I think the appeal to these videos is you’re the “Everyman”. Just the average individual taking us through a journey and showing the world that it IS possible to budget and hopefully save. You’re a hustler and a leader. Keep up the good work. You’re a beacon of light in this otherwise dark world.
Yes! This is exactly what I like about the channel too. There’s another budgeting channel I watch & the woman has like $7,000 in each of her kids savings envelope- both kids are under 10 years old! Definitely not relatable to the average person.
She actually speaks up clear and loud enough to hear what she’s saying, too. I’ve had to stop watching some other cash stuffers because I just can’t understand what they’re saying without straining, even though their videos were good otherwise.
I'm as 63 year old male. I probably watch 100's of videos from financial experts weekly. I was recommended one of your videos by RU-vid. The information and concepts I got out of your video are more worthwhile than most of the info I get from all the "so called" experts. You are awesome and deserve all the success in the world! You should do a basic Savings 101 class which would be required for all high school students. Most people in this country are just lost debt slaves. Keep up the great work! You should create a "Save $20,022 or Save $200,022" for all these high wage earners in the country who save absolutely nothing. Ha ha ha.
You're so right about having a "Savings 101" class RG!. Basic personal finance should be taught in every school. It's such an important skill to set people up for success, and it's a shame it isn't focused on more heavily!
Hey Tara! Love your videos because they’re REAL life! It’s so motivating to see how saving a couple bucks each pay for future planning adds up quickly! Your budget is very similar to mine. I’m grateful that you share your numbers and process because I was becoming discouraged with the large amounts I saw folks stuffing on other channels. We will get there someday too and no shade to them - just to say it’s helping a lot of people. Could you show your dogs sometime? I grew up with labs and want to see them all 😂🥰
I love watching your videos because they are so encouraging. As someone who is just beginning to try to be financially responsible it's great seeing how far you've come
Omg I’m a waitress to but I am terrible at money saving, and I was just scrolling through RU-vid and saw your videos! You are so amazing at this and your videos are fun to watch:) I’m gonna start doing my money like this thank you
Love the challenge boxes, a great idea, every one needs to find what gives true financial freedom and happiness. If your 9-5 gives you that then keep it I love your channel you rock 👍
I ordered the 52 week challenge tracker, and I'm going to do it like you, forward and backward! I'm excited to get it. It was my last purchase of 2021, and this month is a no buy, so hopefully it will work out well!
Hi! I’m retired & on a fixed income . Is it still possible to do cash stuffing? How do I get started ( do you have a video?) How do I determine how much money to start with. I love your videos & your products ☺️ I’m looking forward to getting started!! Thank you 👍🏼
Yes mam I’m doing it I started with a $1 in my categories and I stuff just my spending money and grocery money and I do save my coins and single $ bills.. I saved enough in single $ bills to buy gifts for 6?grandkids which was about $400 and I’m on ssdi.. start small .. I don’t stuff any bill money that’s stays in my acct My binder envelopes Are groceries.. miscellaneous.. Christmas.. $ savings And rollover if any money I use rollover to stockpile So I suggest start saving coins as well in a jar
Thank You both so much for the information!! I will definitely start with watching more cash stuffing videos & also check out Etsy for the envelopes & boxes. I greatly appreciate your response & guidance 😊
I just found you Sunday. Do you have a video that starts from the beginning. I am starting over in life and saving will be what I need. What do you use as an app to record the dollar amount and budget.
Awesome video, Tara! For your 100-box challenge you are doing, what is the total going to be? (Did you label them 1-100 or do what you did last year?) 💕
Hi, I feel dumb for asking this question but as a person who is starting new (new year, new me kinda thing) at saving cuz I'm horrible with money. Question is, are you cashing your check keeping it and separating it then putting it back? I have some of my bills on auto draft. How would that work?
I dislike auto draft for the very reason. You have no flexibility as to the draft date. That said, if the bill is paid monthly you may not need an envelope. For auto insurance (paid every 6 months), when it gets close to the draft day, take cash out of the envelope and deposit it in your account.
I just found your channel. I so want to do this. Is that a tablet that you are using? I’m going to order some of your boxes on payday. Can’t wait to see how I do
Tara I’m sure that you miscounted your baby fund. You should have 153! 🙂 also will you be adding any more mystery cash envelopes for the spring/summer?
If you want an easy, hands off method to invest your retirement money betterment or wealthfront. They will spread your money around and rebalance it for you. Slightly more old school would be starting a brokerage account (vanguard, schwab, fidelity) and investing it in a target date fund. $2 / week will add up if you invest it! Maybe do $3 in 2023 and $4 in 2024, etc
i make sure i have enough left over to cover my bills which i will talk about this wednesday on my channel and then the rest i stuff and put into my savings account!
Is this all just tip money? Or have you cashed a paycheck? How do handle if you have the wallet but your husband does food shopping? This is what messes us up!!
This is an interesting concept but I feel like it's really time consuming. If I want to take a future vacation I figure out the estimated cost, then I put that money away in a CD that comes due right before the trip to repay my savings for the trip (I did this more in the past when interest rates were better). I was always a huge fan of locking up money so I couldn't spend it. Interest rates aren't worth it now. Now is the time to buy stock
