Actually..... awkward acting has been popular for a while now, but have you every seen any actors who are *_not_* good at it?? It's not a sign of good acting, it's a sign of the writers picking that mood. That is literally all it is.
As someone with autistic tendencies who is ashamed of desire, I found the explicit communication very relaxing, and the inhibited touching quite charming.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that I am the ugliest RU-vidr worldwide. I also smell like 100 de*d orangutans and have two hot hot hot girlfriends as you can see on my highly stimulating channel. Greetings, dear erika
As an introvert before and during the pandemic, I'll be fine after the pandemic...fine...just ...fine. This is...natural...Same old same old!...mhm...yep....
over on Frank James channel he is saying there are studies that show Introverts like us are having a HARDER time with the lockdowns.. maybe because we like our alone time but before we at least had the OPTION to go out.
me too! WEIRD FACT: Covid has been mostly fantastic to me, bc I'm an artsy street musician who makes everyone smile and laugh and they tell me I CURE their depression, and I played out every day and night (weather permitting) all over the New England seacoast (lovely adventures!)....and I spent 2020 with a cute 22 year old guitar shredder girl, and we spent every day together like boyfriend and girlfriend, even sleeping together EVERY night....but it was PLATONIC. She said she was in love with me and wanted to be my GF, but she was such a special friend, that I didn't want to LOSE HER when a romantic ship sinks, as it always does. Plus she smoked cigs and had insecurity issues, which are not GF material for me. BUT EVERY SINGLE NIGHT we slept together and snuggled like kittens and it was fantastic! But then she had a nervous breakdown and has since ghosted me. Ouch.
@Tom Bombadil I can tell you from experience that it continues to be tough throughout your 20s, but somewhere around your mid-30s you learn to accept that no one will ever be attracted to you, and you can start enjoying other aspects of your life.
@@SilentBudgie This is a horrible thing to say to a teenager. And it's sad even IF it was true, which you cannot know since you didn't even meet him. I kinda understand your point, and yes, life is more than dating, much more, but it isn't nice to say that someone would never be attractive, not even say to yourself. We don't have only our outside to offer to people.
@Tom Bombadil I'll not say to you that life will be perfect in any time future because I don't know that. What I do know is that love and intimacy find its way in our lives, sooner or later. Just try to be open and be nice to people. Oh, and don't compare yourself to others - you don't know about their lives or how their struggles look like when nobody is watching.
Also that could sadly be true until we get the vaccine. Look at New Zealand's latest outbreak. They were 100 data completely free of the virus and then some family found they had it. No idea where they got it from... hadn't been anywhere overseas, didn't know anyone who had. NZ started testing everyone like mad in that region... More people have come back positive and it's only recently they have found this. If it was asymptomatic then I the outbreak would have been more like Victoria's (Melbourne's) atm. But there's theories pointing to frozen dinner meals. They had them from overseas, the virus frozen and preserved. Then thawed out when heated up and no one would wash their hands after heating up the plastic frozen dinners. And bam infected. Pretty sad really. But it's important to think about all areas you could potentially get infected, I guess.
I had a socially distanced date yesterday in a park. It was this awkward plus more because of a park. I was both of you. Thank God for my dog at least.
How many dogs (at any time, not just these days) ought to be getting a salary and all their favorite things & activities, Big time... they often act as "wing men" for all genders of humanity! (I don't have one at this phase of my life, but happy nonetheless for those of you that do).
Possibly when August ends..... I feel like there's more in store with only a week left. Ya never know! Did you hear about the GMO mosquitos being released in Florida and the killer hornets are on their way there too... Yes! Things are great👍
😂 I had an actual conversation with someone the other day, after being alone for quite a while, and I didn’t know how to person. I can’t person anymore.
@@straightup2050 For me that was the only funny-weird part. The rest was pretty adorkable. It would be even more choice if after what he says at 6:45, she answers with a very heavy-hearted "I hate that word..." I'd watch this series weekly
Julie, how are you doing this? You're writing great sketches, acting brilliantly in them, featuring in others... and I can't even get out of bed before 10 am!!
