To me, square bales make sense for hay and straw, but a baler with wrapper is best for silage, so maybe 2 balers, the wraping one you have and a square baler for hay contracts?
I value honesty very much, it usually is the best way to go. But in this case i struggle to see anything positive comming out of telling Charles it was you. He seems happy the issue is resolved, and the police is not spending any more time and resourses on the case. It's a difficult dilemma, but i think this is one time when keeping the truth to yourself would be a good thing. Love the series FSG, i was a little skeptic at first when yet another one of my favorite content creators started a series at Court Farm. But i stand corrected, this is great!
You need to tell Charles that you are the one that damaged his vehicle. If you don't you are going to keep worrying about it and have anxiety over it. He will be mad but it will be better for your health in the long run to get that off your shoulders. Honesty really is the best policy!!!
Hey FSG, First thing; I'd like to put in my application for helping out on your second crew on Court Farms. My name is Wes and my experience should be plenty sufficient. I am from the Canadian Prairies (accustomed to the large equipment) and graduated with honours from the Olds College of Agriculture and Technology in the field of Agronomy. For the sake of roleplay, let's say that I just moved to the area and am in the little town area on the Southwest corner of the map. The second thing; I recommend a pair of square balers for your contracting business. You can still wrap them for silage, but the benefit of having a pair of square balers is that you don't need to stop mid-row to kick a bale out and they won't roll away down the hills on you afterwards - both very big time and headache savers. Another benefit of having both balers producing square bales is the consistency of the product. You won't have to mix a shipment of round and square bales to fulfill an order to a customer. Third thing; you should come clean with Charles. Eventually the truth will come out and it's never in your favour when things like that happen. Charles seems to be a very reasonable guy and he has his new shiny Range Rover, so I doub't he'll be too heart broken to hear that it was an accident and that you were too embarrassed to tell him.
First things first, telling Charles. It is a dilemma. I say let your conscience be your guide. The baler, have you looked at the Kubota quick baler. You do not stop for bale unloading. Very fast. It also has a wrapper for silage. Once again another great episode.
To the Charles situation: "no harm no foul". If he never finds out, he´ll be none the wiser. If it actually weighs on you concious as much as it sound like it does, just tell him, be upfront and honest. Allthough then you should have told him sooner, been honest earlier. The baler situation: Any and all balers which have a wrapper mounted on the back, you can do bothe hay and silage with them. IRL we get a contractor with a square baler to do the straw for cow rations, and bale all our other feed ourselves with a Krone Comprima 155FC baler-wrapper which we own. So having both a square baler and the baler wrapper in the yard will give your customers the full range of options for their bale needs
Seems to me that if you stick with square bales you'll end up with yet another piece of equipment you'll have to purchase...a wrapper. I've been using square baler for hay and straw on this and Bally Springs. Quick baler is ideal for silage. Thank you for all of your work on this and other series. Makes for a relaxing part of the day. Take care.
Great series FSG, the only Court Farm series I'm still hooked on! Truth always wins, even if it's not in the short term. Go with square bales for hay & straw, keep round baler for silage.
The demoing (is that a word?) of the equipment is a great idea. Charles doesn't need to know and I would go with square bales. That Fastrac will blitz them. Another great episode bud 👍🏻
Don't tell Charles about the Range Rover, that will cause some problems in the future. If the amount of money in the loan is enough for upgrades, go with the tractors on demo if you can use the older equipment as a down payment on the cost. The Veltra and JCB are both good tractors to think about for all year round use, especially in winter the Veltra can be the all in one machine with the bidirectional feature. Keep the baler with wrapper and get a square baler for hay and straw, not sure if there is a square baler with wrapper. Plus you can get more done. Keep the load all and get loader for fastrac in case you need another loader. Also think about another bale trailer as well.
Frankly, the situation is quite simple, he should have parked his car in his yard and not where farming/industrial machinery could possibly cause damage. Its his own negligence that caused the problem, and as far as anyone is concerned he has suffered no lasting damages, and seems to be better off for it. Don't fix that which is not broken.
I am way behind on watching this series.. I saw the first of the NEW series and that made me want to watch this to see how that one (episode 1) came to be.... I am now intrigued to figure out what happened. As for your question of square, round, etc... I personally only like square bales. Probably because that's what I grew up doing as a kid. We never did the round ones. So that's my vote and yes, you need more crews.... of course, you're in America now so my vote is pretty much mute. LOL!!!! As with everything you do, LOVE THIS!!!! Greg
Square bales will be less loads. I would just use a wrapper for the silage. The Fast Track could do double duty loading and hauling the bales on the trailer, just use the front grab.
Ok. Just want to say this. Please get the-, or at least a Valtra. having mostly run Valtra my self, on our farm, I'd like to see some recognition for the brand. I do know It's not that popular but still I have to say I love it. I do not mind You getting the JCB or another brand but I would still like a Valtra as a part of your fleet on this here series. And if any of the grammar on this comment is of not fine quality I do have to apologize as I am a native Finnish speaker. Again the decision is up to you. All respects to you FSG.
What's that old saying? "What the eye doesn't see the heart won't grieve" I would just leave things as they are FSG, as the police have no evidence whatsoever and Charles is happy with his new Range Rover.
