First Chemotherapy? Getting Married? *Cancer Journey* 

I am eating lunch :). My aunt had stage 4 colon cancer. She was diagnosed at age 41 with liver mets covering 50% of her liver and lung nodules. She went through multiple rounds of chemo, Y-90, etc over the years but now has been without new areas of disease for the last 7 years and she is 79 and going strong!

I want to share that You’ve Got This, Girl!!! I am a stage 4 rectal cancer patient with a colostomy. I was diagnosed 7 yrs ago and have been NED the last 2 yrs. My doctor told me to think of this cancer as a chronic condition. It will pop up from time to time, but if we keep up with scan we will catch it early and be able to ablate, radiate, etc. so, please go on with plans. We have one life and need to live for now.❤

That part about you and Matt praying together when you're in bed last thing at night is beautiful, and you're always in my prayers asking to keep you safe. God bless love you all a lot a lot X x ❤️

Something you mentioned here in this video that was just so cute and adorable. When you said that every night before you and Matt goes to sleep, both of you pray at night. Hi Tiffany. I got news yesterday that my breast biopsy was malignant, but still very small and in the early stages so that's a blessing. I've always been terrified of mammograms thinking how painful they must be but you inspired me to get it done and possibly my guardian angel (dad) gave me a push. We got this 💙

I have been watching you for years, Tiffany, and I am very grateful to you. Last week, I received news from my doctor that I will be undergoing some testing for colon cancer. The mass was found 2 years ago, but now there have been some changes henceforth the decision for further testing. Today is the day it all begins, and the 1st thought that popped in my head this morning was WE'VE GOT THIS. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in 2022 with mets to his lung. He started with chemo then radiation, and then surgery to his lung first, then had his rectum and part of his colon removed. He had repeat radiation to a single tumor in his lung in April and now it has spread to both lungs so he's back on chemo every other week. He is also feeling really unwell during the week he has the chemo. He had a bad cardiac reaction to the capecitabine during his chemo in 2022, so they are holding off on the capecitabine this time until he has another cardiac consultation - this time in Boston. They said he will be on the chemo until he can no longer tolerate it or until it is no longer effective. This has been so difficult. Hearing your symptoms helps so much to let us know that he is not having a unique experience. He definitely feels like it is somewhat worse than the first time. I am praying for your healing, Tiffany. You are a gift to each and every one of us who is watching your story. It has helped me tremendously as a spouse and caretaker. You and Matt are adorable together.❤🙏

So sorry to heard your story. This is my third time facing cancer. First colon cancer, I n 2022 endometrial and came back two years later. I just finished what i hope is my last chemo, i‘ll stay with immunotherapy. I’ve been so sick with this treatments I already asked to take me. The pain is unbearable, the nausea doesn’t allow me to eat. I hope God has brighter days for us. Praying for everyone fighting this awful desease.

Hi Tiffany I'm a new subscriber and I can definitely relate to everything your going through. I was diagnosed in2023 with retal cancer, I also have a a stoma and been on chemo for a year and a half now and just recently had a CT scan that showed it has matastified to my lung. I will be starting lonsurf and another drug combined soon. Each day is hard but I'm not giving up I've made it this far even though they said it was incurable. Sorry this is so long I've found a song called calling all angels by train and I listen to that song when I think I can't go on. I will keep you in my prayers and don't give up cuz tomorrow will be better.

You help me to fight. To get up and out of this bed when it's soo painful. You remind me to not take things for granted. You are adorable Tiffany. I'm so glad your able to keep busy even in the midst of what your going through. It's our beautiful 29 year old daughters birthday today. Marisa has down syndrom but loves her family too. She has a beautiful 33 yr old sister...actually Mary reminds me of you. She also has 4 brothers. 2 younger and 2 older. All of my husband of 43 years and my children. They were all homeschooled. So we could never be bored. I got leaukemia 15 years ago at the end of schooling. I'm now going blind. We're empty nesters now. We are out on a beautiful acreage in Alberta Canada...with Marisa and 3 big bernese mountain dogs. Outside dogs. Living our best dream . Thanks to God in our lives. Life isn't over yet. It's just such a wonderful journey, the good and bad❤

Hi Tiff, something that helps me with the nausea is a sweet called GinGins. They're ginger, and easier on a sicky stomach than biscuits. They're available from Holland and Barrett, in store and online. I keep them handy all the time! I'm listening to you while sewing a patchwork quilt that I started in 1997, but am trying to finish before Christmas.

