Tried to use the active track technology in the DJI Spark drone to follow a motorcycle up the street. Had a couple close calls, but ultimately it didn't stop in time and hit a bush. Lost one propeller, but the drone is good.
I had set it to follow the motorcycle automatically and I was trying to override the controls when I saw it headed for the tree, but it took too long to stop flying backwards. And with it flying backwards, the obstacle avoidance doesn't work. Fortunately it was low to the ground. I'm going to try that mode again in a much more open area.
Brandon H , fly the thing manually, its going to take a dedicated pilot to fly this thing to get a good shot. After all, one drone pilot is replacing a helicopter, helicopter pilot, and camera operator, Expectations vs reality are totally out of sync, no help from DJI to correct that either.
Brandon H Thanks for the update. It didn't seem right when comparing to other Spark videos, but it's so hard to tell with all the editing people do to their videos in post.
its a 500 dollar drone the camara only shoots 1080p its not as sharp as the mavic or the phantom 4 if you want picture waulity and compactnessss go for the mavic
Betty Brute : active track is what makes the difference between an RC toy and a useful product that will mark a significant decline of GoPro users broadcasting themselves holding a stick...