I'd say to Charles that i'm not sure but it could have been me while i was plowing snow, On the bailer side i'd keep the two you already have so customers have a option of round vs square bales
For baling season you should had 2 sets with mowers, and one with swat setup would save you time where you don't need to windrow before baling, then use the current set if there is hay contract at the same time
You have to go clean with Charles and say that you have been so busy and whilst clearing the snow off a few months there could have been a chance that snow could have possibly sprayed to areas beyond your vision, and anyway if his car was already covered in snow surely that would have protected it. so who knows it was most likely the local council salt spreader as the road salter spreads grit and salt, whereas you was just throwing snow over the walls and hedge. (so yeah that local road salter) what harm could snow on snow do. For the grass / hay / silage contracting, that Massy Ferguson tractor was the one to keep with that mover it can eat up fields no problem, and you are probably better employing full time a partner / worker that can go ahead with the mover, and you and young fella can follow behind with the tedding, windrowing and bailing etc. for bailers, i agree with others, keep a round bailer with wrapper for silage bails and big square bailer (Fiat Hesston) bailer for straw and hay big bails. sell the Case and keep the Massy, keep the Ford, JCB and could always sell the Renault and replace with a NH T6180 (medium sized tractor with lots of power) or a JD of your choice. traditional windrower is best idea. loving this series mate. keep it going. still surprised that you haven't applied for a work visa to get Argsy across from NZ with his family to help out.
The bail contracts are very lucrative. Im disappointed if I dont double the amount when the surplus bails are sold and added. I accidently done part of a contract wtong but I ended up making £84k from the 2 contracts I accepted that were listed as 29k for both. They were both hay bail contracts but I wrongly made silage on half the largest field before realising my mistake. Half the hay on the large field plus all hay from small field easily completed the contracts with some surplus hay…I then obvs had all the silage I had made. I actually now repeat this when there are a couple of contracts with same product and same sell point.
Square balers all the way and it makes sense to just keep to one bale type. Why tell Charles now? The issue has been resolved and everybody is happy with the outcome 😄
I'd consider the buisness with the old range rover as water under the bridge. If you'd known about it at the time you would have come clean. I think you might require two bailers, round and square.
That windrower you should be able to put it out the middle aswell as each side so learning to use it correctly would of helped your decision. And like many other other don't tell Charles nothing good can come of it at this point 👍🏻 love the series
I'd personally come clean, he shouldn't have parked in the yard where he did anyway. Mark my words nothing good will come from this though. Regardless, you have plenty of contracts to keep you well busy if he gets stroppy and sacks you anyway. Personally, I'd get a big Square baler (Heston?) and a stand-alone wrapper (Heston Compatible). As for the Tractors, the Valtra for the HP & Versatility and the JCB for road speed mostly (the loader is a bonus).
Great episode FSG with great content as always I would get a square bailer and wrapper I find it easy and you just wrap the bails you need to and save the rest and keep up with great work 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PS Charles is happy and the insurance has paid out no need to upset him 😉😉
If you do something wrong you should come clean It might be settled in Charles case with the insurance but honesty is always the best policy and is a sign of real character, I would go for a square baler but that's only because i hate using round balers always having to stop lol, i also agree about the Oxbo, enjoying the series too .
Surprised that with the Oxbo windrower there is no animation of the grass being picked up and trown on the horizontal ditributors. Or has that got something to do with the custom grass textures on Court Farms map?
Can always find a scapegoat for Charles’ car, I’m thinking Jacob - he wasn’t well liked anyway. I wonder if you’ll ever hear more about him… Round bales preference for me but maybe just because that’s what has always been around where I stay.
If Charles is happy, don't upset him. It could be quite detrimental for you. Let some water flow under the bridge before you consider that. A good fast square bailer would be the go. But you will also need a speedy baler/wrapper for the silage. Will the Anderson 2000 trailer get around on Court Farm? Loving the series FSG great stuff. Cheers
The business is definitely due for some upgrades on the equipment. Hard to argue with efficiency of the square balers, but there's something about round baling that is really enjoyable. At this point, I'd say don't tell Charles, kind of late to do that given that he seems to have moved on.
@@TheFarmSimGuy i checked it out and found it. Seems older than the advanced loan mod, but I still like your mod better since you can put in your values of owned equipment. Does the interest rate change automatically or do you have to do it manually? In the mod I had, it's supposed to change on it's own, but I haven't seen it change yet
@@TheFarmSimGuy have you ever experienced the mod making conflicts on any map? Downloaded it yesterday and having some issues with things doesn't work on Campaign of France map. Did some changes with other mods I removed as well as I in general on this map can't look up and down pushing down the scroll mouse button
Great vid. First cut silage finally, flat out. Which is the nicer tractor, valtra q series or the massey 8s? Honest opinion. That oxbo rake speeds thing up a fair bit. Demos everywhere
I’m absolutely loving this series FSG! I think you should come clean and tell Charles the truth. It’s better to be an honest man rather than live down a lie. Also I would keep the double axle Goweil baler just because it bales and wraps all in one go but also get a square baler. The choice is yours at the end of the day but that is my two sense lol. Keep up the hard work and keep the vids coming! Take care 😎
Keep the baler with the wrapper, swap the other. If Charles is happy with the new vehicle, the police are not worried no more, forget it and move along, saying anything now will be nothing but major issues
Totally understand in terms of the size and not every field is that size. Might be better with 2 smaller ones, or mabye just lease one more when there is a lot of bailing contracts
No rush but i asked about the missing episodes on the no mans land co op with argsy and was wondering if it would be fixed? 16,27,31 are the missing episodes
FSG, I know this isn't a multiplayer vid, but i just started one with some friends and I am having issues with Guidance steering on the server. Basically the tractor shows it's locked but it starts drifting off course. Wondering if you use GPS or if you've had any issues?
Loving the series but have to say I'd like to see more farming the episodes are 29mins long and 20 mins of that is talking and explaining things instead of actual farming work.
