In this video no one crossed the line and the Guard enforced the rule - but in other videos I saw a lot of people in the box (at the same time) and the Guard didn't say anything 😒
A whole new world (and about time) for both the four-legged trooper and the one in the saddle. I hope tourists get this and respect the new boundaries, the next is to stop tourists from walking through an empty box and not falling behind "the second white line" when told so.
Clearly the mod got permission from Westminster to paint the box on the public path. How they use the box is entirely up to the mod. Stating the trooper cannot tell people to stay out the box and away from the horse is up to them whether it's a public highway or not. These are working animals on duty and should not be touched by the public. Why are you saying he cannot tell people to stay out the box? He does have every right.
I agree, the guards are well within their rights. I’m sure that they had to give a valid reason as to the need for the painted outline before they received permission to paint it; and in doing so, they would’ve surely received authorization for the guards to enforce the rule that visitors/tourists do not cross into that boxed out area. Otherwise, the whole process was pointless.
It is public, ( its a major road called Whitehall) until you go through the gates into the Tilt - Yard...then it is MOD property, is that clear enough for you ?
@@lauren6889are you upset you won’t be getting as many views of horses biting people, and the guards shouting at the public to move away and don’t touch the reigns , this is much better now the horse and guards are less stressed. .
I can understand where you are coming from Buska when you say the guards can’t stop people from walking anywhere on a public pavement, but might it be that when they are on duty the KING’S GUARDS take precedence over the law of the land?
Yes some people did get bitten by the horse but there was a helluva lot more in crowds of them all over the horse stroking and pawing the horse, touching the reins, touching the guard etc.
That was kind of funny Woman's voice near the end "Just don't go inside the box.. whatever you do". Sounds like an ominous warning 😅. Well done though.❤
This is long overdue. For the sake of the soldier and the horse for safety reasons too. This horse is fairly placid, but horses like Ormonda and Arnie aren't.
i am so glad they finally did something to protect the guards and horse, but i guarantee there are still some idiots who dont care and will break the rules. just started watching and already there were two who invaded the space.
So good to see the horse now protected from that awful constant mauling they've all had to endure each day👍... Only wondering now if King Ormonde and Arnie might approve of this new out of reach biting zone though?! 😂
I say now that if anyone still decides to be non-compliant and steps inside the lines, they are fair game for Ormonde, Arnie, and any other horse that wants to snatch them up! Non-compliance = BITE! (and any complaints fall on deaf ears) LbVs 😂😂😂
So, first the 'Beware' sign didn't work so a DONT TOUCH THE HORSE sign went up. That didn't work so we now have a HUGE painted square, and even that doesn't work. I think the next step would be an electric fence.....oh wait, bad idea as some may touch it to see if it is actually turned on.
This new setup has been a long time coming! Hooray for keeping hundreds of hands off the horses and tourists from grabbing reins and invading the soldier’s personal space! 😊
"Horses may kick or bite, but if they aren't here, please feel free to walk right through the empty box..." EXCELLENT, lines on the ground - finally. Maybe they should have measured Ormonde's reach and put them that far away. LOL.
Let the games begin! I see that, without any instruction, people instinctively know what the white lines mean. They won't need to know English if they step over the line and get corrected by the guard. They will know why. :) It also looks like the line is forcing people to recognize that the guard and horse are not a static photo prop to be manipulated and mauled, but actual living beings that demand the respect of a certain distance. About time!!! I guess the massive crowds are done for the season, whew! And now the guards have a chance to do their actual job instead of being constantly alert to whatever the dickens the tourists are doing to their horse.
I think the point of the box is a reference for tourists to keep their distance from the horse and not crowd the box; while persons walking past on their way elsewhere, are not expected to "keep out the box".
Whilst the white lined box is a good idea and appears to be working well I think a notice requesting compliance with it would and should obviate the need for the present notice.
If you're going to ruin the show.... might as well take off those silly uniforms and act and look professional like the rest of the modern military. I hope tourism $ goes way down to teach some economics to these lads
Rules are only good if enforced, especially by the guards. Signs and lines are obviously ignored constantly. Heard how the police ask tourists to get back to the second white line here.
Who have you checked that comment with Buska ? Sometimes i think you forget that you record your own voice in your videos. So the Trooper has no Authority because hes in a public street...you said
If they were digging a whole along the pavement, they would put up barriers, because it's a work area and health and safety reasons, I view the white boxes the same as barriers
Well done to this guard Showing who’s the boss. If all guards say don’t cross the line it will be easier for guards, horses and the public. No mixed messages.
The people that say it's public street and they should not be told not to step inside the white box is absurd every thing is owned by the people is that mean you could walk to any government building or military base according to your logic.
When all said and done the king surely owns the highways byways and every other public pathway, and seeing how they are his horses he is entitled to make it a safe envirement for them, alternativly they will take the horses away as it it they are trying to avoid that as the horses are one of the biggest attractions, also it maintains the safety of the tourists as well.
It's obvious that the correct procedures took place and permission was granted. Yes it's a public street but considering what the building is, what occurs within it, then remember that it's actually a military barracks too. When all this is taken into consideration the fact that a few feet in.front of the troopers both two and four legged have been blocked off is nothing. And actually if the proper paperwork has been completed then yes the boundaries can should and will be enforced. As a British citizen( if you are) you should be pleased about the updated security levels at such a prominent building, also about the fact that now the troopers have some extra levels of protection. Remember that it's a military barracks not a fun fair.
@@amsodoneworkingnow1978 it’s certainly taken a lot of lobbying over a long time but yes, it’s at last been achieved, just need the Troopers to enforce it now.
The first two troopers were Fantastic! But the next pair were Horrible! The tourists were all over the horses! They paid no attention to the white lines and the troopers just sat on their horses like Zombies! Especially the one with the beard! They should have painted the line Red and much wider! That won't be white for long, with the people and weather changing it til you can't see the white anymore.
Clearly there has to be set boundaries in situations like this, even if it's considered a public sidewalk. Just as when police put up crime tape (a boundary) so that you cannot pass. People don't get free course to walk wherever they want too in public. Those areas designated for the guards should be off limits.
Public Street and no authority? Yes you’re right but then the all of those white lines have no authority to be enforced. Keep complaining that way and the horses will disappear all together or will go inside and no one will be allowed into the yard.
Each and every one of them is a veteran of combat. This is not their only duty the regiment has fought in more combat zones than I feel like typing. They are warriors not chocolate box soldiers, they deserve respect. Sorry buses but after watching your channel from virtually day one this is my last viewing. Your happy to make money from these troopers but you don't want them both two or four footed to be able to do their job in peace. If your so unhappy about the fact that they have some extra measures in place then it's simple stop filming them.
