriman (first national tour), Shoba Narayan (second national tour), Rachelle Ann Go (West End), and Arianna Afsar (original Chicago company).
What a difference a month makes!! Lin announced yesterday the recording will be available on Disney Plus in July!!! I think the reason why it was changed is because in the show, shortly after the affair comes Phillip's death. Even though I LOVE IT, the tone of this version was just too angry for the despair that comes next. Maybe?
I just subscribed and gave thumbs up because your reaction to Rachelle Ann Go was fantastic. Thank you so much. Please react to Rachelle's and Lea Salonga's The Movie In My Mind or Rachelle's Burn or Broadway Medley.
i just watched your favorable reaction to Sara Bareilles's "Yellow Brick Road". Sara also did one of these Hamilton cuts,"Dear Theodosia". It's killer! ...and another trivia bit...Julia Harriman (from this video), did a version of Blowin' In the Wind (classic) with Scott Hoying and Mario Jose. ...and one more for you...if you liked Rachel Ann Go from this, watch a duet she did with Eva Noblezada "Movie in My Mind" from Miss Saigon. If it takes $5 to get you to do this, i'll be happy to oblige.
oh im really late finding your guys' new channel. did the old one get copyrighted? thats a shame :/ i liked rewatchinf your reactions haha. oh well. glad you guys are back anyway
i have to thank lin manuel miranda for this. if he had put this in the actual soundtrack, i would have been obsessed with hamilton for much longer than 3 years.
Please react to Shoshana Bean- She Used To Be Mine, from Waitress. You won't be disappointed! There is one that is actually a live stage performance, and one that is a live studio performance(broadwaycom).
You guys need to do a react to the Hamilton cover Dear Theodosia by Trey McLaughlin, Jamal Moore, and Arthur Chapman!!! It’s so beautiful it makes me cry every time
