The amount of editing in this video is insane!! Your videos are just on another level. I’ve been watching F1 for 40+ years and your posts have added another layer of enjoyment to the F1 experience. Thanks Kym. 👍
Is video about the travel of the team's equipment between double/triple headers something you would do? --> How do they move it so quickly between locations? Do they fly with it or separate routes? Is it only planes or do they use lorry/ships? Does the employer cover the cost of the tickets and to/from airports? Do they travel "together" with other teams seeing each other on the same planes, or are they mainly "solo" trips? Can stuff get lost like other kinds of luggage?
Search RU-vid, as others have made some good videos explaining how F1 is staged worldwide. Some equipment is sent by ship far in advance, and duplicate setups are on trucks that drive around Europe. Lots of logistics involved.
Your videos just make me smile. The wine has some that are the same worldwide, and then regional additions as you found from Perth. I know about as much about Formula 1 as you do about wine; so we'd make a great pair !
Excellent story and filming style keeping the viewer totally interested throughout. There are an awful lot of flight reviewers these day’s but in my view only 2 worth following and of course you being one of them Kym.
Always appreciate the videos and wow imagine being amonst the few thousand people travelling around the world for F1 races, to work and perform to the best of their ability. One kind comment but i think better mic quality would elevate the videos to 11/10. Have a good one!
I’m getting so excited about the start of the 2024 season. Your first travel video wets the appetite! Looking forward to following you again for another great season.
I’m a Emirates Platinum and only fly FC unless I can’t get a seat usually can though 30/50 flights a year And yes wine lists in the US and France for eg are different which is great to try new wines from unusual countries
Hi kym greetings from Thailand so 14 mini bars to work your way through is the flight long enough best I can say flight from Gatwick to Bangkok with Emirates London to dubai leg plane barly half full had 3 seats to my self it never happened again shame it was only economy top video as usual stay passionate
New to your channel and after the previous one had to see another. Love the presentation style, laid back and easy going. Used to live in Bahrain so if you want a good burger go to Seef mall Evolution burger built to your choice. As an F1 fan I noticed at the end of your video you are an F1 photographer?. No wonder you have so many air miles. Cool job mate. Subscribed and will check out your back catalogue. Enjoy Bahrain
Hi Kym, great video as always! As a big fan of Emirates in First can confirm that whilst they always have a substantial French wine base they do change their offering depending on where you are heading/departing especially to the big producers such as Australia. Recently flew back from DXB to STN and was heartbroken to watch the FA pour almost a full bottle of Dom down the galley sink before we landed (to avoid the tax I presume!)
Great report - thank you! While my experiences of F&B in Emirates' first have always been nothing short of excellent, instances where travelers are underwhelmed seem to be increasing. Re: wine - a quick win would be to simply add the retail prices of the wines on offer (see how Flip Flop Traveler does it) but to gain a better understanding and appreciation all the different wines, I can heartedly recommend attending a course or even taking a qualification. WSET offer plenty in the UK and I'm sure there must be equivalents in AUS.
Yes sir it is different but same same. Its normally Two "Old World" wines, French, Italian or Spanish and Two or three "New World Wines" NZ, Aus, American or even Chilean.
There's a mint Niikor 400mmf/3.5 ais on ebay, supposedly in mint condition..$799. Sigh. On a D7100- 600mm. So tempting. All I need is a photo pass in Montreal. 😅
When I used to fly BA (when it was good), I was always told that the wine was loaded locally, so the wine list was always different on East-West, and West-East flights. 🍷🍷🍷
Awesome video. Love that you have the whole 1st Class to yourself! I also love Bulgari! Emirates is my favourite airline. Thanks for explaining how to get cheap flights. Love your videos. Cannot wait for F1 to start!
Only fly emirates heading to or from Dubai/UAE. Have started from Brisbane the most, followed by Sydney and then Perth. The wines are almost always the same heading over. On the way back after asking I was told it depends how much was consumed heading out and where the plane had been.
Another great video! Do you edit them yourself or do you have someone else do it? I know you’re very busy especially during F1 season and video editing takes a lot of time.
I'm glad you showed the click reward seat button. QFFP is not the best value, neither is EK, but the 1m plus points is ridiculous. A note to watchers, it is nearly impossible with Qantas to get 2 First Class seats on points so single travelers are better. Business Class better chances of 4 seats but you need to checck like 355 days before the flight. I have flown EK First across the Tasman several times, when there used to be 3 flights a day to AKL, and I have been the only First Class passenger yet still full Cabin Crew for it including the Spa Attendants. Personally EK First is narrow and I tend to leave my suite door open but I so love the A380 and will try to take it every time.
Depends on your routes. I did Singapore to Melbourne in EK First the other week and only paid $100 AUD in taxes. Granted, it's no A380 with bar and shower, but it was very good value for money.
I've often seen Australian wines on trans-asian flights. Can you please tell us about the spirits available? Which airlines have the best Whiskey and Gin? I've found Cathay to give VERY generous nips! PS. you might want to stick AirTags on your lenses!
Credit card deals are the best for airmiles. A long time ago you could order US Savings Bonds or $1 coins from the government online, pay with your card with no fee, and then cash them in at a bank to pay the bill. This was the best deal for many years. So sad to see it go. 😢
There are still similar things you can do though not as easy. As odd as it sounds, I buy and sell virtual items from a game called Counter-Strike. I can buy things for no fee and then sell them for cash. I often profit or break even while still gaining miles, its the only reason I've been able to travel so much this far!
Top video..🙂.. if it’s not too rude of me , can I ask how tall are you ? Just to get a handle on how high those 1st seat enclosures are ? I’m probably not going to be in that cabin anytime soon, but so far you’re the only person who’s shown themselves standing next to and around the cabin .. I’m 6’1 or 1.85m .. they didn’t seem very high next to you though ! Thanks for your hard work , but you seemed to be having a great time up there tbh .. 😅.. 🙏..
Kym, this is why I asked about how you used credit card travel points a few months ago in one of your videos. I assumed you were doing the credit card travel point game more often to get free flights all the time.
Assume you also are using the Qantas Points Club to earn status points on Classic Rewards and yes knowing the system makes flying pretty cool with Qantas particularly as they have life time status accumulation. Taught my kids everything about the system and my youngest son and his fiancée are both off to Adepticon in Chicago next month flying Qantas business and he will earn status points to get him to silver. Ha ha took some doing as you mentioned but cool. I am also off trying Fiji Air so will be interesting to see how many QFF I get. Travel safe and chain your lenses to your belt ha ha
It's not hard to figure out I agree, most people are just lazy. I don't fly that many times a year but have Points Club+ from hammering the credit card sign-up bonuses. I took EK First earlier this month from Singapore to Melbourne, to avoid the ludicrous taxes - only ended up paying $100AUD for that flight. Little tips and tricks here and there to make the system work to your advantage.
I used to love Emirates, but last flights between Brisbane and Amsterdam they screwed me over big time. I paid for extended leg room got less leg room and very uncomfortable seat. No more Emirates
My brother and I like to joke that your name is Kymothy and the fact that your name is so close with your middle name being Anthony is hysterical to us.
Hi Kim was that Emirates flight a QF coded flight? I didn’t think you could use QFF points for Emirates unless it was QF code ? Or is that just for upgrades ?
Interesting..Emirates CEO said the entire cabin currently sells out at these high prices. But your entire cabin is empty. Its almost like they rather fly empty than lower the prices. I hope emirates halves the prices again so you can just buy this flight without meddeling with points.
Best I ever managed was 3 in First Class, if these airlines just slightly lowered their prices they would get more paying customers… oh well, your win.