Toss a slice of ginger in your tea or just buy ginger tea. It's wonderful for GI issues. I'm in St Pete Florida relaxing after the upset caused by our most recent hurricane. We're lucky and grateful. We've been having friends over who still have no electricity. We had no electricity either but have a generator so keep the fridge and mobile a/c on. I was diagnosed with depression a few months ago. Every time I see you, I feel so guilty because I didn't have a BIG problem to solve. I had some sentimental and professional issues, that's all. Every time I see you you make remember how insignificant are my problems, and that I need to live life fully, but sometimes it is difficult... My heart goes out to you Tiffany. You've handled all of this like a champ, even in the toughest times so I know that you've "Got This"! I also had cancer but I was SO fortunate to have caught it very early and I did not have to have chemotherapy (which is something that has always terrified me), but I did have to have a long session of radiation. It was on my right breast, so that was the area that was targeted. I just remember feeling alone. I really never spoke to that many people.. I just showed up every day, changed into a gown, got on the table and in about 10 minutes, it was over with, only to rinse and repeat the next day. I just remember feeling extremely tired when walking out after the treatment and other than what felt like a bad sunburn, I really again was fortunate to not have much more in the form of side-effects. It has been almost 7 years and I remain cancer free. There will always be a small part of me that worries when it comes time to have my yearly CT mammography. Again, I know that you, Matt and Oma will face this head on and put it behind you so that you can carry on with your plans for the wedding! I am looking forward to sharing that with you guys. Take care all!

Chemotherapy makes you feel very sick at time and really tired dear beautiful Tiffany. Take it all one day at a time. Lots of rest. Sit in your garden area each day for a little bit of sunshine. Maybe add some more pretty pot plants. Or also some pretty solar power fairy lights as they are so pretty at nighttime. Praying for you always dear Tiffany. We got this girl. Tiffany try a mix of matcha powder, ginger powder, cloves, nutmeg and allspice powders and add some peppermint leaves too in hot water. It's a strong anti cancer tea without the pepoermint but you might like the addition of peppermint since you seem to like peppermint tea. ❤

Tiffany darling, I also have had cancer. I was extremely sensitive to any and all drugs that had to be administered to me. I found that if I sniffed an alcohol swab whenever I was feeling ill, it helped me to get over that feeling of wanting to vomit. I hope, if you try this, it will help you too. I had several stays in the hospital on anti-nausea drips to counter this side effect. Love to you and your family.

Lemon really does help you feel better. I am sitting on my sofa, keeping still because I had a tumble this weekend and either cracked or bruised a rib. Was that the beginning of this cancer journey or something else like Chrohns or Colitis? Tiffany I know you planned a big beautuful wedding in your mind since you were a littke girl but yiu never planned in having cancer you can go to church just the 2 of you, receive the sacrament if matrimony you will be married in the eyes of the church and Jesus and plan a big beautuful celebration in the future when all scans are clear. My husband and I got married quick with my mom dad sister and mother and father in law. We were happy for 34 years raised a beautiful family until he passed. Your body actually needs salt. Don’t worry about too much salt. Your body is 9 pints of blood, 9 pints of water which is actually salt water. So you need to maintain salt in your diet. Think saline drip, it’s actually salt water with other stuff in it..💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙👍💙

Hi Tiff :) you help us all, even us that dont fight such a battle. Everyone is battling their own battles. I got so overwhelmed with my life lately, and yet I think of you every day, and say its all good. I thank the god for health and try to stay positive. You give me strength. I say to myself: if Tiff can smile through all this, you can too! I pray with my 5 year old every evening before he goes to bed, we thank for all we have, especially health. We sometimes pray for other people too. We will keep you in our prayers. You got this! You are auch a wonderful and strong young lady🎉❤

Tiff I love you say “ it’s US! Because for a while I forgot that.. I’m so glad you reminded ME!.. because we are all on this particular journey with you, sometimes we feel that you’re gonna be great but then a bombshell comes and reminds me “ shit “ she’s still in her fight of her life… I think some people see you looking great and feel no need to continue but cancer comes back sometimes and we forget about that.

I know this is long, but most is sort of a little “recipe” that can help with nausea, so anybody not dealing directly or indirectly with nausea can probably skip this post. I was undergoing 7.5 weeks of radiotherapy, part of my radiated area was around my stomach. I got nausea and loss of appetite to the point that I could only eat a small breakfast and drink a smoothie on the way back to medical accommodations after daily sessions. I found ginger chews-which are actually crystallized ginger and which offer a more powerful punch than ginger cookies( (though I kept them around, too) were a help. You can chew a couple at a time, slowly, therefore giving a sort of sustained release. Also, one of my doctors suggested flattened Sprite for the nausea. In case you don’t know: (1). Open a Sprite, pour it into a glass and let sit for several minutes, perhaps 30 minutes depending if your Sprite was refrigerated or already room temp. (2) Slowly pour the Sprite from that glass into another glass and let sit for the same or slightly less time. (3) Pour the sprite back and forth steadily between the two glasses for about 4-6 rounds. This last step can be done more quickly. I wish I knew more exact times, but basically you’re shooting for room temperature, and no fizzy bubbles by the end of these steps. You can sip the flattened, room temperature Sprite with a couple of ginger cookies. These tips might not work for you, but they could possibly help you or someone else. You can just let a glass of Sprite sit out on its own for several hours, and it will go flat-it’s just the doctor told me to do it as described prior. I pray for you and look forward to your updates.