Phoenix TV not dreaming mate. In our country everything has been back to normal for 2 months already. So my dreams have become a reality, while yours never will! :*
Hi I'm a socially anxious subscriber and the first 2 minutes of this basically killed me inside with awkwardness. lol. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who struggles watching awkward scenes.
I don’t think anyone else would’ve been able to portray the societal lack of interactive skills after so long in quarantine this accurately, this is brilliant!!!
“I miss human touch”. Lol, made me realize that I haven’t been touched by another human being since early March. Like, at all. The closest was the guy in a hazmat suit, mask and shield at a testing facility at a car park last week, sticking swabs down my throat and up my nose. I’ve had better dates, but not surprisingly, also worse dates. Leave my house once a week, occasionally twice a week. That’s the price of no family in your country and living alone. Luckily I have cats that love to snuggle.
Animals help ALOT. I'm in the same boat and I saw a cat climbing on some stuff, curiously looking around, exploring in the backyard. And just seeing another living being made my day so much better. I couldn't believe how good I felt just LOOKING at a real animal just outside my window. Ya, I totally understand :P
cyndaquilt I’m still working from home, only max 2 hours a week at the office. I consider myself incredibly blessed that I can do my job from home, and that the company I work for encourages it. Plus, and that’s a bonus of not having a family, I have my entire house always to myself. Surrounded by my art goodies in my home office in yoga pants is comfortable.
Such good acting! Better than anything on TV these days. I always get so excited when I see a video for Julie show up on my feed. Keep up the great work!
"I work out" "Where do you work out?" "Just at home." "Right on!" My God, I laughed so hard at this. I love the minute stuff so much. The whole thing was awkward but small stuff gets me everytime.
The two best Canadian comedians right now, her and Ryan George, live close to each other, in the Toronto - Montreal area. SNL could hit two stones with one bird on this one.
Social distancing means staying six or more feet apart. The two characters in this clip aren't like this due to social distancing, they're like this due to prolonged lock-down. You can have a relatively normal life while social distancing, that doesn't turn you into someone who is completely awkward around other people. How do I know? I've been doing so since March...right here in the good ol' USA. ...but I understand, you were trying to be edgy.
@@WLxMusic There are over 320 million people on the US and the vast majority are packed into very population dense areas. Of course what we're doing isn't working. Nothing is going to work except herd immunity. There is no feasible plan to stop this thing in the US. The only rational move is to protect the most vulnerable while everyone else gets through it.
I totally expected the ending to be "so... Sex?" and it would cut to you guys going into a bedroom wearing full hazmat suits lol, but this was brilliant!!
"Fremdschämen" is for when you see someone else be awkward and you feel acutely embarrassed for them. It's like second-hand embarrassment and it is definitely accurate here.
@@03019a it's a dramatization, the characters are so forward because they are desperate for human contact, that's not how things go in the west, if anything people say less stuff than in the east. As an example, I've never seen someone over the age of 14 say "please be my girlfriend" like they do here in Japan.
What everyone expected when they heard lockdown was going to happen: I'll have loads of time to do hobbies and stuff haven't had time for before! Reality of lockdown: RU-vid, Netflix and not knowing what you did all day
@@ididntknowtheyhadwifiinhell hmm 🤔, she never mentioned him as a husband only as "partner" ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭ (Julie must be reading these comments and cringing heavy 😂)
oh my god, you and Chris are just brilliant together - i hate to pigeonhole you Julie, but you are the queen of awkward - you have nailed it so perfectly... and then Chris comes along and you guys elevate it to a whole new level... perfect timing, perfect comedy.
@Michael Price Interesting. Are you a former SNL writer or cast member, or is this just common knowledge? Certainly no writers or performers enjoyed their time at SNL and subsequently became successful. Tina Fey, for example, is the worst.
Every Thursday: - Reach Department by 8:45 - Watch your new video at 9:00 - Get on duty by 9:30 Thank you, Julie, for making us laugh, smile, and by making our day good with another awesome video! Keep up the good work! Stay safe!
