"I still don't have magical powers." Yes you do! You transport me to a ferry ride in Japan from my house here in Michigan in the United States! I really do enjoy your channel.
Georgia for me! And I recommended the channel to a FB friend in Oklahoma the other day because she was feeling depressed (to get her mind on something else!) It is totally magical to have such an inside view of wonderful Japan. . .somewhere that I don't know if I will ever see in person.
I live in the UK and even though we're an island nation we don't have this kind of need for ferry travel as we're a fairly flat-land so our internal travel is done by car/train/plane. It's so interesting to see how different each ferry experience is in these vids. The first person view also makes it seem like you're the one actually experiencing it too.
Asking the vending machine if it wants to be unplugged and 'What's wrong?...I love you....We patched thing up' was hilarious!!🤣 I'm amazed at the foods available in these vending machines. We don't have those in the US, not that I'm aware of anyways. Another great video!
@@ThyPandora it really depends where your looking, the US just tends to be ahead in other area's of tech. Also when did and how did the US go fascist? I can understand saying it's gotten worse in the last 10 years but still not fascistic.
@@marianthelibrarian2274 you pay the 50% to not have anyone else join you. The fee quoted was without the 50% charge for exclusive sole use, as the company arent implementing the rule currently due to covid I assume
@carlyjmc right, sorry, i wasn't clear, I realize he didn't have to pay it. Still, this ferry charges a customer a deluxe fee, for a deluxe room and then also expects her/him to pay a fee of 50% for privacy. I would have expected privacy to be part of the "deluxe" experience after paying an elevated rate to begin with.
I’m an introverted American and I absolutely love watching your videos especially before I go to bed. I find them very interesting and relaxing…One day I wish to visit Japan at least once in my lifetime.
It's really interesting (and at times depressing) to see what public transportation is like in different countries. Those ferries in Japan look delightful.
An just like that our hero of the story was denied curry and a surprise guest appearance from ketchup. I am glad that you and vending machine were able to reconcile. Stay tuned next time adventurers, when his magic powers may kick in. Other than the morning rush that looks like a decent bare bones ship, it gets the job done. Thanks for sharing Solo.
as an American who has traveled using ground and air I like watching another country's transportation system even envy yours thanks for making this kind of content
I'm home from work on medical leave and found your channel and have been binge watching ever since! Now I...#1 have placed Japan on my bucket list and #2 need to find a local Japanese food store to try some of this delicious looking food!!
Ah, my weekend piece of chill! As usual, I envy Japan’s super-nice ferries. Where I live, most of the ferries are considerably older than 20 years and don’t have the amenities Japan’s ferries do. I’d love a good quality vending machine on my state’s ferries! Thank you again for sharing your trips with us!
Hachinohe! I used to visit Hachinohe in the 1980s from Misawa! I have very fond memories of those times. Thank you for bringing back memories! Your videos are always a pleasure!
I've visited Japan 3 times now and every time I go, my need to go back grows stronger and stronger. The main difficulty I have with covid is not being able to visit Japan, but your videos help me deal with that. I think I'll move there one day.
I always appreciate your sense of humor, Solo Travel! Though it’s a shame you still don’t have magic powers. 🤣 And I can’t help but “ohhh” and “ahhh” at the escalator. I’ve never seen one on a ship before! 🤩
I came here to "like" any comments about his fantastic humour! "It's not what it looks like, I just don't want to carry coins with me" he says as he goes back for food right after claiming he wouldn't eat anything else lol
I am a fan from Hong Kong. Thank you so much for making overnight ferries 🚢 and trains🚂 videos! I enjoy all of them😊especially when you introduce us to all sorts of sleeping places and the meals 😋. I will keep watching your travel videos. Arigato😄
Can't imagine getting a deluxe cabin by yourself and then having another person allocated to stay with you. I would definitely pay the extra fee if necessary.
STJ, I admire the fact that you make videos portraying a journey that an average person might take, instead of the unfortunate RU-vid trend where people focus only on the most expensive cabins or food.
@@AnnarieNicole True but it's also true that in the west MOST PLACES can't be trusted with them. That's the key point. In these types of conversations there's no logical meaning for one to bring up an "exception".
Just started watching and remembering how your experience was the last time on a ship with just vending machines. I know that you will enjoy your room and hope that the food is better on this journey.
Your cabin looked very nice and it was definitely clean. It used to be (back in the day) when a cabin could accommodate two people, but only one person was going to occupy it, they would charge you double rate to make up for the lost revenue. Sorry you didn't get your curry and rice. I don't think I'd be all that fond of the ketchup and rice, but glad it worked out for you. I thought the snow was beautiful. Just hope you were dressed warmly. Love your food channel too. Waiting for your next videos. 😊
02:00 Confusing?!? Imagine us westeners getting such a form to fill out. I would probably fill it with numbers like a sudoku game. And enjoy the Pikachu faces at the counter when handing it back... 😁
I started laughing when you said it was open all night! I thought, he won’t get any sleep! 😂😂 Then when you said, “I want more” I laughed again! Love your channel! 👍❤️🙏😂
Sorry I'm a year late here, but I worked at two-three retail companies that provided a vending machine in the employee lunchroom with various breakfast, lunch and dessert options. Several shelves were filled with food items. The shelves rotate when one presses a button to see the food. One pays, using paper money and/or coins. The food rotates to the front, where the door opens to retrieve the paid selection. Microwave ovens were available for heating the food, if required.
I found your channel last night when I couldn't sleep and I was just on you tube looking for something to watch, I am now hooked as I really enjoyed your videos and look forward to seeing more, thank you.
When we used to get the ferry to The Isle of Man in the 1970's and 80's to watch the TT, the ferry was definitely more dark ages than this, there weren't any cabins everyone just sort of slept were they were, like lying on the deck or some such, and if it was rough there would be vomit everywhere, or you could have a jolly old knees up in the bar. Actually, thinking about it, there may have been cabins, my old man was probably just to tight to pay for one.
I just found your videos today and have been binging them all day! Your captions are adorable and very descriptive! Love when you said you didn't want to carry around extra coins after saying you shouldn't eat more 😂😂😂
Yes, totally agree that such ‘red eye ferries’ make one feel rushed. If I have to take a car ferry (when not in businesses trip of course) I always go for those arriving beyond 10am to make the trip more civilized.
I enjoy ferry ride than planes. I haven't gotten into any for 25 years. I wish I could do it again. Thanks for taking me to places thru your videos. They are all great!
You know what, before viewing any clip on this solo travel japan channel, i would like to press like button first no matter what content video contains *-: to appriciate the one who made it for us...i really like them all...
Been watching your videos since you started and my gosh are they still such a high standard !! So impressive and your humour is fabulous. All the best and warm wishes from Sydney
The Vending Machine on Ferries are good idea, European haven't learn how to use it yet, could learn alot from Japan. I like your channel "Solo Travel Japan" and other channels, big thumb up as always
I used to love traveling across Canada by bus, but such buses no longer exist. So watching you travel around Japan to see all that your beautiful country has to offer is the next best thing. Happy travels, friend.
I love every single one of your videos. You allow me to feel as if I am somewhere far away, traveling and exploring like I never could imagine I'd be able to do :) I also very much enjoy your musings and observations Thank you so much for your wonderful videos, and I hope you are safe, happy, and doing well!
Thank you for going places I never will. I'm amused that the ferry forcibly reminded me of American hospitals, circa 1980. Something about that shade of beige and the furniture style.
I so enjoy watching these videos and the trains and Ferries are always so clean and well thought out, I wish the trains in America would take lessons from Japan in how to treat customers.
Lol on the part about how he is Japanese, is polite (which is very true btw when I went to Japan in 2019) and was politely asking the vending machine if it wanted to be unplugged. Would love to learn how to be politely angry, too.😂
I agree 100 percent with you my friend I do not like to carry change either, so why let the good food sit there uneaten haha. Another enjoyable adventure, thank you for sharing these times with all of your viewers.
I love your travel videos! That room does look nice and modernist style. I have a fascination with Japanese vending machines, this video is very ASMR for me!😁
